Ji-hoon gripped the note. His hand was shaking.
He never left. That 'I'... he's still inside.
"Why now?" Ji-hoon asked the empty room. No. Not empty.
Behind him—a breath. A whisper: 'Because it's time.'
Time for what?
"To find the one who made you forget."
You mean... my father?
'Not the man who raised you. The man who created you.'
Dr. Kang.
Ji-hoon clenched his jaw. "Then I'll go."
The transfer. The research center. The truth.
But as he stepped toward the door— He paused.
"What if I don't come back the same?"
'You won't.'
He didn't say it as a threat. It was a fact.
The cell door opened. Officer. Restraints. Transfer orders in hand.
Korea University Hospital.
Ji-hoon didn't resist. He was done running.
The car ride blurred. Concrete to glass. Hospital gates yawning open.
This place isn't just for treatment. It's a vault.
Inside— White walls. Bright lights. Smiling nurses who never blink.
"Patient Kang Ji-hoon. Room 308."
Ji-hoon was led down a hallway that stretched too long. He passed doors labeled only with numbers.
Who else is in here...?
Room 308. Blank walls. Observation camera blinking red.
Then the door clicked again.
Dr. Kang.
Gray hair. Surgical calm. Eyes like cracked porcelain.
"We finally meet, Ji-hoon."
