Chapter 4 - A Warm Welcome

The two of them wasted no time, as they quickly walked through the forest, brimming with confidence.

Mina took the amulet out of the system and had Sora tie it around her neck.

"Ding! You are wearing an ancient amulet of the god of Nature, Eden. This amulet will glow when someone is lying to you, or you are in imminent danger!"

"That's really cool and it looks better on you anyway. I miss being good looking!"

"Yeah, well, maybe one day we'll achieve your dream and become dragons."

"That would be so cool!"

They walked up to the same Elf, and noticed Prince Xavier idly standing in the background, keeping command over his men.

"Papers, please." The elf asked

"This is so weird," Sora thought

"Apologies, we do not have papers. My name is Mina Hart, and this is my identical twin brother, Sora. We were sent here by Eden, the god of nature, to help Elven kind restore its glory and to make peace with humans. We offer this amulet as a token of our respect to your King and Queen," Mina said confidently.

"That is quite the gift. May I please have a look?"

"With such a precious amulet, you must understand that we are under order from the gods to get this amulet to the King and Queen. I mean no disrespect, but only if you were a Prince or Princess to this Kingdom, and the amulet verified that, would we allow for you to hold the amulet," Sora said with a polite bow, knowing he was indeed talking to Prince Xavier.

"Oh, what a wise pair our gods have selected! I am indeed the Prince of the Kingdom, Xavier Fang, son of Luther and Ella Fang, the last remaining holy family of the elven race. I see you are dressed in our Elder clothing, oh how the gods have finally answered our prayers!"

"Ding! This person is telling the truth. Would you like to transfer the amulet?"

After Mina and Sora clicked yes, the necklace untied itself from Mina and Mina quickly improvised and said, "the amulet knows you are telling the truth and we transfer it to you, in hopes for a meeting with the King and Queen."

"What great magic!" Xavier said as the amulet tied around his neck.

"Can we trust you to help us in our quest to restore the elven kingdoms and have humankind agree to a fair peace treaty they will follow?" Mina asked Xavier.

"Yes, now let us waste no time! You should meet my Mother and Father at Once!" Xavier said.

To the twins' delight, they received no system notification, and the amulet remained its beautiful black color, meaning no lies were told.

"Ding! New skill added to the system. "Elven Magic [uncommon]. New quest activated: Gain access to Elder magic. Reward. Elder magic. Good luck!"

Sora and Mina smiled as they followed Xavier to the King and Queen's throne room.

"Mother, Father! Today is a joyous day. The god of Nature blessed us with these identical twins and this sacred amulet! They are here to aid us in the war with humankind!" Xavier said proudly, while kneeling to his parents.

"Is this really the same guy as yesterday? He was such an arse!" Sora whispered to Mina.

"Indeed. It is strange seeing someone act so different. We should make sure we don't fail quests. Otherwise, we will see the nasty side of people," Mina whispered back.

"Mina and Sora. We are pleased to meet you. How did you come across that amulet?" King Luther asked.

"We were given this amulet by Chronos, the god of Time, after we defeated the Demon King, Vigor, on our planet. We passed away in our previous lives, but Vigor made a deal with Chronos, that when identical twins, with one blue and one green eye, each, defeated Vigor, he would be at peace and his reincarnation passed on."

"It appears the young elf is telling the truth, you know how that amulet works." Queen Ella stated to her husband.

"Quite an interesting tale. Is there anything else you wish to tell us?" Luther asked.

"Yes, because we were human in our original lives, we are able to shapeshift to our human form. It is Chronos who changed us into Eleven Royalty and sent us with this amulet to give to you as a gift and token of verification." Mina stated.

"Amazing! They will be able to infiltrate the human lands, undetected and gather valuable information!" Xavier thought.

"It appears you are telling the truth, so welcome, young Mina and young Sora to the Royal Kingdom of Sanctuary. How familiar are you with elven magic and elven culture?"

"Apologies, but we know very little. In our time, elven lore stated they were great beings who strived for peace but were quite powerful and proficient magic users. They were said to be in touch with nature and could also heal others." Sora spoke to the King and Queen for the first time.

"Ha! What year did you come from?" Luther said with a big smile.

"The year 1900, your majesty. We're aware it's year 750 now." Mina said.

"It amazes me that humankind aims to persecute us to extinction, but have lore written over 1000 years from now! The lore is true, but there is much more than that. Our son, Prince Xavier, and our daughter, Princess Stefania will get you up to speed on Elven magic, starting tomorrow." the Queen informed the group.

"It would be my pleasure," Xavier said with a bow.

"We would like to pass this amulet to you, your majesties." Sora and Mina said, in unison.

"Oh, thank you. What a pleasant surprise, but I think it's best suited for my daughter. Xavier, have you seen her?"

"No, I have not. Last I checked she was out mingling with the elves outside the castle. You know she's popular among the people."

"Well, give the two a tour and find your sister. We will set up a bedroom for the two to share and inform the council two new, Royal, Elder Elves have been blessed to us by Eden, the god of Nature." the Queen said with a polite smile.

With the amulet proudly around his neck, Xavier walked with Sora and Mina outside of the castle.

Xavier was around 5`8, had blonde hair, tied up in a bun. He wore a tunic that was Green, with gold embroidery, with a bow and arrow designed into it. The arrow had fangs, which represented the family name.

He also wore a white cloak, with the same symbol, in gold, on the back of the cloak. His tunic was longer than most, as it covered him from his shoulders to the middle of his shins. He was very handsome.

"That's a beautiful cloak Xavier, and a beautiful tunic as well. Do all elves wear similar clothing?" Mina asked.

"Thank you. No, they do not. You will find people who do regular jobs, such as running a shop, working in the market, or forging weapons for our Kingdom wear different types of things. The difference is in the Noble wear, as you saw on my Mother and Father. We are proud of tradition and heritage, but like our ancestors, we value every elf's life." Xavier said, with a confident smile.

"That's amazing. So how many other Elder Royals are there and how big is this council? Are they all of your direct bloodline?" Sora asked Xavier.

"These questions will be answered at a different time, you will learn along your way."

"Are you considered an Elder Noble?"

"Yes and no. You could say I possess the magic and talents an Elder Noble would, but I am of the direct bloodline, and therefore possess the ancient magic of Eden, passed on per ancestor, in the Kingdom of Sanctuary."

"Is that some type of magic we would learn?" Mina asked.

"Eventually, if your training goes well, I'd say yes." Xavier said with a smile, eyes still searching for his sister.

"These villages that we've walked through are truly beautiful and unique. Despite the medieval feel, it's nicer than where we came from. Everyone looks so happy; the shops are lively, and the marketplaces seem to be thriving. Even the taverns have their own unique charm." Sora said.

"Which is why my sister dresses up as a commoner and mingles with the people, she feels it's important to keep hope alive." Xavier said.

After about two hours of sight-seeing and looking for his beloved sister, Sora accidentally bumped into a young woman in her early 20s and Sora repeatedly apologized, as this was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

"No need to be sorry, it was just an accident." the young Elf explained.

"Stefania! Finally, we've been searching for you for hours. Please meet our two new Elder Royal elves, Sora and Mina Hart. They've been sent by Eden, the god of Nature, to aid us in our return to prosperity!" Xavier said cheerfully.

"I would say I don't believe you, but is that amulet what I think it is?" Stefania asked.

"Oh, right, yes. Per our Mother, she wishes you to wear it. It lets the person wearing the amulet know if someone is lying, and if the person wearing the amulet is lying, it will illuminate." Xavier said as he untied the amulet and tied it around his sister's neck.

"It also illuminates when danger is near. Is that not common knowledge about this artifact?" Sora said while scratching his head.

"There are many artifacts that exist, even in our world today. Currently the humans have the 'Hammer of Justice,' a gift bestowed to the great King William by the god of Wrath for uniting the elves and humans hundreds of years ago. Not every detail is known." Stefania explained.

Stefania stood 5 feet 5 inches, had eloquent silver hair, beautiful teal eyes, a perfect smile and many suitors, including former Princes from other Elven Kingdoms. She pushed her pursuers away, as she had no interest in them.

"Well, let's return to the castle and show our guests to their new living quarters, I'm sure they're exhausted." Xavier said, and the four of them began walking back to the castle.

Stefania waved goodbye and Xavier led them to their room and opened the door.

"Let me know if there is anything else you need."

"Thanks, Xavier," the twins said.

Their room was gorgeous. It had a full living room, with eloquent curtains, with the Fang family symbol on all the windows, ornate furniture, a kitchen, two bathrooms and two bedrooms.

"This place is amazing. I can't believe we screwed up so badly the first time." Sora said, while examining his new clothes.

"Yes, it really is, and don't think I didn't see you checking out Stefania," Mina teased, as she also looked through her new clothes.

"Psh, you're one to talk. You couldn't take your eyes off Xavier all day." Sora teased back.

Mina threw a pillow at Sora, and he caught it, threw it back and told Mina goodnight.

They two fell asleep quickly, wondering what tomorrow would bring.
