The Seeds of a New Era
August 17, 2006
The sun had set over the quiet streets of Bozeman, and inside James's small apartment, the energy was palpable. Sunny and James were deep in conversation, working out the details of their new company, Gibson & Liebmann, and the game that would serve as their first big project: Plants vs. Zombies.
"Alright, here's the plan," James said, pacing around his apartment. "We've got the name down—Gibson & Liebmann. It's simple, it's professional, and it sounds like a company that knows what it's doing. But now, we need to get serious about development."
Sunny nodded in agreement, feeling the weight of their venture settling in. It was the beginning of something massive, something that could change the gaming world forever. "I agree. Let's start with the basics. We've got a budget of $50,000 to kick things off. We'll use that to gather a small team and start building out Plants vs. Zombies. It's a simple concept, but it's fun and addicting—perfect for what we need right now."
"Sounds good. But I'm thinking we might need more than just money. We'll need talent. A developer, a designer... someone with experience," James replied.
Sunny smiled. "I've been thinking the same thing. I've got a few people in mind. We can start small and grow from there. Let's make sure we have the right people on the team."
Recap of the System's Progress
As Sunny sat back in his chair, he couldn't help but think about the mysterious system that had been working for him since his 21st birthday. The system had been a game-changer in every sense. It had been 60 days since it had activated, and Sunny had already seen the results.
Starting with $2,000 from the system and minus $50,000 as his personal investment into the company, Sunny had kept a close eye on his assets. Every day, the system had been adding a 10% interest to his cash, compounding and growing his wealth.
He opened his laptop and checked his current balance.
Initial System Balance: $553.000
Company Seed Money: $50,000
After 60 days, the system had added approximately $.550.000 to his system balance,
Sunny leaned back, staring at the numbers on the screen. The system was working. His assets were growing, slowly but surely. This was just the beginning, and the opportunities were endless.
He thought about how he could use these growing resources to further invest in the company, hire talent, and make the best games possible. Everything was aligning perfectly.
Finding the First Staff Member
Over the next few days, Sunny and James focused on assembling their team. They couldn't afford to hire an entire crew yet, but they were determined to find the right people. Their first hire was George Fan, a former Blizzard Entertainment employee with a wealth of experience in game design.
James and Sunny met George at a local café, where he told them about his time at Blizzard working on Warcraft and StarCraft. He had left the company after realizing that he wanted to work on something more independent, where he could contribute to the creation of original, innovative games.
"George, we need someone with your experience," Sunny said, leaning forward. "We're building something big here—something that will change the gaming landscape—and we want you to be a part of it."
George smiled. "I like the sound of that. I've been looking for something like this. It's time to take a risk and work on a project that's truly special. I'm in."
With George onboard, they had their first key team member. George would be in charge of designing the mechanics of Plants vs. Zombies and handling the overall direction of the game's development. His experience at Blizzard made him the perfect fit for the job.
