On the Eighth Ring of the Ten Rings Mountains, a party of humans was fighting against a pride of lions.
The lions were entirely white and were two meters tall at the shoulder. Having impressive 4 meters of length. Their limbs sported extreme muscles, their majestic manes, looking like white flames around their heads.
However, the party did not seem to be in trouble even when fighting against 20 of these lions at the same time.
This party was the Green Arrow Group that Long Tian had entered.
At the front, Reng Huang was using a massive shield to keep the lions at bay. He seemed to be almost playing with the lions, completely at ease against these beasts.
Just behind him, Lei Ru and Lei Mu were using their spears to help and not let the lions encircle him. Each thrust either directly killing or at least maiming the lions.
By the sides, Qiu Fei was on the left and Long Tian on the right, cutting any lion that tried to go around Reng Huang. They didn't stay at single spot, constantly dashing and cutting any lion that approached.
Behind all of them, the three archers, Guan Zhun and the two sisters were shooting arrows with incredible precision on the lions. They seemed to be the one's killing the most lions.
They had just arrived at the eighth ring when this pride of Primitive White Lions attacked them out of nowhere.
Luckily, their back was to the mountainside, meaning no lion could come from behind, so they were simply keeping formation and killing any that got too close.
While slashing the lions, Long Tian observed how everyone fought.
Reng Huang used a shield that was bigger than himself and had surprising agility with it, bashing it against any lion that came close. Clearly, he had very good fitness to be able to just bash primitive beasts back.
The two brothers were a little lazy, not that it mattered, as they were killing the lions quite easily.
But they only stabbed anything that tried to go around them, not even bothering to kill the lions bashing against the shield.
Next was Qiu Fei, the young swordsman. Long Tian had to say, he was impressed. If Qiu Fei had the same fitness as him, he didn't know if he could win without a serious injury, and that was very impressive, considering the type of training Long Tian went through.
Lastly were the three archers.
The most normal one was Guan Zhun. Using a bow that was probably made of Z-Metal and arrows that were also made of it.
Z-Metal was a type of metal that humanity found after the war with the shuras ended. It was extremely durable, and when mixed in alloys, created the hardest materials that humanity could produce.
But they were extremely expensive.
By what the group had conversed while they were coming here, Guan Zhun was a member of a Tier 1 clan and was very well off because of it.
However, the most impressive were the two sisters.
The one with the ponytail, Bian Mei, used an almost transparent Cyan bow, clearly a beast soul, and green arrows.
These arrows were also beast souls, and he was pretty sure they were Sacred Blood beast souls.
The one with the bun, Bian Lian, was using a green bow that was clearly stronger than her sister's and also the same green arrow.
Both had killed more than 10 lions in a few seconds at the start of the fight, and Long Tian finally understood why he sensed danger from them and also why the group was called Green Arrow.
Barely five minutes into the fight, more than 30 lion corpses were on the ground. Some had skulls bashed in, some had massive holes in their necks and eyes.
Then there were some that were slashed and others that had simply taken an arrow into the eyes.
After killing more than 30 lions, the rest of the pride, barely 10 members now, turned around and fled.
Lei Ru and Lei Mu just let out exhausted sighs and said,
"Way too much trouble for a bunch of primitive beasts, I am tired."
In unison, the sight was quite comical.
"You guys, stop being lazy and help us pile up these lions."
Reng Huang said to them while picking up a lion carcass.
After they finished piling the corpses and their detached limbs, Guan Zhun summoned a massive elephant.
"Wow. You guys had such a massive mount all this time?"
Long Tian asked, marveling at the size of the Blue Mammoth in front of him.
It was at least 8 meters tall and 12 meters long, a massive beast.
"Heh brother, this one is too slow even though it is a Mutant, and also, these beasts attract too much attention, it's better to only use it when going back."
Guan Zhun said with a smile, a hint of pride in his voice.
"Yeah, yeah. We all know how heroic you were when you bought this beast soul from Qin Ling. Now let's get these lions secured and continue. These corpses should fetch at least 50k."
Reng Huang said while conjuring a massive sack, which he slung over the mammoth, the sack had a type of bag on both sides, where they started pouring the lion corpses.
After finishing, the group continued on their way, now a massive Blue Mammoth following very slowly behind them.
"Hey," Long Tian said suddenly.
"Are the real Blue Mammoths this slow?"
"Hah, you wish brother, those beasts are very fast, especially when they are in a stampede."
Reng Huang said.
The two brothers suddenly shuddered as if they remembered some bad memories.
"Yeah brother, you don't want to anger those monsters, they are pretty vengeful and have a great memory."
One of the brothers said.
"Well, just make sure to keep your distance from them, they are one of the few beasts that actually eat only plants."
Guan Zhun finished.
After walking for a little over ten minutes while observing the extremely verdant valley, the group suddenly heard a loud roar in the distance.
"Uhhh, guys, that sounded a lot like those lions. But like, bigger and probably angrier."
Lei Ru said after hearing the sound.
"Yeah, it was pretty strange for so many primitive beasts to be together. It's probably a pride led by a mutant creature."
Guan Zhun spoke while the group agreed with him.
"The beast will probably come after us following our sent, let's find somewhere to hide the mammoth and probably a choke point so that it won't overwhelm us with its pride."
Reng Huang said rapidly while starting to walk faster.
The group took two minutes to find something akin to a cavern but with a very high ceiling.
They put the mammoth inside and stood on the entrance, which had barely allowed the mammoth to pass.
Five minutes later, they saw the king of the pride.
Five meters tall and ten long. That was a massive white lion.
Behind it, there was a massive army of lions. At least 100, all in the primitive rank.
"Alright guys, if we kill the big one, the small ones will probably flee. So let's do it like this."
Reng Huang continued.
"I, Lei Ru and Lei Mu will hold the mouth of the cavern."
"Guan Zhun, I will need your help killing anything that passes through us."
Guan Zhun nodded, his bow already in hand.
"Tang Tian and Qiu Fei will also help kill the primitive beasts, but if you see any opening, feel free to strike at the mutant one."
"Finaly, Bian Mei and Bian Lian will shower arrows on the mutant lion, keep him busy dodging. We don't want him to get close to the cavern or we could be overwhelmed."
Everyone nodded, weapons already in hand.
After the Lions got within 100 meters, the sisters started shooting at the mutant Lion, hitting it two times before it started to dodge.
The rest of the pride continued ahead, hoping to kill these humans.
Reng Huang and the rest stood their ground and met the lions with brutal force.
With 5 people holding such a small space, almost no lion could pass through, and any that passed got killed or heavily injured by Guan Zhun.
Time continued to pass like this until the mutant got within 30 meters of the cave.
It suddenly roared and the lions entered a type of frenzy, disregarding their lives to try and injure them.
Seeing this, the pressure on them got too high and Bian Mei had to help one of the brothers, diminishing the pressure on the mutant and allowing it to dash to ten meters of the cave.
Seeing that there were still at least 50 primitive lions, and the mutant one was approaching, Long Tian decided to act.
He rapidly cut down the 5 lions in front of him and dashed to meet the mutant lion just five meters outside the cave.
The lion quickly swiped its claw at him.
Long Tian, against all expectations, dashed beneath the swipe and arrived beneath the beast.
He prepared a slash, jumped and slashed at full strength.
He ended up disemboweling the beast, its guts falling down.
Long Tian rapidly dodged the gut shower. The beast roared in pain and tried to flee but could not take two steps before falling down.
Long Tian was pretty sure he had slashed through the beast's heart, so it was not a surprise it had died.
After a few seconds, Long Tian heard it.
*Ding*
[Mutant Beast White Lion killed. Beast Soul of Mutant White Lion gained.]
[Supreme Evolution activated. Beast Soul of Sacred Blood White Lion gained.]
[Eat its flesh to gain up to 100 Mutant Gene Points.]
'Second day in the sanctuary and I already have a Sacred Blood beast soul. It must be a record among the Long Clan Young Masters.'
Long Tian then rapidly recovered and saw that the primitive lions had started to retreat. Without a leader, they would probably end up killing each other until a new mutant appeared among them.
Then, the group walked out of the cave.
"Holy Shit. Tang Tian, I thought you said you could deal with primitives. Not that you could one-shot mutants."
Guan Zhun exclaimed, looking at the fallen beast and at Long Tian, who looked more like a child next to a mountain next to it.
"Well, I never said I could not. Besides, with the damage the sisters had already inflicted, it was extremely weakened. I only went in so it wouldn't break our formation."
Long Tian said apologetically while looking at the sisters, mainly Bian Lian.
At that moment, he finally heard her speak.
"It's your ability that allowed you to kill it. I had nothing to do with it."
She said with finality.
"Anyways, let's gather the corpses and the big one here, all of this should fetch at least 200k"
Reng Huang said, even though they were all still looking surprised at Long Tian.
Qiu Fei even looked at him with a fire in his eyes, as if he wanted to fight him right there.
'Ah great, a battle maniac, everything I needed right now.'
Long Tian thought resignedly.
