At the end, they all ran to a small café. The first one to arrive was Kim So-hee, and the last was Jeong Tae-ho.
• Ha-ha! So, who's paying for everyone?
Kim So-hee laughed impatiently, standing ahead of everyone.
• Damn you!
Jeong Tae-ho shouted angrily.
• That's not an answer.
Ho Su-min said, also laughing.
• I AM! Happy now?!
• Completely.
Pak Nuri said calmly, barely holding back her laughter.
• Then let's order everything we want! The fool is paying.
• Repeat that! What did you call me?!
Jeong Tae-ho got even angrier.
But Kim So-hee ignored him. She went to a table by the window and kept laughing.
Pak Nuri went to sit with her, while Ho Su-min stayed by Jeong Tae-ho.
• Don't be upset.
He placed his hand on Jeong Tae-ho's shoulder.
• Maybe next time you'll manage to outrun us.
Ho Su-min smiled.
Jeong Tae-ho glared at him. He pushed Ho Su-min's hand off his shoulder, and Ho Su-min just kept laughing.
• Go to hell!
Ho Su-min quickly walked over to Kim So-hee and Pak Nuri.
He sat next to Kim So-hee, almost hiding behind her.
• Hey, come here!
Jeong Tae-ho shouted at him.
• Don't come near!
Ho Su-min shouted back.
• Stop right there! Keep a two-meter distance!
Kim So-hee said, still smiling. She extended her hand and stopped Jeong Tae-ho with her palm.
• Ha-ha-ha! Got it!
Ho Su-min laughed behind Kim So-hee.
• Oh, you!
• YES! YOU THREE! NOW SIT DOWN AND DON'T MAKE A SOUND!!
Pak Nuri yelled, no longer able to hold back her anger.
• Everyone's looking at us!
She continued.
Jeong Tae-ho slowly sat down next to her.
Ho Su-min and Kim So-hee also sat calmly.
• Calm down. Don't lose your temper.
Kim So-hee said in a calm voice.
• Anyway, "this one" is paying for us.
She pointed at Jeong Tae-ho.
After everyone calmed down and ordered food, they sat and chatted.
• You know, I just realized who eats the most out of all of us.
Jeong Tae-ho said with a sarcastic tone.
• Who?
Pak Nuri asked.
• Your precious little friend.
He said with a small smile, looking at Kim So-hee.
• Oh, so what.
Kim So-hee said, rolling her eyes.
• You're going to make me bankrupt!
• Like only I ordered food. And by the way, thank you for not ordering everything at once.
• Oh. Thank you, Your Highness. I bow to you.
Jeong Tae-ho said seriously, bowing his head and waving his hand.
While they argued, Pak Nuri gave Ho Su-min a look, signaling for him to do something.
Ho Su-min nodded.
• By the way, Kim So-hee, I didn't know you run so fast.
• Oh, it's nothing.
Ho Su-min put his hand on her shoulder.
• I'm serious. You ran so fast.
• Ah, uh-uh.
She said uncertainly.
"A-a-a!!! He put his hand on my shoulder! What do I do?!! What should I say?!!"
She thought, overwhelmed by the fact that Ho Su-min spoke to her first.
Pak Nuri watched them proudly.
"Look at me! I feel so proud of this."
As for Ho Su-min, he didn't think much about it. He was just stopping the argument between the "enemy-friends."
"Why did they stop arguing? Well, at least I'm glad they're not fighting anymore."
He thought.
Meanwhile, Jeong Tae-ho shot him cold, dark glares. Then he turned his gaze to Kim So-hee and felt even more anger than he did when he lost earlier.
"Wait! Why am I even angry?"
He thought.
"Probably because of Kim So-hee. Yes! I'm sure it's because of her, because I hate her. Just like she hates me."
Jeong Tae-ho looked away from them.
But was he really angry because of his hatred for Kim So-hee?
23:27
In the evening, everyone went home.
"I'll get home and go straight to bed."
Kim So-hee opened the door to her house. She walked in, everything seemed normal, but she felt like something was off.
"I'm glad my mom will only be home in a few days."
She thought with relief, but as soon as she entered the living room, her mother, Seo Ji-ran, was already sitting on the couch.
Kim So-hee froze in place when she saw Seo Ji-ran.
Seo Ji-ran sat there with an angry face, silent.
• M-mom?
Kim So-hee barely spoke.
• You were supposed to return in four days.
• But it seems like you've only just decided to come.
• Well, I...
Seo Ji-ran cut her off and began speaking.
• And you know what, I'm not surprised!
She raised her voice.
"Here we go again," Kim So-hee thought.
• Why?
She asked.
• "Why?" You're still asking me why! YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN LIKE YOUR FATHER!!!
Seo Ji-ran started yelling without getting up from the large white couch.
• YOU'RE JUST LIKE HIM!!! YOU ALWAYS DO WHAT YOU WANT!!!
Seo Ji-ran got up and walked toward Kim So-hee.
Kim So-hee stood there, too surprised to say anything.
• INSTEAD OF STUDYING, YOU WENT GOD-KNOW-WHERE!! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO BE NUMBER ONE?!
• I understand.
Kim So-hee said confidently, looking straight into Seo Ji-ran's eyes.
• DOESN'T SHOW, DOES IT?! YOU SHOULD BE STUDYING AND ONLY STUDYING!!
Seo Ji-ran cooled down a little and sat back down on the couch.
• You've always been like your father, so brainless like him! Why weren't you born like me?!
This continued until 00:14.
Kim So-hee just stood there, listening to everything Seo Ji-ran said about her.
• Now go to your room. And don't come out until morning! Got it?!
Kim So-hee didn't answer. She went to her room. As soon as she opened the door...
• And don't forget, if something like this happens again, I'll do what I promised you.
Kim So-hee glared at Seo Ji-ran with hatred in her gray, cold eyes.
Seo Ji-ran noticed her gaze, and a chill ran down her spine. Even she didn't expect that. Seo Ji-ran quickly looked away.
Kim So-hee entered her room and lay on her bed. As soon as her head touched the pillow, she fell asleep.
Kim So-hee slept until the morning without leaving her room.
