Upon awakening it was disheartening to learn I'm still restrained to a table. What makes it worse is that Kumas is nowhere to be found. I guess she finished healing me. Although I'm tied up this is the best my body has ever felt. I feel like I could break through these restraints but I won't. I don't have an escape route and I'm still holding out hope the Mahnions don't kill me.
Suddenly the curtain opened up. Before me stood a blonde haired woman, her hair braided in two strands. Her purple eyes locked onto mine.
"Hey, Victoria right! Listen, I'm sorry for disturbing you in such a vulner- complicated state. My condolences to you and your family. I meant you no harm! In fact I was about to help you guys out until I saw you ki- take care of that other guy. Deservingly so, I just got a litt-
"Enough!" Victoria said, in a sharp tone. I immediately obliged. She began loosening the ropes around me. "Follow me, step out of line and I will kill you." She said, coldly.
Free from my shackles, I began following her. After a few minutes of walking Down a stone staircase we arrived in front of a big wooden door guarded by five men. The men wore the same basic stone age attire as Victoria. After a nod from Victoria the men parted and opened the door.
To my surprise the layout of the room resembled a courtroom or that's what it reminded me of.
Planted at the judge's seat was a blonde haired man with a deep scar across the top of his forehead. His expression was calm but there was a distinct fierceness behind his jade eyes.
The stands were filled with men and women even that blonde haired kid sat in the front row. Oddly enough he held a baby that resembled himself in his arms.
" Chieftain, I've brought the prisoner." Victoria announced, taking a slight bow.
"Thank you, daughter , take your seat." The Chieftain replied. Victoria's expression soured when being referred to as his daughter but only for a split second. I doubt anyone noticed it but me since I stood right beside her.
"Let's begin, prisoner you claim to have stumbled upon my children and the enemy by coincidence. Furthermore, you claim to have no knowledge or understanding of this world. Almost as if you're from another world entirely, is that correct?" The chieftain said.
I stepped forward under the watchful eye of Victoria and the rest of the guards. "It's true sir, I'm not from this world and have only been here for a few hours. The world I come from is called earth and from what I've seen so far is completely different from this place." I stated.
Gasp and murmurs filled the room, the Chief raised his hand and everyone went silent. "I'm sure you can understand my skepticism when such a phenomenon has been unheard of. Not even the great spirits have ever told of such…until today."
The Chieftain said, narrowing his eyes. "As I'm sure you've been informed, today is a very difficult day for my family. I had already sentenced you to death but the child of someone I have a great respect for pleaded for your life. Not only, vouching for you but going so far as to say the spirits themselves brought you here to bring about great change to this world."
The room this time remained silent but their faces all harmonized the same stunned expressions. Great change? "This is the first I'm hearing of it. I have no understanding of the spirits or anything in this world." I replied. Inwardly thanking Kuma a thousand times.
"If what you say is true then I don't expect you to. My only concern is whether that great change is good or bad?" The chieftain calmly stated, eyeing me like a hawk.
"Forgive me but I have no idea what type of an effect my presence will have on this world. I can only assure you of two things." I said.
The Chieftains eyes narrowed, his gaze becoming more and more fierce by the second.
I continued "Since I have come to this world I have not once thought of harming you or your people or anyone at that. If given the chance I would return home in a heartbeat." I said, firmly.
My life wasn't so bad, I had a good life! I had just started working my dream job. I rekindled an old flame with my ex-girlfriend. Life was good!
A frightening silence broke out as the Chief stared at me for minutes without saying a word. Then after what felt like an eternity the chieftain stood up "I will allow you to live here under constant supervision until you have either proven your innocence or your falsehood." The chieftain announced, heading for the exit. Stopping midway he turned around and looked directly at me "Let me make one thing clear if it turns out you are an enemy. You're gonna wish I'd put you to death today."
