✿ CHAPTER 13 ✿
A FEW MOMENT'S AGO
"I feel so embarrassed right now, Ugh" Sofiya glared at me as we arrived at CITY MALL ELEVEN.
"What's there to be embarrassed about?" I rolled my eyes as I tucked my ID card into my Jacket pocket.
"It's just a leather suit and nothing more" My eyes crinkled to the corner as I smiled.
"You usually don't dress this way, what's the occasion?"
"Uhm, no, it's nothing at all. I just felt like dressing this way today," I lied.
People couldn't help but turn their heads when I walked in, I felt so annoyed that I decided to cover up my face with my helmet.
"Wait!, what the hell do you think you're doing?" Sofiya was startled.
"What? isn't this cool?" I smiled behind the helmet.
"Take that off now!"
"No, no way!" I pulled away from her.
"Hey!, I said take that off now!"
"Not if you catch me first" I smirked
"You-" she ran after me.
A few minutes later we both arrived at a clothing store.
"I'm going on a date soon, so I need to get a charming dress" Sofiya giggled and I just rolled my eyes behind the helmet.
"Right, Amelia, I heard you broke up with Caesar. Are the rumors true?" I was stunned.
How did she get to know about this?
"Rumors? And how did you hear about it?"
"So that means it's true. How couldn't you tell me such a trivial matter" she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Come on, it was just a little argument, we're over now"
"Little argument? A little argument that's spreading like wildfire at college?"
"What do you mean at college"
"Stephanie, that bitch, she openly told everyone she slept with your ex-boyfriend!" Stephanie, my former best friend.
"All this happened yesterday right?"
I was silent, I couldn't believe my own best friend could do this to me, and talk less of spreading the news at school.
"Come on girl! Cheer up! You don't need to feel bad about those a**holes. They don't deserve you"
"How do you know I'm sad? I'm putting on a helmet" I said pointing to my head.
Sofiya chuckled
"I can obviously tell from your body language without seeing your facial expression."
Oh right, how could I forget, Sofiya is currently studying psychology. She knows everything about the human body and mind; she can read you like a book.
"Aren't we supposed to look for a lovely dress for you?" I changed the topic.
"Right, come on let's go"
While Sofiya was checking out some dresses in the corner, my eyes fell on a lovely scarf displayed on a mannequin. I loved the scarf, at least it can help me feel warm in this winter season.
Just as I was about to reach the mannequin, I saw a very tall man walking over to that same mannequin. He stared at the scarf like he also liked it.
"Hell no" I quickly made my way to that mannequin, and just as the man was about to reach his hand for the red scarf, I grabbed it immediately.
"Excuse me-" the man paused as he turned his head to look at me.
OH MY GOD!!!
What the hell is this beast doing here, the scarf falling from my hands? I was so shocked to the extent that I fell to the floor and hit my helmet on the hard tiles, luckily my face was covered.
"Ughh, my head" I hissed. My ID fell to the floor.
"Are you okay?" he frowned when he saw me on the floor, he tried helping me up but I rudely pushed his hands away.
I was panting in fear, I couldn't let this man Recognize me, NO, NOT YET AMELIA!
I immediately made a run, Sofiya was coming towards me as I dragged her by the hand out of the clothing store.
"Wait, what's happening? Amelia wait!" I didn't listen to her as I dragged her along with me until we arrived outside the mall, panting.
"What the hell was that back there Amelia!" she was mad.
"I, I'm sorry I just, let's go home now, please" I looked inside the mall, checking if Leonard was coming.
"Amelia, what's wrong? , who are you running from-"
"No time to explain, let's go now"
"But my dress-" I didn't wait for her to finish as I pulled her into the car and drove off immediately.
