The pirate world has never lacked pirates who are ruthless towards civilians. This is also one of the reasons why Luo Ye was able to impress the three guys—Ace, Sabo, and Luffy. Now, Ace's most frequently spoken words in private are:
"Since this chaotic era was started by that person, it's up to me to end it."
God knows how relieved Garp was when he heard that. Adopting Ace was enough for Garp. If Ace had truly become a pirate, Garp's heart would have only been more painful. Fortunately, all this had changed since Luo Ye came to this world. Ace didn't join the Whitebeard Pirates. Sabo didn't lose his memory and join the Revolutionary Army created by Dragon. Even Luffy, who had dreamed of being the Pirate King, didn't choose the pirate path. All of this makes Luo Ye feel full and gratified.
"Mr. Admiral, the pirate ship up ahead is the Bloody Hand Pirates."
Hearing this, Luo Ye raised his head and glanced. He shook his head slightly.
The less powerful this pirate is, the more he seems to enjoy slaughtering civilians to increase his bounty. Even the New World has quite a few such pirates. But those pirates in the New World would run away whenever they heard Luo Ye's name. However, in East Blue, where the news was cut off, they had never heard of Luo Ye.
…
"Captain! A warship is chasing us!"
In the sea, a medium-sized sailboat was sailing, and a very distinctive pirate flag hung on the flagpole. The flag featured a white skeleton filled with blood red, and the wind whistled as it blew. As long as people on nearby islands saw this flag, they would immediately flee. The Bloody Hand Pirates, who had just massacred an island, were now drinking and celebrating, thinking that their recent deeds would surely increase their bounty. With that, their status in East Blue would rise.
They hadn't expected that Marines would be chasing them. Could it be that these Marines are new? Don't they know that this pirate is a big name with a bounty of 8 million berries?
The Bloody Hand, furious, immediately drew out his saber and roared, "Little ones, turn the bow and sink the Marine warship! This is faster than slaughtering civilians to raise the bounty!"
"Oh!"
"Yes, Captain!"
"Let these Marines know how powerful our Bloody Hand Pirates are!"
Under his orders, the pirate crew quickly turned the ship around and charged toward the warship where Luo Ye stood. Lieutenant Colonel Kertz, on the other hand, almost couldn't help but laugh at their actions. Not only did they have an Admiral on the warship, but even without him, the Marines aboard were elite enough to handle this threat.
A mere pirate crew with a bounty of only 8 million berries wanted to attack a warship? This was nothing short of suicide!
"Sink them."
"Yes!"
The adjutant, who received the order from Luo Ye, moved swiftly to command the artillery. Pirates like these, who only looted civilians on ordinary islands, weren't worth much trouble. They didn't even have enough treasure to compare to a better pirate group!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Bloody Hand Pirates' ship couldn't withstand the power of the Marine warship's cannon fire. Three shots were enough to send it sinking. All the pirates were thrown into the sea, screaming and struggling.
None of them had imagined that they would run into Luo Ye, the new Admiral. Had they known, they would have fled long ago.
Luo Ye, watching the pirates struggling in the water, asked, "Who is the captain?"
There was silence.
Although the pirates didn't know why Luo Ye was asking, they sensed it wouldn't be anything good. Seeing that none of them spoke, Luo Ye shrugged.
"If no one speaks, then I'll kill them all."
Kill them all?!
At hearing these words, the Bloody Hand Pirates were thrown into a panic. Originally, they thought that if they were defeated by Marines, they might just be imprisoned—perhaps giving them a future chance to escape. But the young man in front of them wasn't giving them any hope at all.
Within moments, one of the pirates pointed at another and cried out, "I'll say! I'll say! He's the captain!"
"That's right! It's him! He forced us to do these things. If we didn't, he would have killed us!"
The Bloody Hand Captain stood dumbfounded. He never expected to be betrayed by his own crew, and by every single one of them.
Luo Ye looked at him for a moment before shaking his head slightly.
"A mere 8 million berries. In East Blue, you might be considered a high-bounty pirate."
He paused, then sighed, "Forget it. Talking is better than nothing."
With that thought in mind, Luo Ye ignored the Bloody Hand's pleas for mercy. He grabbed the saber of a nearby Marine and swung it with a single motion. Even other Admirals would have to dodge the slash Luo Ye wielded, so a mere 8-million-berry pirate stood no chance.
The Bloody Hand didn't even get a chance to scream before he was split in half. Blood dyed the sea a deep red.
The rest of the pirates were about to shout in horror, but when they saw the calm, cold eyes of Luo Ye, their voices froze. They realized they were lucky to still be alive.
"Leave the rest to you."
"Yes, sir!" The sailors on the warship responded immediately. They were not surprised by Luo Ye's order. They had long heard of the Admiral's strict treatment of pirates, especially those who slaughtered civilians. They were truly unforgivable.
Luo Ye wasn't interested in the scene unfolding in front of him, however. His gaze turned inward as he focused on the results of killing the Bloody Hand Captain.
"Call up the body properties panel."
As Luo Ye's thought emerged, a panel appeared before his eyes that only he could see:
