"Boss lady, that car in front is way too arrogant. Hurry up and teach him a lesson—show him how badass you are!" a blond-haired punk yelled, fuming as the sports car, Venom, roared past them with a thunderous engine growl.
"What are you yelling for? If you had a car like that, you'd probably act even worse."
The girl he called "boss lady" rolled her eyes and smacked him on the back of the head.
"Ow! Come on, that hurt!"
"Quit whining. You don't even know what you're talking about."
"Okay, okay… wait, you know that car?"
The blond guy rubbed his head, puzzled. He wasn't the brightest—guys like him had dropped out of school ages ago and spent their time hanging around the streets. Top-tier cars weren't really his thing.
"That's a Venom. One of the best supercars money can buy. There are only five in the whole country. It's worth millions," He Yuyan—known as the boss lady—said with admiration in her voice. Her eyes sparkled as she watched the car disappear down the road. "Owning one of those… that's the dream. Heck, even just borrowing one for a week would make me the queen of the street."
The blond punk's mouth dropped open. "Millions? You gotta be kidding me… That's crazy!"
Meanwhile, across town, FairyRong had already freshened up and headed out after getting Jack's call. She now stood quietly in front of the Liverton College of Arts, looking around with a mixture of nervousness and excitement.
She didn't have to wait long before a shiny black car slowed down beside her.
"Hey there, gorgeous. Need a ride?" A slick-haired guy leaned out the window, flashing a cocky grin.
FairyRong gave him a cold glance. Her soft expression instantly hardened. "No, thanks. I'm waiting for someone."
She recognized him. Just a few days ago, she saw him picking up another girl from school, probably using the same sleazy lines. She hated guys like that—always showing off, thinking money and a car could buy them affection.
"Aw, don't be shy. Come on, babe. Hop in. I'll take you wherever you want to go." The guy leaned a bit closer, eyes raking over her as if she were a prize.
FairyRong was dressed simply but tastefully—a light beige dress that swayed gently in the breeze, her high ponytail bouncing as she shifted her weight from foot to foot. She had this natural sweetness about her, like the adorable girl next door you couldn't help but notice.
The guy's heart skipped a beat. She's perfect. This is fate. His confidence soared. He'd begged his mom non-stop to buy him this car, and just a few days ago, it helped him score a freshman girl. Today, he was convinced history would repeat itself.
But FairyRong didn't even look amused.
"I said no. Get out of the way. I'm not interested." Her tone was sharper now, her patience clearly gone.
The guy was about to argue when her phone rang.
"I'm outside the gates of Liverton College of Arts. Where are you?" Jack's voice came through clearly.
"I'm here too! I'm right at the front!" FairyRong's eyes lit up with happiness.
The guy saw the way her expression changed. He became even more obsessed. She's the one. I'll do whatever it takes to get her.
Then came Jack's voice again: "I see you."
Right on cue, the deep roar of a supercar echoed as the Venom pulled up beside them like something out of a movie.
The guy turned and gasped. "No way… is that a freaking Venom? Who is this dude?!"
His heart sank. The Venom was a legendary car—ultra-rare, insanely expensive, and the definition of status. If he had that kind of car, he wouldn't even need to flirt—girls would throw themselves at him.
Jack rolled down the window, waving his phone with a relaxed smile. "Fairy!"
FairyRong turned toward the voice. Her breath caught in her throat.Oh my god… he's so good-looking. And that car… is his?
"Fairy, you're my little angel!" Jack called again, teasingly.
"You… you're Jack?" FairyRong finally found her voice, her eyes glowing.
"That's me. Hop in—let's grab a bite."
"O-Okay!" she said, almost tripping over her own feet as she hurried over and carefully slid into the car, sitting upright and stiff like she didn't want to damage anything.
The Venom's engine roared to life again, and they sped off.
The slick-haired guy stood frozen, unable to move. She just… left. Just like that.
Now he understood. That was the real difference. Some people lived in a world he couldn't even dream of touching.
Inside the Venom, Jack glanced at FairyRong. "What do you feel like eating?"
"Uhm… I haven't really thought about it," she replied shyly. Her heart was pounding. She stole a glance at Jack—so handsome, so confident. Was this the feeling of falling for someone?
Her cheeks flushed bright pink.
Jack noticed. "You okay? Are you too hot?"
"N-No," she mumbled, looking down, barely audible.
Jack chuckled softly. "Alright, I know a great place. You'll love it."
He turned the car and drove straight toward Spring Blossom Restaurant, one of the finest spots in Liverton City.
When they arrived, the valet eagerly opened the door for FairyRong, clearly impressed by the car. Jack led her inside, where a host immediately showed them to a cozy window seat.
The view was beautiful, the atmosphere romantic.
Jack casually ordered a few of the restaurant's signature dishes.
FairyRong looked around with wide eyes. "This place… it must be super expensive," she whispered, covering her mouth with her hand.
Jack laughed at how adorably cautious she was. "Don't worry—it's not. Just enjoy."
He gave her a warm smile that made her heart flutter.
FairyRong hesitated for a moment, then suddenly remembered something important. Her expression turned serious. "Jack… about the tip you gave me… it was way too much. I can't accept it."
Jack raised an eyebrow, surprised. In a world full of people chasing every dollar, her sincerity was rare. And it made him like her even more.
"I never take money back once I've given it," he said firmly.
"But… it was just too much," she said again, biting her lip.
Jack looked at her, eyes twinkling with mischief. "Alright, how about this—you can pay me back… by becoming my girlfriend."
FairyRong froze. Her brain stopped working. Was that… a real confession? What should I say? What if I say yes too quickly? Will he think I'm easy? But if I say no… will I miss my chance?
Her heart was in chaos.
Jack saw her silent and thought maybe he went too far. "Fairy, I—"
Before he could finish, she suddenly looked up, eyes shining.
"I'd love to!"
