I stepped outside! I did it. I looked around and suddenly saw a red blinking thing on top of a tree.
What the hell is that? What's that red blinking thing? I walked towards the tree, but it stopped blinking. I looked around the tree trying to find it but it was nowhere to be seen.
Damn! where did it go?! I swear there was something red on top of that tree. I wish it wasn't dark outside, I can't see anything.
I don't know how but i wasn't afraid of the dark. My mom made it sound like it was hell, almost reminding me everyday that i should never step outside when it was dark. But that never stopped me from dreaming how beautiful the stars would look in the night, or how the "city" would look in the night sky. Now i can finally achieve those dreams. I guess why i didn't feel afraid in that moment is because i was curious how the "city" looked at night.
Not so long after i gave up on the search of this red blinking thing. I wanted to see the stars, the "city" but first i needed to get out of this forest. The forest was huge, it wasn't some small forest or anything. On foot it took almost half an hour to reach the city.
Well i better be going now, before mom comes back home and scoldes me.
These trees are huge! How have i not noticed them being this big before? maybe it's because of the moonlight making them look big, or. Wait! Maybe it's the moonlight making them bigger... LITERALLY, ,maybe it's the same concept with the moon current phases! Okay... now i'm getting to ahead of myself. It's probably just the light reflecting on the trees and making them look bigger.
Anyways, time to get out of here!
While i was trying to find my way out of the forest, i kept seeing these red blinking things. They wouldn't stop, it felt like they were everywhere. But the more i kept seeing them, i could've sworn i've seen them somewhere else before. Way before i went outside. I wanted to know where i've seen this red blinking thing before! But i just couldn't remember.
And everytime i stopped to look at one closely they would all dissapear. It was like they just vanished somehow. It made me frustrated so much that i stopped caring about these red blinking things.
After running in the forest for what felt like eternity i finally made it out. The first thing i did was to look up to the stars, but there was none. I was shocked. In school they told us that stars only come out when it's night time. But there was none.
*Now that i writing this, i see that it was very obvious*
Wait where is the stars? they told me that there was stars when it was night time. Oh man i was so looking forward to seeing the stars and how beautiful they are. Maybe next time. Well time to head to the city and just wander around, maybe there are some shops that only open when it's night time. I can check them out i guess.
I started to head to the city suprisingly enough i saw no one when i was heading to the city.
Hm? where is everybody? don't tell me that everybody is asleep now. The one day i can come out when it's night time, and everybody is asleep... Great. Well i hope there is people in the city at least.
Huh? what is that? Is that smoke? Is it from that explosion i heard earlier? probably, i want to check it out but it's too far i can barely see it from here, and no doubt mom will be back before i can even go there!
Suddenly a man popped up.
Hello! young man would you like to buy some tea fro-
While the guy was greeting me, he was looking down into his bag that was full of tea packets. After he was done taking out some tea packets to give to me he said something that creeped me out to my core.
