Allison's POV
"Another shot of tequila please!" I ordered from the bartender as I slapped some money on the bar top.
"Whoa, Al, you better slow down. That's your fifth one in 10 minutes! Not to mention, the two beers you've had and you've only been here 30 minutes!" Katie exclaimed, astonished.
I was actually starting to feel quite tipsy. It was nice because it meant I didn't have to think about Mason and all of my issues with relationships.
"Actually, this is my second beer and it's not gone yet," I replied as I held up my beer bottle and waved it in her face.
Katie pushed it away. "Yeah, well, I've been here for hours now and you, my dear, are the one that's trashed. It doesn't make sense."
"It's cuz I'm drinking to drown my sorrows, Katie."
She looked at me confused. "What happened with Mason?"
Ugh, Mason....
"He wants more than I can offer."
Katie raised an eyebrow at me. "More than you can offer? What is it that he wants?"
"A relationship."
"And you can't offer him that?"
"No."
"What can you offer him then?"
I sprinkled salt on my hand, licked it off, knocked back my shot and sucked on the lime.
"Another, please!" I slid the shot glass toward the bartender and turned to Katie, sighing. "I'm not the committing kind of girl, Katie. I can be his f*ck buddy and that's it."
The bartender's eyes went wide as he gave me my refill.
"She's kidding!" Katie told him, faking a laugh.
The guy next to me spoke up. "I couldn't help but overhear your problem."
I looked up at him. He was this punk rockstar look-alike with a fire engine red mohawk, tons of piercings in almost every surface imaginable and tattoos that covered his body. He was also wearing a leather jacket that I was pretty sure wasn't real leather.
I smirked at him, amused. "What problem is that exactly?"
"Well, if you need someone to be your f*ck buddy with no strings attached, I'd be happy to help you out."
I rolled my eyes and turned my attention back to Katie who was also rolling her eyes.
"Anyways...he's amazing and all. Fantastic in the sack. Massive d*ck. I could seriously f*ck him forever, but I can't be his girlfriend. I like to have s*x with other people, too. It's fun!"
"Ahem…," the sleazy guy next to me interrupted. "I have a huge d*ck and would rock your world, baby and you can have s*x with other people with me if you want."
I didn't acknowledge him and remained facing Katie while he spoke, but then, he touched my hand, trying to hold it. "Don't touch me, perv."
"Hey, baby, you're the one looking for a guy to bang. I'm just offering up my services," he grinned, still touching me.
I turned on him. "Not from you. I can get any guy I want. I don't want you. Now, let go of my hand."
"You heard her," a voice came from behind me.
I whipped around. There he was, sexy as can be, standing before me, and there I was trying to drown him out while he came looking for me.
"Mason…," I said, surprised.
"Mind your own business, man," the guy next to me said to him.
Mason narrowed his eyes at him. "She clearly isn't interested. So, leave her alone. I won't say it again."
The muscles in his enormous biceps flexed slightly, almost as if to say: 'these guns will mess you up.'
The guy's eyes flicked down to Mason's arms, then back to his eyes. "Whatever, dude. She's out looking for some. I was just saying I'd be willing, but you can have the slut; don't matter to me."
"What did you just call her?!" Mason shouted at him, his jaw clenching.
"I just call it like I see it," the guy replied, nonchalantly while shrugging a shoulder.
Mason reared back to hit him and the guy flinched, but I reached out and touched Mason's arm.
"Mason, stop! He's not worth it."
The sleazy guy took advantage of the distraction and ran off before Mason could get a chance to pummel him. I watched him slide into an empty seat next to another girl at the other end of the bar. As he spoke to her, she turned away from him, rolling her eyes as well.
"He called you a slut," Mason said, angrily.
"Yeah, so what? I kinda am. I'm not afraid to admit it. What are you doing here, Mason?" I asked, gulping down my shot and ordering another.
"I need to talk to you."
"I'm just gonna go find Evan," Katie said, standing up to sneak away.
I shot her an ugly look, but she just smiled at me and shrugged her shoulders.
Bitch...
"I don't want to talk to you, Mason."
I paid my tab, drank my shot, grabbed my beer and headed away from the bar.
I don't remember being so dizzy when I was sitting.
"But I do. I need you to listen to me, please," Mason begged, following close behind me.
I staggered through the crowd, bumped into someone and dropped my beer on the floor. It shattered everywhere, drawing attention from those around me.
"F*ck!"
Mason was on me, holding my arm to steady me. I began walking towards the door with him next to me the whole way.
"I can walk on my own. Thanks."
Of course, Mason ignored my comment and continued to help me. We stepped outside and the cool air hit me like a ton of bricks. All of a sudden, the world was swirling around me.
"Hey, hey…," Mason stabilized me and I leaned into him.
He encompassed me with his arms. I weirdly felt safe with him. That was so foreign to me.
"Mason, I need to go home."
He looked at me tenderly. Those big, dark, chocolate eyes of his staring deep into my soul.
"I'll take you," he said, not seeming as sad as the last time.
