"This is me," Allison said as she pointed out her apartment building.
I pulled her car into an empty space and went around to open her door.
"Here, let me help you."
I stuck my hand out for her to take, but she pushed it away.
"Thanks, but I got it."
She stuck one foot out and braced her hand on the door. As she tried to stand up out of the car, her ankle went sideways and she fell out onto the ground.
"Are you ok?" I stifled a laugh and tried to help her up, but she pushed me off.
"I'm good. It's just these stupid heels."
She was very drunk and apparently very stubborn as well because she kept refusing my assistance.

"Are you sure?" I asked her with raised eyebrows.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head. "I'll take that as a yes, then."
She pushed the button for the elevator and uncontrollably swayed as she waited. This time I didn't try to help steady her.
The door popped open with a ding and we stepped inside. Allison was trying to push the floor number but ended up selecting two others before landing on the one she wanted.
"Um...which floor are we going to?"
"Nine. I know I accidentally hit a couple more buttons, but it'll be fine," she waved her hand dismissively as the doors shut and the elevator jolted upwards, causing her to crash into me.
