The man looks at him in disbelief.
"Do you have any idea what that means?"
"You will probably consume my soul."
"Hehehehe you might get eternal rest if I kill you here. But if I take your soul you will cease to exist boy."
"No one cares about me in the first place. Also there are things I need to do. I wanna have my revenge on my father. I wanna eat delicious foods, marry beautiful women and live fulfilling wealthy life. I have my goals and I want to live."
Satisfied by the answer the man suddenly hugs Ran. Ran reacts in disgust. He can't even hide it as the man was too bloody and smelly to the point Ran almost puked.
"It seems you can't just take my soul right? Some sort to contract maybe?"
"You are very observative boy. It might be painful so get ready."
Ran nods.
"Do your thing"
Suddenly the man cuts his chest open with just his hand.
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Ran screams in pain as he looks at his internal organs. His ribs almost shattered and his heart beating erratically but it wasn't over there. He inserts his hand inside and crushes his heart.
Ran falls down in pain and pukes hefty amount of blood. It feels like he is being suffocated by his own blood and his chest completely hollow. Enduring everything and gripping his hand firmly he accepts whatever changes the man is doing.

The man clearly seems to enjoy tormenting the boy.
Ran's conscious slowly fade away. His closing eyes sees the man putting a shadowy thing inside his chest.
"This is an artificial heart created by part of me. This will grant you powers you need to achieve your goals. When you die, your soul will be trapped in this heart and I will consume you. Good luck boy!!!!"
That's the last thing he hears before he faints.

1st person POV....
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I wake up in scream. It feels like it was a dream. But clearly it's not. I can see myself sleeping in this pool of blood.
That was a bloody massacre.
Even though I want to believe it was just a dream, I can't help it. I must do something and kill that man myself someday.
This heart beat I feel in my chest. It's not mine anymore as I can clearly see my crushed heart in the ground. Although I kinda regret making the contract but it was necessary to survive.
Also the man said I could get some sort of powers right? I can feel my body radiating ominous aura.
I feel like I can destroy this entire place. But for now it's just a small amount of power. He sowed seed, now I have to grow it and become the strongest. Then I will kill you.

I head toward the mercenary hall in bloddy mess to confront the two brothers.
When I entered hall there was no one. It seems they took their belongings and ran away abandoning this place.
I can notice some people looking at my tattered clothes and dried out blood around my body.
I approach one of the women who was staring at men.
"H-hello I want to know about the leaders of spotlight mercenary guild. Where did they go?"
The woman freaks out.
"I-I don't know go away"
She says as she runs away.
What was the point of staring at me if you are not interested to talk.

The only one who can give me information about the client who hired them are those two brothers. I have to find them somehow.
For now I should regain my strength.
The world is small so I will eventually meet them so I have to get stronger so I can confront them.
There is no reason to live in this place anymore. This is not my home anymore.
I am hated here. I should probably leave this place now.
