Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Rebirth in the Mortal Realm

Scene 1: Awakening in a New World

Darkness. Silence. An eternal void.

Then—a single breath.

Lucien gasps as his eyes snap open, his body convulsing as if breaking free from invisible chains. The sensation of weight returns, the dull ache of a body not his own. The air is warm, filled with scents foreign yet familiar. Gone are the celestial mist and the blood-stained throne room. Instead, he lies beneath a gray sky, heavy with impending rain, surrounded by towering buildings of steel and glass.

His golden eyes flicker with confusion.

Lucien (thinking, disoriented):

"Where… am I?"

He raises his hand. Gone are the celestial scars, the divine ichor that once flowed through his veins. Instead, his skin is smooth—untouched by war. His fingers tremble, unfamiliar yet his own. A strange hum fills the air, mechanical carriages moving along paved streets, their glowing lights reflecting against the wet pavement. People pass him by, dressed in strange fabrics, their gazes indifferent.

A foreign world. A new beginning.

Scene 2: The Forgotten Past

Lucien stumbles to his feet. His balance wavers—his body feels lighter, weaker, as if stripped of his former strength. He catches his reflection in a store window. His long black hair remains, but his once golden eyes now shimmer with an eerie mix of amber and crimson. The royal robes, the broken crown—gone. In their place, simple modern clothes cling to his lean frame.

He clenches his fists.

Lucien (thinking, frustrated):

"Why am I here? Who… am I?"

Memories scatter like ashes in the wind. He knows something is missing—an emptiness that gnaws at his soul. Flashes of betrayal, a dragon's claws, a brother's smile—ephemeral, slipping through his grasp the moment he tries to hold on.

Then—a whisper. A voice that is not his own.

??? (echoing in his mind):

"Rise again, Forsaken Monarch… Your throne awaits."

Lucien freezes. The voice is familiar yet distant, like a god watching from the abyss. His heartbeat quickens. Instinctively, he knows—his past was erased, but his fate still lingers. Something beyond mortal comprehension brought him here. And it is not done with him yet.

Scene 3: The Encounter with Fate

A sudden gust of wind sweeps through the alley. Lucien turns, sensing an unseen presence. A woman stands before him—tall, elegant, draped in a crimson trench coat. Her violet eyes gleam with amusement as she twirls a silver coin between her fingers.

Mysterious Woman (smirking):

"Lost, are we?"

Lucien doesn't answer. His instincts flare—this woman is dangerous. Not in the way a god or demon is, but something more subtle, more human.

She tosses the coin to him. He catches it effortlessly. The metal is cool against his skin, engraved with a sigil he does not recognize.

Mysterious Woman:

"Consider that a welcome gift, stranger. You'll need luck where you're headed."

Lucien (narrowing his eyes):

"Who are you?"

She chuckles, stepping closer. A scent of roses and steel lingers in the air.

Mysterious Woman:

"Let's just say I'm someone who enjoys watching stories unfold. And you, my dear lost soul, are quite the interesting character."

Lucien's grip tightens on the coin. His gut tells him this meeting is not a coincidence.

Lucien:

"What do you know about me?"

She tilts her head, a slow smirk spreading across her lips.

Mysterious Woman:

"Enough to know that your story is far from over. But if you want answers, you'll have to find them yourself."

Thunder rumbles in the distance. The woman turns on her heel, vanishing into the crowd as if she were never there. Lucien stares at the coin in his palm. A new path has opened, a mystery deeper than he anticipated.

The world may have changed.

But fate still has plans for him.

🔥🔥🔥 Who is the mysterious woman? What force brought Lucien back? And will his past return to haunt him?

The forsaken monarch walks among mortals… but for how long?
