She was alive.
Ji-hoon blinked. The visitation room dissolved into silence.
"You're... alive?"
Her smile held grief. And too much truth.
"Then whose body...?"
"My twin sister. Hyun-ju."
Twin. Of course. Two faces. One truth.
"She was helping me with research. Patients like you."
A tablet. Brain scans. Three patients with DID.
Frontal lobe activity. Matching patterns.
"And this is you."
Same scan. Except—
"This area isn't normal. It's beyond DID. It's…"
"It's what?"
"Not possible."
Ji-hoon's throat dried.
"What are you saying?"
"Your 'other you' isn't just a part of your psyche. It might be something more."
More than trauma?
"Consciousness transference," she whispered.
Before he could ask—
The door slammed open.
Detective Park stormed in.
"Meeting's over. She's not cleared."
"I have prosecutor clearance—"
"Revoked."
Su-yeon locked eyes with Ji-hoon. She mouthed something—
But he didn't catch it.
She vanished. Again.
Park sat across from him. Cold. Direct.
"Let's continue from yesterday."
"I remember now," Ji-hoon said. "That night… I killed two people."
"Two?"
"My father. And… the child inside me."
