Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Unlikely Savior

Lee Hwan stretched, groaning as the sun filtered through the trees. It was a peaceful morning, and for the first time in a long while, he felt like he could actually relax.

As he slowly got to his feet, he looked around at the small clearing he'd decided to nap in. The goblin raiders had passed by — or so the "alert" system had said. He didn't even bother looking for them.

After all, he was way too comfortable to care.

Lee Hwan sighed. "I can't even escape these system notifications in peace…"

He checked his stats casually. He was already way stronger than anyone in the capital. Hell, he was stronger than the king. And that wasn't even counting the ridiculous mana and special abilities he hadn't even started using yet.

"I could probably rule this world, but… nah." Lee Hwan stretched again and picked up his snack. "I just want some peace."

Back in the Royal Capital…

"Your Majesty, we've confirmed the goblins are retreating," a captain of the guard reported nervously.

The king slammed his fist on the table. "What do you mean retreating? We had the entire army in place!"

"The goblin king's dead," the captain hesitated. "It seems... the Trash Hero did something, Your Majesty."

The king blinked, staring at him. "Lee Hwan? The lazy fool who got thrown out? How?"

"We… don't know, Your Majesty," the captain continued. "The goblin king's entire horde was wiped out in a single moment. He never lifted a finger."

"What is this madness?" the king muttered, rubbing his temples. "That man… He's a joke. How did he—"

Before he could finish his sentence, an attendant burst in, breathless.

"Your Majesty! A new threat approaches the capital!"

"What now?" the king groaned.

"It's... a giant wyvern!" The attendant was practically shaking with fear.

"A wyvern?" The king's face turned pale. "We're done for. We have nothing to fight that!"

Outside the City…

Lee Hwan was lazily finishing his breakfast when a loud roar shook the ground beneath him. He looked up, a giant shadow passing overhead.

"Oh, great. A wyvern. This is why I don't like leaving the kingdom."

The wyvern swooped low, its wings creating massive gusts that sent trees flying. A crowd of soldiers was already gathering near the gates, readying their spears. But they stood no chance.

Lee Hwan yawned and glanced at the creature, slowly standing up.

Ding!

You are in the vicinity of a wyvern. Do you wish to engage in combat?

*- Yes

- No

"Not like I have a choice now," Lee Hwan grumbled, tapping 'Yes' while stretching.

The wyvern screeched and dive-bombed, heading straight for the soldiers.

Lee Hwan sighed and reached into his inventory. A simple thought and a magical sword appeared in his hand. He wasn't even planning to use it, but the system gave it to him anyway.

Ding!

You have unlocked the "Sword of the Lazy God" for not using combat for 10 minutes.

- Weapon Effect: Increases lethality the less you try.

"Yeah, that sounds about right," Lee Hwan muttered, barely paying attention to the wyvern's descent.

Just as the wyvern opened its maw, ready to unleash a deadly flame on the city, Lee Hwan lazily flicked his wrist.

A beam of black light shot from the sword — the wyvern screeched, disintegrating into nothing.

Ding!

Wyvern defeated.

+100,000 EXP for slaying an A-Class monster.

Level Up! Level Up!

Lee Hwan sighed. "Not even a challenge."

Back at the Castle...

"WHAT JUST HAPPENED?" The king stared at the sky, speechless. "That wyvern... It was an S-Class monster!"

"Your Majesty… it was Lee Hwan," the captain said, dumbfounded. "With… one swing."

The king clenched his fist. "What kind of monster have we cast out?!"

Meanwhile, outside the city...

Lee Hwan turned around, yawning again.

"Well, that was fun. Time for a nap."
