I am Akitzu, a college student born on a world called Earth.
My hobbies are reading manga, watching anime, and playing video games.
My favorite genres are action and historical fantasy. I dislike stories about the modern world-after all, I already live in it.
It was just a typical, normal day. But that day, on my way home…
I got struck by lightning. And instead of gaining any superpowers or magical abilities, I unfortunately died.
Yes, I received death.
My body died, but my consciousness didn't disappear.
I couldn't see, but I could feel everything around me.
It felt like I was floating in an unending river of blood.
And it was extremely hot, the smell was so horrible that I wanted to die again.
It was like flowing into an endless river of hell-but I knew it wasn't.
Hell might be similar, but this… this was something else entirely.
I came up with a name for this place. I now call it Abyss of the End.
If I were to compare this place to hell, this would be far more extreme than what I've heard about it.
I suffered as it burned my soul. My body was in pain—but it was a pain I could never properly describe.
I heard screams of agony. I tried to scream for help too.
But it was futile. I could only let out an inaudible scream.
I felt something touch me, trying to pull me deeper. I struggled, and by some miracle, I didn't drown in that abyss.
Above all that, I saw the memories of a Demon within this Abyss.
His name was, Satan, also known as the Demon God.
Then one day… I stopped floating. And the only thought in my mind was:
"I don't want to experience that shit ever again."
After countless days, months, or maybe even years…
I finally opened my eyes.
"It seems I was born ag—" My thoughts were interrupted.
"Wh-what?" were the first words I heard.
Due to being an adult in my past life, I didn't cry or do anything, just stared at the woman and the maid beside her.
From their clothing, I could tell I'd been reincarnated into some kind of historical era.
Excitement took over me, and I began trembling. The woman's eyes widened, and she tried her best to calm me down.
I assumed that the woman holding me was my mother. She was as beautiful as a rose.
She had long black hair, plum-red eyes with cat-like irises, and a slender body.
I looked around at the room's structure, and it was stunning. I couldn't believe these were structures from the past.
The next day…
My father—the head of the Kibutsuji family—and the family elders decided to kill me.
They saw me as nothing but a useless tool. To think they judged me like that when I was only a day-old baby…
Wait, can I even call myself a baby?
I hadn't seen my body yet, but I overheard the maid saying I looked extremely fragile when she thought I was asleep.
As she carried me toward my father, I caught a glimpse of a katana. In its reflection, I saw myself.
My body was tiny. My arms and legs were as thin as sticks. If I survive this, I might have a hard time just standing in the future.
My father had long, curly black hair, black almond-shaped eyes, and a muscular build.
Now he held me in one arm and a knife in the other.
He sat down and began some sort of ritual, placing the knife beside him and holding me with both hands.
"Help. I think I'm about to be killed," I thought.
I didn't cry at birth, but now-tears poured from my eyes. I was about to die again.
I cried and screamed, "Whaa!" My mother trembled at my cry.
I could see the guilt on her face.
I thought she would just sit and watch me die.
But then she stood up, walked toward my father, kissed my forehead, and sat beside him.
Her eyes were no longer the same. That's when I realized-
She had already decided to die with me.
She tried to grab the knife to stab herself, but my father reacted with inhuman speed, taking the blade from her hands.
He let go of me in the process, and I fell to the floor.
It was painful, but worth it-if it meant saving my mother's life.
He asked her why he sensed killing intent from her.
As tears fell from her beautiful eyes, she said,
"I cannot bear to see my child die in front of me. I would rather die first than see him die before me... so I could accompany him, even in the afterlife."
For a moment, my father's emotionless face softened, just a little.
My mother hurried over, held me tightly in her arms, and whispered, "I'm sorry," while hugging me.
My past life is over. Akitzu is no more.
Now, as a child of the Kibutsuji family...
A few hours later, my father spared my life.
He knew that if they kill me now-or even indirectly-my mother would surely take her own life.
And so, he spared me but never announced my birth.
Instead, he sent me to a separate house with maids and doctors to care for me.
A month later, my mother came to visit.
She walked slowly, clearly unwell.
The maid who took care of me grew anxious seeing my mother's condition.
I sat down so she wouldn't worry about me wandering off.
The maid quickly went to assist her, guiding her to me.
When she finally reached me, she hugged me tightly and cried.
She played with me, spoiled me, smiled through her tears.
After calming down, she told me I would soon become a big brother.
So I should overcome my illness and get stronger-so I could protect my little sibling in the future.
She said she might not be able to visit me again, but that we'd meet once I get better and return to the main house.
She even wrote a letter explaining everything, worried that I was still a baby and wouldn't remember what she said.
Then she gathered the servants and said that my father had finally given me a name.
From this day forward… I was known as Kibutsuji Muzan.
"WHAT?! I thought I'd be his brother!" I screamed internally.
