A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
STAR WARS
For over 25,000 years, the Galactic Republic ruled the galaxy. During this incredibly long stretch, they brought prosperity, wealth, and security across countless star systems.
But here's the thing - throughout all that history, they never managed to create a centralized, efficient administrative system. The bureaucracy, oligarchy, and loose governance turned the Republic into nothing more than a giant bubble.
Sure, it looked grand, magnificent, and colorful... but man, was it fragile.
The Galactic Republic wasn't really a nation so much as a loose alliance of sovereign planets, with tons of hidden dangers lurking beneath its flashy exterior.
Starting from the most developed star systems near the galactic core, the galaxy broke down into the Core Worlds, Inner Rim, Mid Rim, and Outer Rim Territories. The farther out you went, the poorer and more backward the planets got - though they far outnumbered the wealthy core systems.
Of all the conflicts brewing within the Republic, the most intense was the stark contrast between the dirt-poor Outer Rim planets and the filthy rich Inner Rim and Core Worlds. Classic tale of exploiters versus the exploited, and separatist movements were gaining steam.
But before these tensions could tear the Republic apart, a massive spaceship appeared at the edge of the galaxy in the Model Star Sector, kicking off the beginning of a huge change...
It marked an unknown "X" on the galaxy's destiny, about to plunge everything into chaos...
"You have to make a choice, Tang Xiao."
"Stars are burning, people are suffering, and millions of innocent lives are lost every single day... Now fate has dropped this opportunity right in front of you. Will you step up and take it, or walk away?"
A deep, mysterious voice suddenly echoed in his head.
Tang Xiao found himself standing in an endless field of stars, staring at the countless bright pinpoints of light below him. "Am I... dreaming? Take what? What exactly am I accepting here?"
He raised his hands in front of his face. The feeling was strange - dreamlike but weirdly real at the same time.
Without warning, a massive warship roared overhead! The thing was so huge it took a full half-minute just to pass over him! Countless cold cannon barrels swiveled in unison before firing a gigantic energy beam, easily ten times bigger than Tang Xiao himself!
In the distance, another fleet materialized. The two forces collided in brutal combat! Laser beams instantly filled the entire space, ripping apart the once peaceful starscape!
Starfighters poured out like angry hornets around the massive warships, dogfighting in every direction. Explosions flashed continuously.
In the vacuum of space, everything happened in eerie silence, but that somehow made it even more brutal to watch!
A heavy artillery shell slammed into the warship above Tang Xiao, tearing off its outer armor as flames began to spread. He could clearly see crew members being sucked into the merciless vacuum, their bodies flailing in desperation.
"This is..." Tang Xiao looked toward the other fleet. The warships had distinct triangular hulls and towering bridges, surrounded by swarms of H-shaped fighters.
Memories suddenly clicked into place, and he gasped, "TIE Fighters! Imperial-class Star Destroyers! Holy crap... this... is... the Star Wars universe!!"
Everything around him shattered like glass, and Tang Xiao found himself back among the magnificent stars. From his vantage point, he could clearly see war raging on every planet below, mushroom clouds of nuclear explosions blooming one after another.
"You've made your choice, and fate's gonna reward you for it." The deep, mysterious voice returned.
"Hey!! What choice did I make? I didn't choose anything yet! Hey..." Tang Xiao couldn't finish before some invisible force yanked him away, sending him spinning out of control.
The sensation was awful, like being thrown into a giant toilet and flushed.
"Hey!! Let me go back~~~~~~~~~~"
Arriving at target star system, name unknown, coordinates unknown.
System log continues...
[AI voice] "Administrator Tang Xiao, planet scan complete. This world is habitable for humans. Colonization can begin whenever you're ready to give the order."
