Chapter 9 - Bare Intentions

(Lilac's POV)

My heart pounded as I stood there, inches from him. The air was thick with tension, every breath I took filled with a mix of excitement and nerves. This was the moment I had been working toward for so long.

Tom's body was still, his eyes half-lidded from the wine, but I could see the flicker of confusion in them, the uncertainty. He had let his guard down for just a moment, but I knew that this was where the real test would begin.

I had already helped him into bed, made sure he was comfortable. Now, I needed to make sure he didn't pull away. I needed to push him further, beyond the hesitation and the guilt that I could see lingering in his eyes.

I took a slow, deliberate step toward the foot of the bed, my fingers brushing against the hem of my dress. I could feel the heat of his gaze following me, his breath shallow, his body tense as he watched my every move.

I didn't look back at him as I slowly undid the clasp at the back of my dress. The fabric fell away in soft folds, revealing the pale skin of my back. I could feel the weight of his eyes on me, but I didn't let that stop me. This was it.

With a small, deliberate turn, I let the dress slip to the floor, leaving me standing in front of him in nothing but my underwear. The soft lace of my bra and panties clung to my body, and the cool air of the room made my skin tingle with anticipation.

I could see his surprise, his confusion, but beneath it all, there was something else—something I had been waiting for. Desire.

Tom's breath hitched, and for the briefest moment, I thought he might say something, might ask me what I was doing. But the words never came. Instead, he remained silent, his eyes locked on me, taking in every inch of my exposed skin. I could see him swallow hard, his chest rising and falling as his gaze dropped to my body and then back to my face.

This was what I had been waiting for. This was the moment when he would no longer be able to resist.

I took another step forward, my bare feet barely making a sound on the cool floor. My heart was in my throat now, my body trembling with excitement, but I didn't let that stop me. I reached the side of the bed, close enough now that I could feel the heat radiating off his body.

"Tom," I whispered, my voice barely audible, but full of desire. I took a deep breath, leaning closer to him, until I could feel the warmth of his breath against my skin. "I want to stay with you tonight. I want to be with you."

His eyes flickered with something—surprise, fear, uncertainty—but there was no hesitation in my own gaze. I wanted this, wanted him, and I wasn't going to back down.

I leaned in even closer, my lips brushing against his ear as I whispered, "Please, let me stay."

Before he could respond, I pressed my lips to his, soft at first, tentative, but then deepening the kiss as I felt his lips part under mine. The shock in his eyes was still there, but as I kissed him, I could feel the shift—the tension melting, the confusion turning into something else entirely. His arms moved as if to push me away, but instead, they slid around my waist, pulling me closer, his lips responding to mine with an intensity that surprised me.

I moaned softly against his lips, feeling the heat of his body, the strength in his arms as they wrapped around me. His touch was hesitant at first, but it quickly became more insistent, as if he were trying to convince himself that this was okay. That this wasn't a mistake.

My hands moved instinctively, sliding up his chest, feeling the strength of his muscles beneath his shirt. I reached for the fabric, my fingers trembling slightly as I tugged at the buttons, desperate to feel his skin beneath my hands.

"Wait," he breathed, pulling back just slightly. His voice was hoarse, laced with confusion and desire. "Lilac… what are you doing?"

I didn't give him a chance to say more. I kissed him again, this time deeper, more urgently, my body pressing against his. I could feel his hesitation, the battle inside him, but I didn't care. I wasn't about to stop now.

I needed him. More than I had ever needed anything in my life.

And this time, I wasn't going to let him pull away.

I pulled back just enough to look into his eyes, my hand still resting against his chest. I could feel the rapid beat of his heart, matching mine in tempo. He was just as lost in this moment as I was.

"I want you, Tom," I whispered, my voice trembling slightly, but firm. "I've wanted you for so long, and now… I can't wait any longer."

He looked at me, his expression torn. His lips parted as if he were about to say something, but the words never came. Instead, his hand moved to the back of my neck, gently pulling me back to him

And then, finally, he kissed me back with the same fervor I had shown him.

My heart raced as I felt the heat between us ignite, the last of his resistance breaking down. The kiss deepened, and before I knew it, I was straddling him, my hands roaming over his chest, eager to touch every inch of him.

This was the moment. The one I had planned for. The one where I would take what I wanted.

And nothing, not even his doubts, would stop me now.
