A black haired loser stood at the edge of the street corner, in a bundle of people, and he began to walk as the cars stopped coming. In his hand, currently, he was currently reading a manga. One of his favorite anime and manga, One Piece.
He had fallen in love with it years ago, and just recently began reading the manga, becoming even more obsessed than he was before. The group of people he was once with were gone, or far ahead of him now. He had been walking slowly, his full focus and nose stuffed into the pages of the manga.
Then he heard it, the loud and eager sounds of horns trying to alert and catch his attention. Nixon paid it no mind, believing it wasn't meant for him in the first place. Then, when a nonstop, seemingly held-down horn grew closer and closer, it was too late, because when he perched his head up over the book, 2 bright and blinding lights pierced his gaze.
The horn was close, and so was the front of the speeding truck. Life and memories flashed at a rapid speed in his mind, and with it came fear of death. Soon, he was slammed back and crushed with the force of a speeding truck.
He'd lie on his back, having trouble bringing in enough air to breathe in his broken body. He used a lot of strength to turn his head, seeing the now bloodied and tattered One Piece manga volume. Nixon reached out for it, as if trying to take it with him to the afterlife. As he did so, he felt his eyes grow heavier. Shortly after, they were fully shut, and he was finally passed on.
.
.
Nixon opened his eyes in a white room that stretched endlessly, and there was no end or color in sight. Then, he heard a voice and felt a presence like no other. The aura that the being before him exuded was frightening; no man that he had ever seen was like this. But the being before him was not a man, and neither was it a woman; it was just a being.
[Hello, Nixon. I am a ROB. I have invited you to receive the offer of a lifetime. Don't bother asking why I'm doing this, I just am. I will be sending you off to the world you most desire. I will also grant you 3 wishes of your choosing. Pick wisely.]
The being's voice held might and endless power; the infinite space of white seemed to rattle just slightly with each vibration of the ROB's voice. Nixon didn't know what to think, he couldn't tell if this was real or his mind playing tricks on him after death. But he was excited as hell.
"So you're saying...I can go to the place I most desire? And, I get 3 wishes of my choosing? That's awesome. Okay, let's go ahead and cut to the chase."
[Well said.]
"For my first wish, I want a system. But, it's a system that grows with me, like if I get stronger, a point will be obtained in strength, and vice versa."
[So basically, a system with limitless growth. Granted.]
"For my second wish, I want to have infinite potential and growth. This will go hand-in-hand with my system. With heightened emotions, fights, and even hard work, I will grow at an exponential rate no matter what. For example, if I'm fighting someone who can copy me and my strength, as the fight drags on, I will eventually grow beyond them until they can no longer reach me in power."
[I see, that's quite broken. Granted.]
"For my final and last wish, Luck. Things naturally go in my favor. Like a main character, destiny is like a best friend and protects me. I don't want a piano falling on my head and killing me instantly. I want plot armor in a sense."
[Ah. Good choice. Granted.]
--[With that, you've picked all of your wishes, and are ready to be sent off to the place you desire most.]
Nixon closed his eyes.

The sounds of seagulls calling out filled the breeze of the lukewarm air. Ocean waves crashed against the island, and the faint sound of town people living their daily lives also filled Nixon's ears.
When he opened his eyes, he stood on a lush patch of open grass, around him was a rich and tall forest, and animals of all kinds to be seen. He wondered where he was, but he knew exactly what world he had landed in. Since this was the place he desired most, he made no mistake.
"One Piece. I'm here, living in this bizarre world." A smile plastered on his once-lost face.
"Status," Nixon called out.

After examining his stats and whatnot, Nixon wasted no time leaving the forest to explore the island. The system also told him what island he rested on, what sea he currently resided in, and the current timeline in which he existed.
[Island: Victory Bell]
[Sea: West Blue]
[Timeline: 1 Year Before Luffy set sail.]
"This is good, I just need to start my adventure quickly. I'm gonna need a boat and some men. Well, the crewmates can wait; let's just focus on getting stronger first."

In a tavern on Victory Bell Island...
"That boy Nixon is trouble. All he does is start fights with others while running around claiming he'll become a pirate."
"Yeah, but I'm curious, I haven't seen him at all today."
It had been just a few hours since Nixon found himself in the world of One Piece. Nixon had first explored the island, and then, a short while ago, began training. He grew according to his infinite potential and hard work.

He ran laps and laps around the forest to increase his agility, he did pushups and pullups from the branches to increase his power. He even engaged in troublesome combat and took hit after hit, along with pushing through grueling workouts to increase his durability. And just his will to attain a goal, and to never stop, is what increased his willpower.
Nixon could only smile, knowing this wasn't even the beginning of it all.
