Chapter 3
[Ding! Conditions met. Blood Link System has been activated]
He couldn't believe his eyes even for a split second.
'A system?'
He has heard of stories that often involved something called a system whenever a character had been transmitted to another world.
But he'd never actually given himself a chance to familiarise himself with these kind of stories, he was a very plain simple guy... He just loved stories that were easy and simple to read and follow.
He never liked anything that was complex and wide for no atmost reason.
So what was presented to him was something new, something that he didn't even know how the hell was it going to work for him, instead of being amazed and stunned by this; he just laid there and just stared at it.
After everything that had happened in just a single day, he was surely not in the mood for anything more complicated; so he just ignored the system.
As expected as a newly born, he couldn't help but fall asleep and he was taken to his wooden baby cot, and put to sleep.
-------------------------------------------------------------
A few hours passed and it was now nighttime, he woke up because he was feeling a little bit hungry; he scanned across the room and found his mother sleeping peacefully.
He understood why she was so tired after a long day of giving birth to your first child, and your husband labelling him a 'thing' as much as he didn't want to be that obvious and admit it.
Being called a 'thing' was definitely a nice way to put it instead of calling him 'useless' because that's what Drake actually meant.
Yes, he'd already accepted his destined fate, it meant that he was going to be the weakest link of the whole family, if not the entire race as a whole.
Half a vampire he realised, from what he knows from reading different fantasy novels, about vampires and their ranks; every book that he'd come across often displayed half vampires as the weakest of them all. If not called abomination.
He knew how his new family was when it came to bloodline, they held it more accountable than the lives of their own bloodline; once he recalled reading somewhere in a chapter he'd forgotten about.
That there was a vampire race of vampires that weren't born of vampire blood but were turned and when they wanted refuge in the vampire kingdom; they were fully welcomed with both hands.
But as soon after the Valak Clan came to power, those vampires were disposed off and none of the other clans dared to raise their concerns, despite disagreeing with the clan's cruel methods.
Now panicking, not certain about his own fate; if the clan disposed of turned vampires what would it do to him a mere half-blood.
All his worries surfaced, not sure what to do if he was able to walk he was definitely going to run away and escape the clan before they do anything to him; but thanks to his baby legs... They were practically useless like him.
Forgotten all about what had happened earlier before he went to sleep.
[Ding! Conditions met. Blood Link System has been activated]
He looked up, 'oh, I totally forgot about that.'
He looked at this thing that had appeared before him once again, he knew that if this thing was going to keep popping up; every time he ignored it, it was going to be a massive pain in the behind.
Though he was a novelist reader another thing that he was secretly was a gamer, so he had his fair share of computer viruses and how annoying they could get if they weren't attended.
So he was smart enough to apply the same mentality and knowledge to this new system of his.
'okay, system what do you have for me, that would be useful to me?' he couldn't help but ask a curious question.
[The Blood Link System allows the host to link blood with one character's blood, the more stronger the character is the more benefits the host will reap; regarding that character's powers and abilities]
'Say what again?' he couldn't believe what was presented before him, he didn't even consider the possibility of having such an advantage presented to him.
Now it was all over the doubts, the fears, and the non-stop plans he was going to come up with to make sure of his survival of this new cruel world.
He didn't understand any of this, but something unbelievable had just fallen right into his hands; handed to him like a silver platter.
'A blood link system, huh? More like my own personal cheating skill.' he couldn't hide his over excitement.
From that very moment everything had changed, his whole foundation and survival plan had become something of a distant memory. This was something that was definitely going to play at his own advantage.
His plan was for him to work his way through the top by trying to manipulate and getting into people's heads in order for him to have a survival chance.
He was born in the third was even though it still hasn't started and risen to what calamity it was going to bring, he knew that this war wasn't like the first two wars; this one was worse, unimaginable in fact.
Unlike the first wars, this one had introduced all of the super powered magical beings from his own race of vampires to the race of demons, all after one thing to destroy the other race.
The first race introduced the vampires and the demons after the witches were all extinct and vampires wanted the powers possessed by the demos; but the vampires were intelligent and came victorious.
The second war introduced a more and complicated story line, after centuries of vampire ruling; hunters came out and caused a major threat to the vampires, unlike the first war this one lasted for centuries. But after some time of seeing no end, both races took a treaty.
But everyone knew that the treaty wouldn't last that long even after a century has passed and peace was taking place; each race knew that one of the other would get all greety and try to attack.
So for the past century the vampires and hunters were always preparing their new generation to be ready for the war to come; and from the storyline.
There were only two individuals that he had to take under consideration, the protagonist and the antagonist who was actually the youngest son of the second wife.
Klaus Valak.
He was known throughout the whole world feared by all races; he was so cruel and inhuman that he once slaughtered the sixth vampire family clan for something that wasn't such a big deal, anyway.
His personality wasn't just shit, it made the demons look like guardian angels compared to him, maybe it was his upbringing or something close to that.
Out of his siblings and the clan elders, he was believed to be second after his father; all thanks to the second Matriarch-Annabelle, his mother who was just as worse. As they came.
He and the protagonist were destined to clash against one another, for an epic battle that was going to go down in this; if not possible end the entire world.
Because before everything and knowing which races they belonged too, they were best friends; actually scratch that they were brothers.
So that's who he had chosen as his link, he knew it either had to be one of them; he knew very well that the story had many powerful characters and all of them were suitable to be his target.
But he had to keep his eyes on a much bigger price, not to forget the demon princess who was also going to be a major problem for both of them.
All he had to be hopeful for was that none of them were either born yet, as that would cause a major problem for him. So he couldn't be born first; and he clearly didn't want to be the one who turned out to be the oldest.
He never took much thought or even considered the possibility that it might be possible for him to form a blood like with a demon, as their blood is known to be poisonous to vampires.
So he had ruled the princess out, carefully he had concorted another genius plan; from what he could understand from the system he could only link with one person at the time.
All he had to do, was just make sure he found them at their best and strongest; so he could reap the benefits.
Now he only had to decide which one of the two was going to be a great candidate for him, and who was going to be his test dummy.
His plans were perfect, and he was so certain that nothing would even come to hinder his plans; because if so he'd have to take some drastic measures.
One thing he never anticipated, was the possibility that since his birth that maybe everything might change.
