Jay-jay's POV
Dismissal time! The best part of the school day. Dismissal! Dismissal!
"I'll be the one to take Jay-jay home." Percy said seriously to Yuri.
Yuri simply nodded without a word and looked at me with sad eyes. I rolled my eyes at him.
Percy was glaring at Felix, and his brother was returning the same look. They've been like that for a while now, as if their eyes were having a sword fight.
Looks like they're about to fight.
"Come with us," Percy ordered.
"We have somewhere to go," Felix answered seriously.
"What if I cripple you so you can't go anywhere?" Percy threatened his brother.
"What's your problem?!"
"You don't want to listen to me!"
"Percy."
We all turned to look at the one who spoke. It was none other than the King of the Dimunyung Ulupong. His expression was serious, one hand in his pocket while the other held his bag.
"...Felix can handle himself," he said as he walked past us.
"Take Jay-jay home. We're leaving," Felix told Percy before walking away.
We were left in the classroom as they all walked out one after another. Percy and I exchanged glances.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" he asked.
"No. Why would I care what you're thinking?" I replied, making him frown.
"You're impossible to talk to," he said sarcastically.
Of course! It's me we're talking about.
I smirked slightly, but he just scoffed at me. He started walking, and I quickly followed.
"What are you thinking?" I asked.
"I'm going to follow them. You should go home," he answered, quickening his pace.
I also walked faster to keep up. "What?! I'm coming with you!"
"You're so stubborn! You can't!"
"I'm coming!"
"I said you can't!"
"I'm coming!"
"You're so annoying!"
"I'm coming!"
He stopped walking and glared at me in frustration. "Fine! Fine!"
I smiled and walked ahead of him. As if he could ever win against me. I'm way more stubborn!
Outside the school, his car was parked. Since I was ahead of him, I had to wait for him to catch up before I could get in.
"You're so slow!" I complained when he reached me.
"Wow, really?" he said, imitating Babalu's voice.
Haha... It suits him.
He opened the car door, and I got in first. He followed and started the engine, but we didn't move right away.
"Aren't we leaving yet?"
"You can walk, but I'll take the car," he said sarcastically, so I punched his arm with all my strength.
"OUCH!" he yelled. "The fvck! What's wrong with you?!"
"I'm talking to you properly, and you're spouting nonsense!"
He rolled his eyes at me while rubbing his arm. We waited a few more minutes before he finally started driving.
He was driving really slowly. I was about to complain when I realized why—he was following one of the Ulupong's cars. We couldn't get too close, or they'd notice us.
This Percy really thinks ahead!
We had been driving for quite a while, but the car we were following still hadn't stopped. Then, suddenly, it turned. We followed.
There were no more houses around—just piles of broken-down cars, some flattened and stacked on top of each other.
'Parts for Sale'
'Available Tires'
I had no idea where we were, but all I could see were signs advertising car parts for sale or places that bought them.
"What is this place?" I asked Percy.
"A garage and an impound lot. This is where old cars are brought for disposal."
I looked around again. Mountains of scrap metal and car shells surrounded us. Percy drove cautiously and then suddenly turned off the engine.
He went completely silent as he scanned the area. I wasn't used to seeing him like this. I was more used to his goofy and corny side.
Maybe I should get him drunk?
"What are we going to do? Just sit here?"
He gave a slight nod. "Do you know how to drive?"
"N-no. Why?"
"Nothing."
This guy is so weird...
I started to feel strange, like I was getting nervous. We looked like fools just sitting inside the car, waiting. I heard my phone ring, so I immediately took it.
Two text messages came in—one from Yuri and one from that CrazyFool. I opened Yuri's message first.
From: Yuri
Message: home already?
I didn't reply. Instead, I opened the next message.
From: GaganBaliw
Message: i miss you
I grimaced at what I read. Here he goes again. I just deleted his message and put my phone back in my bag.
"They're starting."
I looked at Percy when he said that. I scanned the area, but I couldn't see anyone or hear any noise.
"Huh? There's nothi—AAAGGHHH!"
I screamed when a large chunk of rock suddenly crashed onto the car's hood.
"W-where did that come from?!"
"Damn it! My car's scratched!" Percy shouted as he started the engine. He reversed the car, turned in a different direction, then turned the engine off again before stepping out. I did the same and checked the scratch and dent on the hood.
"Don't go far from me!" Percy yelled, making me almost run toward him.
He walked quickly, as if he was looking for something. He positioned himself behind a pile of stacked cars, crouching slightly to peek through. I moved beside him and peeked too.
From our spot, we could clearly see the men fighting. Some were wearing masks, while others were fully covered. But one person caught my attention the most.
Keifer...
He was in the center, talking to someone holding a baseball bat. The bastard had a poker face, while the person in front of him looked furious. I looked around because it seemed like he was the only one I could see.
"Damn it! They're not here!" Percy said in frustration.
It seemed like he was looking for Felix. He was right—Felix wasn't here. Suddenly, Percy stood up and walked off quickly. I followed him.
I feel like a dog! This is so annoying!
I almost had to run because of how fast he was walking. His strides were huge, and it seemed like he was charging straight into a fight.
We stopped when a masked man suddenly collapsed in front of us. Percy quickly pulled me behind him, and we both looked up at the same time. The first person I saw was Ci-N, who continued kicking her opponent.
"Jay?" David called, still holding a man by the neck.
Ci-N turned to us and immediately smiled. She landed a strong kick on her opponent before finally approaching us.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" David asked irritably.
"Are you here to join the fight? Or are you just watching us?" Ci-N asked me enthusiastically.
I just stared at her and David, who still hadn't let go of the man's neck. Was he planning to kill him?
"Where's Felix?!" Percy asked in frustration.
Ci-N and David exchanged glances but said nothing. Ci-N simply raised her hand and pointed in a direction. Percy quickly went that way, and of course, I ran after him.
"That bastard is pissing me off," I heard him mutter.
He sounds just like Kuya Angelo...
I suddenly remembered the words I said to him. I felt like I had hurt him. But could he really blame me? I was exhausted, even though I wasn't even doing anything.
We continued squeezing through the chaotic scene. I spotted Eren and Kit in a corner, beating their opponents with punches and kicks. Not far from them, Mayo and Josh stood over their fallen enemies, looking like they had just finished their fights.
I turned my attention back to Percy and realized he was already far ahead of me. I ran to keep up with him. He kept glancing around.
The next people I saw were Denzel and Drew. Their opponents were already on the ground, and Drew was frisking their pockets.
"They don't even have wallets! Idiots!" Drew shouted in frustration as we passed by.
We then ran into Eman, who had a bleeding eyebrow. He looked surprised to see us but chose to ignore him.
Ahead of us, Calix was dragging an unconscious man. He didn't even notice us and continued with what he was doing.
That's what feels so weird...
I've seen them fight many times. It's normal to me because they're guys. They always do this. It's like it became part of their daily routine before.
But now, the way they fight feels brutal. It's like they have no mercy for their opponents, as if they won't stop until they're covered in blood and suffering.
This is the first time I've seen them like this.
Before, they would stop once their opponent was down, but now, it's like they won't be satisfied unless they're completely destroyed.
I've been nervous since earlier, but now, I'm starting to feel scared.
What I saw next only intensified my fear.
Edrix had chained his opponent to a post and was punching him nonstop. Rory kept smashing a wooden stick onto two men who were already begging for mercy.
Shit... Why?!
Without realizing it, I gripped Percy's arm. He didn't seem to mind and kept looking for Felix.
We stopped when a man suddenly fell from above. I looked up to see where he had come from. On top of the pile of metal and car frames, I saw Blaster.
I tightened my grip on Percy's arm, making him turn to me.
"Are you alright?" he asked.
I swallowed hard before nodding. He clearly didn't believe me.
He held my hand and squeezed it.
"Tell me the truth. Are you feeling something?"
Yes... I'm scared!
It feels like everyone who enters this place turns into a demon.
"I-I just... I need to... use the bathroom." I made an excuse.
Percy grimaced.
I felt like slapping myself for saying that. Damn it! That sounded so gross.
I couldn't tell him the truth because I knew his priority was finding Felix.
Bottom of Form
"Can you stand it? I have a tissue in the car. Maybe in a corner." He said while pointing to a part of the piled up iron.
I took my hands back and gave him a disgusted look. It's okay to suggest it. It's still here and if he forgets, I'm still a woman. I can't just sit anywhere.
"Can you stand it!" I said annoyed and let him walk ahead.
But I immediately turned back to him when I heard a crash. It was like iron falling. I could see the worry on Percy's face.
Shit! I hope not....
We almost ran together and followed the source of that sound. When we reached it, all we found was iron that looked like it had fallen from a high place.
Percy punched the air in annoyance. He still couldn't find Felix. I looked behind us when I heard a familiar voice. The Ulopongs. They seemed to be walking almost one after the other.
"Percy." I called out, pointing in the direction they had gone. We walked one after the other. We also went in the same direction the Gagos had walked.
We stopped when we saw Keifer. He was still in the same place he had been before. This time, the one in front of him was on his knees while holding his right wrist. The other one was obviously hurt.
Without a reaction, the Gagong King twisted the man's hand, causing him to scream loudly.
What the.... I just covered my mouth. Keifer had done that in front of me several times and I still had the same reaction.
I looked at the people lying face down. Unconscious and bloody. I didn't know if they were still alive or what. I'll just think they're alive even though it seems like they're not.
"FVCK!" Keifer shouted loudly so I looked at him. "This is not enough!"
"What 'not enough'? Keifer... We've already brought down half of the Gangs." Felix said while pointing at the fallen ones on the ground.
"...what else is missing?"
"Do you think this will make us strong?! Ha?! Do you think this is enough?!" He replied angrily.
I don't understand what's happening. Please explain, author. The trouble is with the Dimunyung King.
(N/A: he loves you.)
Come on! That's not true anymore. Let's go home! We're fooling around here.
"What are we going to do? Share all the Gang wars with us?" Edrix asked irritably and the King looked at him angrily.
"If that's the only way, then we will." He said firmly.
"You're just making more enemies! Ask Jay-jay's cousin for help. He has more connections." Josh said angrily.
"That's not possible." Yuri said lifelessly while crossing his arms. "...He'll keep Jay-jay away from us if he has to."
"That's great!" Drew shouted. "...so we can make sure she's safe."
Yuri and Keifer looked at him in a bad light. A large part of me was confused and curious about what he said. Safe where? Why do I feel like they're in trouble? I shouldn't be thinking about this anymore. But I can't help it. It's like my brain is itching to find out what's going on.
Get it over with! Hurry up! I shouldn't be interfering. I shouldn't be here anyway. It's Percing's fault. That's what's going through my mind.
"Oh, why do you think that?!" Drew asked angrily. "...you're scared of being separated from Jay-jay, right?!" He asked in amazement. "...do something stupid and now you'll be like that!"
Yuri quickly grabbed his collar. "Shut up, Drew." He said loudly.
Drew glared at him. Even the other Ulopong seemed to be alarmed and tension was rising. Their fists almost flew at each other.
Let's fight!
Ci-N suddenly turned to our side, as did David and Eman.
It was just the three of them at first but the Gago seemed to sense it and turned to us.
Yuri let go of Drew and looked at me sadly. The others were full of surprise while Keifer didn't react in any other way.
"J-jay? W-how long have you been there?" Felix asked as he looked back and forth between us.
I couldn't answer because Percy was in front of me and even though his back was to me, I could feel his anger. It looked like he was about to explode with anger.
Each step we took was slow as we approached them. The only thing missing was the smoke effect and hardcore music. The peg was just an action star.
"Is this what you're worried about?" Percy's voice was calm but there was a hint of emphasis in his
voice.
Felix couldn't answer and chose to look away.
Percy seemed to know that he couldn't get an answer from his brother so he turned to Keifer and Yuri.
"Is this what you taught my brother when I wasn't there?!" He asked angrily.
"...You taught him to join in the killing?!"
Yuri and Keifer looked at each other instead of answering Percy. They both turned their backs and looked like they were going to walk away. What they did was so rude that I couldn't help but speak.
"Don't be rude!"
I shouted at them in annoyance.
Yuri turned to face me after stopping, while Keifer kept his back to us.
That's better... It's better not to face you.
"Jay----."
Percy immediately cut off Yuri's words. "Damn it, Yuri!"
Yuri sighed and bowed briefly. Before he could open his mouth to speak, the King had already preceded him.
"Your brother has his own mind. Teach him, it's up to him whether he comes with us." He said without facing us.
All eyes shifted to him. Even I was looking at him too and for some reason I couldn't understand, I felt something strange.
Am I having a bowel movement?
But no! It was as if someone was looking at me. My gaze automatically turned to the back. I couldn't see anything strange.
I continued to look and turn my body right, right in front of me was a man standing. I backed up a little but stopped. He was wearing a black mask with spikes----like a porcupine pig.
He was hunched over but looked more like a hunchback, his head moving steadily while looking straight at me, causing the spikes to move. Okay... He's creepy. He was holding a knife in his right hand. I swallowed a few times. I tried to step back but I saw that he was going to step forward towards me. I stopped my plan and he did the same.
Mud! If I turned around to call Percy---who was currently fighting----he might suddenly rush at me. My heart was beating fast due to fear and nervousness. But... I couldn't move where I was standing. I couldn't help but tremble. His form was scary. Add to that the fact that I was his target.
I was about to scream loudly but he seemed to see it and got ahead of me. He rushed at me while pointing the knife at my body.
"P-PERCY!" I screamed and closed my eyes.
I waited for the knife to hit my body but I didn't feel anything. I still raised both my arms to try to block it.
I slowly opened my eyes and that's when I saw the reason.
S-it's Keifer.... Again?!
One of his hands was holding the man's right wrist. While the other hand was on his neck. His feet were slightly raised off the ground.
"Who the fvck are you?!" The King angrily asked the man.
I felt someone's arms wrap around me. I looked at him and Percy's worried face appeared before me. I leaned slightly against him because of the softness of my knees.
I looked back at the man. Instead of answering Keifer, he just laughed at him and this one got even more annoyed. His laughter turned into a growl.
The King tightened his grip on him.
"What the hell do you want?!"
"We... Want... Her... Dead." The man said hesitantly and looked at me.
We? Not just one?
"Who?! Who wants her dead?!" The King asked angrily.
Instead of answering, he laughed at us again. What is this? Crazy? That's mud! I really shouldn't have come here.
Keifer looked annoyed with him. He just twisted his wrist and I could hear the crack of his bone. He answered Keifer with a loud scream. But what really scared me was when he said 'we want her dead'.
Who are they? Why do they want me to die?
I sighed deeply. It was as if I knew the answer. I glared at Keifer. He let go of the man and watched him writhe in pain.
"It's your fault!" I shouted at him. "...I'm their target again! Because of you again!"
Now they want me to die!
"Hahahahahaha!"
We both looked at the masked man. He was holding his wrist and laughing like crazy.
"Sato, Jason and Ram." He looked at Keifer, Yuri and me.
Fuck off!
I even accused him, it turned out I was also at fault. But it's still his fault! It's annoying! He's so stupid! Life is not normal anymore and now I'm on the verge of death.
"Who is Sato?!" Keifer asked a little annoyed.
"Keifer." Yuri called him.
He had no emotion as he bowed. We were both wondering at first but when he spoke, everything became clear to me.
"I fought him before." He said. "...and it seemed like he was getting back at me."
Then I did it again... Shutanginamers!
What a mess! This is so messy. Why did I come here?
"Go back..." Keifer said looking at the masked man.
"...go back to Sato, Jason and Ram. Tell them to come back and I'll prepare them."
He was obviously holding back his anger and avoiding hurting the man again.
The masked man slowly stood up and slowly walked away. It took a while before he disappeared from our sight.
"I didn't know this was happening here." Percy said. "...I have no choice."
I looked at him in surprise. He was another one who held back his anger. He looked at Felix who was also surprised. as he says.
"Come with me back to New York."
