Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A Desperate Deal

The grand wedding celebrations were in full swing outside. Guests were being welcomed with lavish decorations, music, and an air of festivity. But inside a secluded room, a storm was brewing.

Prem Chaudhary, the powerful and influential real estate tycoon, sat anxiously, waiting for his son, Monty. As soon as Monty entered the room, Prem quickly locked the door behind him. The young man, dressed in a crisp white sherwani, looked at his father's tense expression and immediately sensed something was terribly wrong.

Monty:"Father, why do you look so worried? Is everything alright?"

Prem let out a long, exhausted sigh. He took his son's hands in his own and looked into his eyes with a grave expression.

Prem:"Monty, I need your help to save our empire. You are the only one who can do it. Will you help me?"

Monty frowned, confusion evident on his face.

Monty:"Of course, Father. You know I would do anything for our family. But what exactly is going on?"

Prem took another deep breath, as if gathering courage to say what came next.

Prem:"You have to marry Romi."

Monty's eyes widened in shock. He let out a nervous chuckle, convinced his father was joking. But Prem's serious gaze told him otherwise.

Monty:"Are you out of your mind, Father? How can I marry a man? This wedding was meant for Preeti!"

Prem clenched his fists, his face turning red with frustration.

Prem:"Preeti ran away, Monty! She left us humiliated, abandoned her responsibility, and put our family's honor at stake. She loves a woman! I knew about it before, but I chose to ignore it for the sake of our reputation. Now, she's gone, and if this wedding doesn't happen, our empire, our name—everything will crumble!"

Monty's heart pounded. He had always known Preeti was different, but he never imagined she would take such a drastic step.

Monty:"Father, if you knew she loved someone else, why did you force her into this marriage? That would have ruined not just her life but also Romi's."

Prem:"I don't need your lectures, Monty!" he snapped. "I did what was best for this family! Now you will do the same."

Monty took a step back, shaking his head in disbelief.

Monty:"No. I won't do it. I have a girlfriend, and I love her. This—this is insane!"

Prem's face darkened. His voice dropped to a cold whisper.

Prem:"You don't have a choice, Monty. You will be the bride until I find Preeti and bring her back. Until then, you have to keep up this charade."

Monty felt his stomach drop. His father wasn't asking—he was ordering. His hands trembled as he tried to reason with him.

Monty:"Father, do you hear yourself? The same man who was always against same-gender marriages is now forcing his own son into one just to save his reputation?"

Prem slammed his fist against the table, making Monty flinch.

Prem:"I don't need your moral lectures! I have worked my whole life to build this empire, and I will not let it crumble because of some foolish love story! Do as I say!"

Tears welled up in Monty's eyes. His entire life, he had obeyed his father without question. But this—this was too much.

Before he could protest further, the door opened, and a group of makeup artists walked in.

Prem turned to them, his voice low and threatening.

Prem:"Make him look exactly like Preeti. No one should be able to tell the difference. And remember—if anyone finds out about this secret, you will pay with your lives."

The makeup artists exchanged nervous glances but nodded in fear. They had heard enough stories about Prem Chaudhary's ruthlessness to know he wasn't making empty threats.

Monty's legs felt weak as he sat down, his mind spinning. This couldn't be happening. His father was truly going to make him do this.

The lead makeup artist hesitated before starting, her hands shaking.

Makeup Artist:"Sir, are you sure? I mean—this is risky."

Prem:"Just do your job and keep your mouth shut."

Monty swallowed the lump in his throat. As the makeup brushes touched his skin, he felt like he was being erased—his identity, his freedom, his choices—all disappearing under layers of foundation, lipstick, and jewelry.

He looked at himself in the mirror as they transformed him into Preeti. The resemblance was uncanny. He truly looked like his sister.

Tears slipped down his cheeks, but no one seemed to care.

His father had already made up his mind.

And Monty… had just lost everything.
