Two Days Later
Nasika Town Port
"Wehahahaha…"
Burgess looked at the large ship in front of him, raised his arms, and laughed loudly:
"Doc Q, we finally found a big ship! Let's snatch it!"
Doc Q was lying on Stronger (his sickly horse), looking like he was terminally ill and barely clinging to life.
"Burgess… I'm weak and frail…"
"So I'll leave it to you…"
His words were feeble and broken, like he could drop dead any second.
"All right, you stay here then!"
Burgess laughed and strode forward with big steps.
When he reached the shore, he looked at the workers on the ship and shouted:
"Listen up, everyone on that ship! I'm taking this ship, so get the hell off it!"
The workers stopped what they were doing and looked down at him.
They were about to curse him out, but another voice interrupted first.
"You can have the ship… if you beat me."
Chris slowly stepped forward, his expression calm:
"But if you lose, then you'll obediently become my subordinate."
As he spoke, he glanced at Doc Q on the side—sure enough, he looked like a total sickly wreck.
Two days ago, Chris had told Baccarat about his upcoming plans.
And now, with Burgess and Doc Q showing up, it just confirmed the power of the Lucky-Lucky Fruit.
It really did bring good fortune.
"Captain, that guy's way too arrogant! Beat him up!"
"Boss Chris, you're the strongest! Go for it!"
"What kind of trash dares challenge our captain? Sick of living, huh?"
"Boys, this is gonna be a good show! Come out and watch!"
Burgess got excited—he loved fighting and wouldn't pass up Chris's challenge.
"Kid, this ship is mine now. I, Burgess, accept your offer!"
"Fall before me! Wehahahaha~~"
As soon as he spoke, he charged like an arrow from a bow, rushing straight at Chris.
His massive, sandbag-sized fists were clenched tight, his face wild and crazed.
Chris kept his arms folded, glanced at Burgess, then turned calmly to look at Doc Q.
He said with a composed voice:
"Watch closely, both of you. I'm going to show you a power that only the strong possess."
"This is… Haki!"
As he finished speaking, Burgess's giant fist came flying toward him.
"Enough talk! Just go down!"
Chris said flatly:
"You'll strike from my left."
As soon as the words left his mouth, he tilted his head slightly to the right.
"What?!"
Burgess gasped, face full of shock.
His punch had completely missed.
What just happened?
How did this guy dodge it?
A flurry of questions filled his mind.
And not just him—Doc Q, watching from the side, looked equally stunned.
He knew exactly how powerful Burgess was.
But the result... was unbelievable.
Chris ignored their shock and continued calmly:
"This power allows one to feel the presence of others more intensely. It's called Observation Haki."
Burgess growled in disbelief and roared:
"No way I'm missing again!"
His fists rained down like a storm, fast as lightning, fierce and terrifying—if even one hit landed, it would be over.
Chris, however, still had his arms crossed.
He ducked, tilted, shifted slightly—effortlessly dodging each blow like he was strolling in a garden.
"When enhanced, this power can sense enemies outside your field of vision, determine their numbers, and even anticipate their next move."
"In some regions, it's also called Mantra. Different names, same meaning."
The crowd watching was stunned by the scene unfolding before them.
They were all frozen in shock.
"What's going on? This is insane!"
"Does the captain have three eyes or something? How else could he do that?!"
"Three eyes? Didn't Captain Chris say it's called Haki… Wait, which Haki was it again?"
"Observation Haki! That's what Boss Chris called it!"
"So strong! Captain, I worship you!"
Baccarat stood quietly to the side, her beautiful eyes shimmering. All she could see was that tall, powerful figure.
As expected, her instincts were right.
Chris was the one she had been waiting for all along.
Doc Q couldn't lie down anymore—he sat up, his weary face filled with horror.
"Observation Haki…"
He thought hard but couldn't recall ever hearing of such a thing. He had no idea such power even existed.
Then Burgess shouted out:
"Why is this happening?!"
He had stopped attacking.
He couldn't even land a single hit on the young man in front of him. What was the point of continuing?
Frustrated. Furious to the extreme.
He desperately wanted to understand what was going on.
"Just now was Observation Haki. Now, let's talk about another kind of Haki."
Chris raised his right hand—instantly, it turned pitch-black, gleaming with a metallic sheen…
