And here it is, reality as it is. Bruce Wayne was even more impressive in it than he was in the comic book pictures. Yes even the most realistic movies and actors are not able to convey that beating aura of confidence and strength that Bats. If Will didn't know that this gorgeous goody-goody womanizer and wealthy man is the formidable Dark Knight himself, who was pissed off by all the villains, he wouldn't have realized why he was so cool. Maybe he would have thought that this man is cool because he is given to all women or because he can throw money around as he wants and not lose a bit, because he is monstrously smart?

Or was it because Bruce Wayne was handsome and envied by every man in the world? Of course, deep down, Bruce Wayne was a little boy with a great soul wound left by the death of his parents, but it was that wound that made him one of the most powerful heroes in the DC Universe.

«What's wrong with you, Will? - Bruce Wayne continued to smile like a Hollywood star and clapped Will on the shoulder. - Don't be timid. I don't bite.

«Thank you, sir," Will said.

Of course he'd say sir, because Bruce had given him a fucking scholarship and a bunch of perks like a cool house. Whether Willard Light really deserved the dark billionaire's interest or it was Bruce's whim was still a secret, but Will was happy to see his idol live.

«You're leaving already?

Bruce was cool, tactful, polite, his jacket fit perfectly (smoothed), and his black shoes shined as if they had been polished by Apollo himself. Despite his high position, he was here and talking warmly with Will. Just Will. He was honorable. Will thought so, so kind and positive Bruce always came out in public, so behaved in front of women, and so quickly earned the public's trust and affection. It wasn't hard to guess why women jumped into bed with him, mesmerized by his sweet speeches.

«Yeah... I'm a little sick. My head's a little woozy," Willard lied.

«I see. Take care of yourself and don't get sick, I have high hopes for you.

Batman himself had high hopes for him! Ha!

"Wait a second, I need to understand a little bit of what I heard."

Will was proud and. fucked up. He could only fulfill the expectations of the smartest man in front of him in his wet dreams. Or if he had knowledge of Will's past, and he'd forgotten it all.

All he knew, in fact, was how to boil doshirak or skillfully play Dota Two, or how to tell a client on the phone how to set up the Internet. In short, it was a tough case.

«Don't worry, sir, I can handle everything," Willard smiled strainedly.

While they were talking, the front doors to the university swung open and a beautiful young girl with long black hair appeared on the threshold. She was incredibly beautiful and good looking, and wore expensive clothes in black colors, a dress. She gave Willard a glance and, to his great surprise, hugged Bruce Wayne.

«So how long are we gonna be here, Dad?

«Let me introduce you to my daughter Vanessa," Bruce said.

But Vanessa didn't appreciate Will's familiarity and walked past indifferently, exuding a prickly, pressing aura of confidence and arrogance. Like a cold lady.

Vanessa Wayne. In the original story, Bruce Wayne didn't have a daughter. There was only a son, Damien Wayne, which meant Willard fell into a completely different reality where the story differed from the original. How different, it wasn't clear. This led to various thoughts, such as was Vanessa part of the Bet-team and what role did she fulfill in Bruce Wayne's new life?

Judging by the bright expression on Bruce's face, he was happy with his life. And his daughter is clearly Selina Kyle's, so it was a perfectly canonical choice.

«You'll have to forgive her, she's a bit spoiled," he said.

«Come on, it's nothing. You have a very pretty daughter, sir," Willard said.

Bruce grinned and shoved Willard in the shoulder.

«If you want to hit on her, you have to be ready to impress her. You seem like a nice guy to me, but you know..." he scratched his chin in a fake way.

And Willard already knew the answer, "Impress Batman's daughter? You've got to be kidding me, Daddy. After you, she's probably got so many demands that I'd never be able to impress her in my lifetime. Not unless I take down Darkseid in a fist fight, and that's unlikely."

«Come on, sir, I have a girlfriend.

«Oh, right... Clark Kent's cousin? And how are you?

«It's great, actually.

«Hmmm... okay, kid, I gotta go.

Willard was glad to see old Batman so happy and simple. Maybe he and Selina were doing very well and the Bat's heartache was beginning to heal, or maybe it was different and the Dark Knight had another woman in his life. Willard set himself the goal of finding out more about this Batman when he got home, but for now he just decided to go home and seriously think about what he should do with his studies.

"Maybe I should ask Kara to help me with my studies?"

Kara didn't stand out at all in school. She came to planet Earth and almost immediately started working in cafes until she got bored and became a superheroine. Studying there was out of the question. Kara joined the Justice League pretty quickly because she felt it was her duty to fulfill the great purpose of protecting humanity. Yes, Kara's goals could never be called adult, but she was essentially a child, only her body was quite mature.

And that maturity problem was another reason why Willard couldn't see her as his girlfriend normally. He felt like Kara wasn't his type. He liked smart girls, maybe like Vanessa Wayne...? He'd seen her once and that was it, those haughty blue eyes and black curly hair like the darkest night, impossible to forget. Yep, if she was Selina Kyle's (Catwoman) daughter, now it made sense why she was so sexy.

She had her daddy's eyes, blue, though she would have liked Selina's green, catlike eyes for a fuller sexy look. But that was just a matter of taste; Willard was impressed with Vanessa as it was.

"I wish I knew what she liked..."

And then Willard scolded himself for looking at other women when he had Kara. He was lucky Vanessa wasn't the least bit interested in him and probably wouldn't be, because Willard was just a regular guy who wasn't even close to her father Batman.

Perhaps Willard could be as smart as Batman (in the future or in wet dreams), but he would never be able to take on Superman, after all, Bruce was a machine that didn't stop and beat anyone.

Yes, Bruce was tough, but Kirill had never even fought in his previous life. And Willard had disappeared, and now his body was occupied by Kirill Drozdov, so there was no question of genius intelligence.

"And yet she's a beauty," Will thought.

He might have fallen in love with Vanessa at first sight if he hadn't known she would have big demands he couldn't handle.

But with Kara it was simple, yes she was "super", but at heart she was the simplest country girl (somewhat reminiscent of Clark Kent when he lived in Smallville) and she and Willard had a romantic backstory.

***

Speaking of Will and Kara's romantic backstory. The thing is that once Kara saved Willard Light from mortal danger.

Then Will was on an airplane to Gotham City, reading a magazine, sky blue, everything good. And then BAM. The plane is shaking and everyone's panicking. He's going down, he's gonna crash, and there's no woman!

At that moment, Supergirl appeared and picked up the plane, preventing it from crashing. And ironically, it was Will's future girlfriend.

Kara landed the damaged plane on an island in the middle of the ocean. The passengers scrambled to the shore of the island like zombies, and Will wiggled through the frenzied huddle. It seemed to be the end of the line, he was going to fall on the sand, but he saw her, a beauty with a red cape on the background of the measuring sea. And he was stuck, like a fool.

Too bad she flew away before Will could thank her. She didn't even see him. And just like that, the naive dreams of a simple guy were crushed. but no, it's not over.

A lot of time passed since then, and then six months later, Kara and Will met again, only under different circumstances.

Their new meeting took place six months after the airplane crash. It was a dark night, the rain was freezing, and his lungs were shivering from the cold. Will walked down the street and pressed his cold, wet hands to his pockets, dreaming of a warm, warm bath. And while he was dreaming, a splash sounded behind him, and a thieving kid brazenly snatched his briefcase from his hands.

«Where to! Eh!

And here's the funny thing, Will's briefcase was filled with blueprints and nothing else! Of course, Will was amused, but also hurt. Will had to wander the dark streets in vain attempts to find his works - like junk, but without it he could not get into a good university. I had to shiver in the rain and stubbornly search every crevice. He knew he wouldn't find anything, the fool.

But I did, but it's different.

Willard spotted her quite by accident, among the dirty boxes, under the bent iron bars, getting lost among the shadows of Gotham and the dirty, damp sewers. Kara was covered in wounds and breathing heavily. Doomsday had crushed her badly and almost killed her, but she had managed to escape and survive.

Will's heart sank into his heels. And collapsing beside her, he frantically pulled out his phone and dialed the ambulance. But Kara's hand stopped him; she didn't want the attention.

Will covered Kara with a damp cloak and accommodating the heroine's wishes, hailed a cab and brought her to his house. To warmth.

Willard's house was the simplest of homes. An old rented apartment, unremarkable as any other, but it was so cozy that a guest was always welcome. All thanks to the diligent upbringing of single mother Leslie Light, who had made a model man out of her son.

Kara woke up in the dead of night to Will sniffling beside her. Their gazes met almost simultaneously, but Supergirl was quicker. Frightened and mistaking him for her kidnapper, she knocked his vase down with a heavy blow and blew a hole in the wall. When Kara later recalled the incident, she told Will that she almost killed him by throwing his phone (and yes, it was his phone and it shattered). And when Kara calmed down, they started talking quietly that rainy day, snuggled under a blanket.

After hearing Will's explanation, Kara was ashamed of herself and invited Will to dinner a month later to apologize. That was the beginning of their relationship, which gradually grew into love. Willard didn't remember how it really happened, but Kara told it like it was yesterday.

At that time, Will and Kara were not in love yet, or even a hint of it. And yet, caring for Kara, Will began to see her not only as a heroine, but as a poor girl who needed help herself. And what was he compared to her? An ordinary man?

Will was a poor student who rented an apartment on his last dime. When he rescued Kara, he wasn't a Bruce Wayne Scholar yet, and no one recognized his genius, and he was also eating instant noodles and drowning his soul in coffee to work and work and work because he wanted to make his mother happy faster. And all he could offer Kara was modest help and hospitality.

It's a strange thing, Kirill thought, to be loved by someone you don't know at all, and to be someone you weren't. He and Kara seemed to have memories and feelings in common, but he'd forgotten them all. And he was a transplant into someone else's body, and he'd been thought to be that Willard genius, but all his boasted intelligence was gone with the memories of the real Willard.

That's not how this whole thing was supposed to work, because normally, the trapped person got hundreds of plushies and became MarySue, but what did he get? Lost memories and someone else's life?

Kirill suspected that he had missed something, but at that moment he was not meant to understand everything.

Will loved making sushi, a hobby. He especially liked it when he had money, in the mornings and evenings. And the girls liked it, which was convenient enough to show off to Kara.

Now, in New Life, Will had received an immodest scholarship from the Bruce Wayne Foundation. And now he could afford just about anything he wanted.

"Philly...yeah, sushi doesn't come out so well for me. Seems like it's always been like this?"

He was a wok maker. Kara had praised him for his delicious cooking, and he'd gotten her hooked on it on purpose. At least he had something to make Kara happy. And praise from such a pretty girl is like sweet honey. She whispers to him, says thank you, looks at him, is always there to support him. Even when he's cooking. She stands next to him, they chat. Will is happy.

He'd never had anything like this before. Except he was looking at her and wondering where he'd gone wrong for refusing to give it up.

Yeah, Kara's sponges and everything else were good.

Will had been denying Kara sex for three months now, like a tyrant, for God's sake. And it even seemed to him that at some point Kara would rebel and everything, sit on him by force.... It's kind of nice, but it's kind of wrong. It was strange to live with super-women, and strangers, too.

Kara was prone to whimsy, and more than once hinted to Willard for bed. Her patience was wearing thin as they ran out of the food they'd bought for months ahead.

Like now, for example, when they were eating breakfast, and Cara put her hand around his arm in a delicate palm, cast a languid glance from beneath her lashes, the hint was clearer than ever. And oh yes, she was young and charming.

«Should we have rough sex tonight? - she asked softly.

And she resented Will every time he refused to have sex with her. And it was nothing ordinary, just a normal family life full of carnal attraction.

The thing is, the young and energetic girl was impulsive, irascible, and sometimes uncontrollable. And sometimes after hard heroic feats she wanted to be in the tender embrace of her favorite man, maybe she wanted to fuck him hard (but this is already a formality).

Will may have wanted her, but as a man of integrity, he hated the idea of taking a woman whose feelings he didn't share.

And how hot Kara was, Will could only guess helplessly. As noted before, he remembered his past life poorly, but he knew almost nothing about his new life except for rumors and Kara's own stories.

Sometimes Will would get the details of their life together out of Kara so he could pretend to be Willard Light better. The scene would be something like this, him sitting with her in his arms watching TV in the living room, and while Kara was clinging to him, Will would ask how they used to have...well, that.... And she whispered slyly to him: "Why listen when you can try?"

And he's like, "Fuck-ya-ya-ya-ya-ya!!!"

And so Will sat at a pile of notebooks, it was early morning, it was dark, the lamp shone dimly, and he poked a pen tiredly at an empty notebook.

"What if one day some Martian reads my mind and tells Kara the truth? The truth that I don't love her and that's why I haven't fucked her?".

The case is, of course, ridiculous, but not impossible.

It wasn't even about love, it was about being burned.

"How tired I am of steaming. Like there's a grand point to all this!!!".

And so to another of Kara's questions about sex, Will answered "no."

«I'm sorry, honey, I'm not feeling very well today. I must have a cold.

and ... Kara couldn't take it anymore. She burst into flames. Pushed down on the wooden table, and the legs snapped, and the table fell apart, and all the woks went to mush. And he's gonna--

"My babies!"

«What the hell is going on with you lately?! - She shouted, and a moment later she flew out over the balcony, leaving a mess of confusion in her wake.

And there he stood in their cozy kitchen, just him. Watching her silhouette fly away, thinking. Beautiful, enviable. Every guy's dream, and him?

And Will was quiet, slumped over.

"I'm basically powerless. If I could, I'd change everything!" he thought, shoving the surviving forkful of noodles into his mouth.

«It's good, damn it, you ungrateful bitch! Ugh, and I meant well. Yeah, I've had a rough life as a stranger. Now I don't have noodles, and there's no way in hell I'm gonna eat them properly! I have to go to the store again.
