Chapter 13 - chapter 12 the secret unveiled

The room was eerily quiet after Isabelle's explosive declaration. Every breath felt heavy, like the air was thick with the weight of the truth finally breaking free. The top stood frozen, his eyes glued to Isabelle, a thousand unspoken words swirling in his mind. The bottom, on the other hand, was oddly still, watching this exchange with quiet intensity, as if he already knew that everything was about to change.

Isabelle, ever the picture of elegance, stood with her arms crossed, waiting for a response. But it wasn't going to come from the top—not yet, at least. He was too lost in his own guilt, his own mind, struggling to process the storm Isabelle had just thrown at him.

"You... don't need to do this," the top finally said, his voice softer now, almost as if he were pleading.

"Don't need to do what?" Isabelle shot back, her eyes narrowing. "Don't need to confront you? Don't need to make you face the consequences of your actions?" She paused, her gaze flicking over to the bottom, who remained eerily silent. "Or maybe you just don't need me in this picture at all, huh? Because I'm just the fiancée, just a placeholder until you get what you really want."

The words stung, cutting through the silence like a blade. The top recoiled slightly, as if each accusation were a personal wound.

"I never meant to hurt you," the top said, his voice tight with emotion. "This isn't what I wanted. You have to believe me."

But Isabelle wasn't ready to let him off the hook just yet. "Believe you? Oh, I do believe you," she said, her voice laced with sarcasm. "I believe that I'm just a pawn in your twisted little game. All this time, I've been here, supporting you, loving you, thinking that we had something real. But now? Now, I see it for what it is. All of it. The lies, the secrecy, and especially him."

She pointed at the bottom, and for the first time, the bottom's expression changed—something darker, colder, flashed in his eyes, but it was gone as quickly as it had appeared.

"You think you can just walk in here, say all this, and then what? What do you want from me, Isabelle?" the top asked, his voice almost desperate. He moved closer to her, but she took a step back, a coldness settling between them.

Isabelle let out a bitter laugh. "What do I want? That's rich coming from you. You've been using me for your own comfort, your own needs. And when things got too complicated, you brought him into the picture, didn't you? You knew exactly what you were doing. And now? Now I have to marry someone else—someone who doesn't keep secrets. Someone who doesn't hide behind their lies."

The bottom's eyes flashed, and this time, he couldn't hold back. "Isabelle, don't think you know everything about us," he said, his voice surprisingly smooth, with a dangerous edge to it. His gaze lingered on the top for a second before returning to Isabelle. "You don't know half of what's been going on."

She raised an eyebrow. "Oh, do tell," Isabelle replied with an almost mocking tone. "I'm all ears, darling."

The bottom stepped closer, his presence suddenly commanding the room. "You think it's that simple? That you can just walk in and take everything at face value?" His voice dropped lower, darker. "You don't know what he's done for you. What he's given up... for you. And you don't know what I have sacrificed, either."

Isabelle's breath caught in her throat. There was something in the way he said it, something that sent a chill down her spine. It wasn't a threat—it was a warning. A warning that there was more to this story than she could ever have imagined.

The top stood between them now, his eyes flickering between Isabelle and the bottom. The tension in the room was unbearable. It was clear that Isabelle had just stumbled into a situation far deeper than she had ever expected. She had thought she understood the dynamics between them, but now, it was all starting to unravel, piece by piece.

"You want to know the truth, Isabelle?" the top finally said, his voice barely above a whisper. "The truth is... I never wanted to hurt you. But I've been in too deep. And so has he."

Isabelle's heart raced. The bottom's icy gaze was fixed on her, his presence looming over her like a shadow. She didn't know whether to be afraid or intrigued.

"And now," the top continued, his voice faltering for the first time, "you're right. I've been hiding things from you. Things I thought you didn't need to know. But the truth is, you're about to find out whether you want to or not."

Isabelle's pulse quickened. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

But before the top could answer, the bottom cut in, his voice cutting through the silence like a blade. "Because you're not the only one who's been hiding things. I have my own secrets. And they're darker than you can ever imagine."

Isabelle's eyes widened, but before she could process the words, the top spoke again.

"It's time you knew the truth about everything," he said, his voice steady now. "About me, about him, and about... you."

And just like that, the walls between the three of them crumbled. The lies, the secrets, the betrayal—it was all laid bare, and there was no going back. Isabelle was trapped in a game she hadn't even known she was playing, but now, there was no escape.
