As Vyus got closer to the main rhino gathering by the waterfall, his eyes glowed with bloodlust, as his gaze was locked onto the waterfall.
The pack had no idea that an enormous catastrophe would come.
His inhumane smile was still visible — which daunted not only his inner self, but also the fairiest, and creatures around him.
'Wait...what's happening?' Vyus thought, as his body closed in onto the rhinos.
'I— I'm not controlling this...who's controlling it...?'
But, by the time this new Vyus showed up at the waterfall with the jagged fragment of the tree he had scraped off, it was too late.
Vyus rushed towards the horde and stabbed the first rhino with his unusual predatory focus.
He cut several rhinos in one motion with quick, accurate movements. But a lot of people were running away.
"Where...are you going?!" Vyus yelled out, whilst giving out a creepy smile.
He used his supernatural acceleration to jolt right into a sprinting state, and within mere moments, he had caught up.
Vyus looked directly at the fleeing rhinos, his predatory sight sending shivers down their spines before they could even comprehend what had happened.
"Hello, stupid beasts."
The rhinos tried to run away, but Vyus wouldn't allow it. He leaped over the first rhino's corpse as he cut it off, then sent out a barrage of slashes at the others.
It was like a blood bath — this unusual version of Vyus enjoyed every second of it.
Although he had never been conceited, killing those rhinos gave him a sense of superiority and made him feel like the top predator.
However, Vyus's body froze as he turn his gaze towards the surrounding landscape. His actions horrified the glittering beings of this land.
Vyus's eyes stood there, with no emotions. It was mostly due to the sight that he was seeing, but eventually, he also horrified.
His previous state was now gone — it was simply himself that remained, the normal him. Vyus shuddered at the thought of being the cause of those rhinos' deaths.
'I did this...of course they'd be horrified,' he thought, as his face began to turn pale.
Then, in a sudden moment, a force that had an unimaginable strong weight to it, came crashing down upon him — it was his fatigue.
In addition to being worn out from the fight, he also sustained injuries, that could probably kill any normal human being.
'I...I need to go into that...forest,' Vyus thought, slowly dragging himself towards it.
He continuously grinded his teeth, because he used up all his energy on some weird beasts who weren't this objective.
'I'll...just find some food, then...I'll hunt.'
Meanwhile, at some sort of medical center within the Kingdom of Eutoria, there were many casualties due to the Darkened Crest's recent missions.
"The leader...he keeps on sending us on missions, expecting us to be invincible, or something!" One of the assassins yelled out, to his companion.
"Yeah, dude! We're not some world class assassins," The other assassin replied, in an arrogant demeanour.
As they kept on rambling on about their complaints, a new topic emerged, from a young figure.
"What about that beast from before? When we were evacuating from our mission, the World Hunter, Enzo, was sent to assist us with it."
The other assassin turned to him, their faces hinted with disgust.
"Listen, we don't acknowledge kids with no experience, and no respect for their seniors."
Sors was still confused about their remark; "But, he seemed pretty humble to me."
As they passed by Sors, one of the men said, "You'll get it soon, Sors."
"Don't dig too deep, or I'll kill you," another one of them muttered in Sors's ear as they placed their arm around his neck.
Sors's body shivered fictitiously at these words. He attempted to make eye contact, but, like the air, they were gone before he realised it.
He sighed, as the encounter could've escalated to an unstoppable degree.
As he sat on the bench, Sors reflected, "I used to be feared...but after the loss with Bjornist...everyone began to underestimate me."
He listened to everyone's grunts and groans of agony while he stood motionless like a statue.
'I must get stronger. Individuals such as myself, who transcend their childish mindset, are able to fully display their potential.'
Then, soon after, Sors shut his eyes and made an effort to visualize the movements of Enzo, a World Hunter.
'He exuded an aura of emptiness. What Triune does he possess to be so powerful...?'
As he continued to mentally edit Enzo's accuracy, flow, and everything else, his eyes began to twitch.
'In a matter of seconds, he dispatched that beast. If I just simply look back at what he did, I don't think I can get to that level in the amount of time that I'd want to...'
Then, as Sors opened his eyes, he realized that faint sounds had begun to creep into his thoughts.
'Someone is calling for me...'
He glanced around and met the eyes of Lore, an injured assassin, who had a black beard, long dark hair, and an eyepatch, with reddish brown eyes.
"How have you been?" Lore inquired, as Sors approached him.
"Not too awful. What are you in need of?"
"I don't really need anything, I just wanted to talk to you for a second."
After noticing a bench next to Lore's bed, Sors leaned over to listen to his thoughts.
"I'm going to die. I'm assuming you already know this." Lore said, In a feeble whisper.
"Wait...I didn't know that! How could you say that in such a casual way? " Sors demanded, In a furious and perplexed manner.
"Oh...I'm not sure. I suppose I was ahead of the curve. In any case, I would like to share my gem with you.
As soon as Sors heard these words, his anger completely subsided.
"You mean the one we discovered during our first mission...?"
Recalling their first mission made Lore smile. He reminisced about how much fun he had as a child.
"I recall...our first mission, when you were about nine years old."
With an enthusiastic expression, Sors stated, "even in the early days of child labor, nine was still an illegal age to do tasks that involved assassinations."
Lore smirked, followed by a chuckle. His eyes began to well up with tears, from the thought of this being their last day together.
"Just take the gem...and let me live out my days in peace because I'm sure you don't want to talk to an old guy like me."
When Sors heard these words, his enthusiasm disappeared.
He considered responding to his request with a retaliating demeanor, but ultimately, he altered his decision.
"Goodbye."
