Chapter 2 - Black and White

It's been a couple of weeks, and Rorschach has made a name for himself as the ruthless vigilante who showed no mercy. The police are after him because of his ruthless methods of dealing with criminals he deemed deserving of punishment. He hasn't had a run-in with Daredevil yet, but he knows he is looking for him. He is confident that he can defeat Daredevil. He has realized that Dr. Manhattan didn't kill him but instead somehow transported him to this new universe with some perks to help him survive. First, he has a stats boost to everything; he is now a little weaker than a super soldier. Second, he has the ability to grow stronger as he takes damage and builds up anger. He calls it fighting spirit. He has tested it out and finds that with his fighting spirit, he can get as strong as a super soldier or Captain America but will still get stomped out by the Hulk. Rorschach was currently asking someone nicely about the Kingpin and if they had any information on him. The thug told him that Kingpin's real name was Wilson Fisk and he pretty much controls New York. The last thing the thug told him before he was put in a coma was that there was something going on at the docks, something to do with human trafficking, so he started to run there as fast as he could. Eventually, he arrived at the dock where he saw four people. Two of them were loading four girls into some shipping containers. The other was waiting inside a car nearby, and finally, the last one was sitting in a chair eating a sandwich. The guy eating a sandwich had a crowbar near him, so Rorschach decided he was going to use it as a weapon.

He sneaked up behind the guy and took the crowbar near him, then dumped him into the water, which alerted the rest of the crew. Before they could grab their guns, Rorschach threw the crowbar at the guy who was about to pull his gun out, knocking him out. He sprinted at the rest of the thugs who didn't have time to react. One of them pulled a knife out, but Rorschach easily dispatched the thug. The last guy tried to pull his gun out, but ended up getting a crowbar to his face. Using the crowbar, Rorschach began to give the thug the Jason Todd treatment, beating him to a bloody pulp. His excuse was to get information, but in reality, he felt like this guy should pay. Before he could do any more damage, a man with a blindfold appeared and told him to stop. Rorschach turned around and addressed this man as Daredevil, the man who was looking for him and the protector of Hell's Kitchen. Daredevil demanded Rorschach to stop torturing the man, who was clearly defenseless and incapable of fighting back anymore. Rorschach didn't look like he was going to stop, so Daredevil tried to stop him, but Rorschach dodged and countered with a mean right hook that shook Daredevil a little, but it wasn't enough to stop his advance. Daredevil, using his baton this time, attacked with a flurry of well-timed attacks that would have been able to take out a normal person, but Rorschach wasn't a normal person and dodged most of them, catching the last attack and sweeping his legs from under him. He dropped Daredevil, but Daredevil was able to jump back to his feet. Rorschach was getting tired of him, so he decided to go on the offensive, using his knowledge of multiple martial arts and his new abilities to incapacitate Daredevil, tying him up on a pole so he couldn't interfere with his interrogation. After he finally finished with the criminal, who was beaten to within an inch of his life, he decided to chat with Daredevil a little and give him a piece of his mind before leaving.

Matt woke up with some confusion forgetting where he was for a second but soon realized that the guy he was trying to stop was right in front of him. He immediately used his hearing abilities to see if the guy was still alive, lucky he could hear a faint heartbeat but the man needed immediate medical attention or else he might not make it. Rorschach starts to question Daredevil on why he tried to stop him from killing the man. Daredevil explained that killings are wrong and we don't decide the fate of criminals and it will only make us worse than them. Rorschach scoffed at his words and explained that the man he integrated deserved everything he gave him and he is lucky that he didn't kill him. Rorschach told Daredevil that he can show mercy for now but at some point he will peek into desolation row and realize the truth.Rorschach left Daredevil tied up which he will eventually get out of but he didn't care about him right now he was focused on taking care of the crime problem.

Rorschach has heard that Tony Stark has finally returned and has somehow escaped the terrorist group. He wonders how Tony Stark escaped but soon turns his attention to his real goal, which is to take the Kingpin down by any means necessary, even if he has to kill him. Rorschach is ready to make the decision if needed but that can wait for now he first has to get home. After taking care of the thugs and Daredevil, Rorschach finally got back to his house. The events of the past few weeks have settled in, and he needs a little break from crime-fighting. In his past world, he was so focused on crime-fighting that he never got to live a little, so this time he vows to do something with his life instead of being a crime-fighting maniac all the time. He takes his mask off, which takes a lot of his willpower, and goes outside to see what this place is all about.
