Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Yunwan Disappeared!

On the sixth floor of the Heavy Cloud Pavilion.

Yunwan Yu had changed into different clothes and wore a baseball cap that covered most of her face as she stepped out of the elevator.

Today, she came to the Heavy Cloud Pavilion not only for the welcoming banquet but also because the mysterious big shot who had been buying medicine from her for four years had changed the transaction address to Room 666 in the Heavy Cloud Pavilion.

This medicine was developed by her, the Medical God of the Great Xia Dynasty, specifically for alleviating severe psychological disorders.

The fact that this person had been purchasing her medicine for four years clearly indicated that their condition was serious.

However, their previous transaction locations coincidentally happened to be in the small county where she lived in seclusion.

But this time, it seemed as if they knew her whereabouts, changing the location to the Heavy Cloud Pavilion.

A glint of interest flashed in Yunwan's eyes; she began to wonder just who this mysterious buyer could be.

She opened the bottom drawer, took out two white medicine bottles from her coat, and placed them inside. Just as she was about to close the drawer and leave, she suddenly heard footsteps echoing down the corridor.

A cold light flickered in her eyes. Yunwan swiftly grabbed the medicine bottle, turned off the lights, and hid herself in the adjacent wardrobe, leaving only a small gap through which she watched the situation outside with bated breath.

The door was soon opened again.

With a "click," the lights turned on.

Yunwan clearly saw a man heading straight towards the bedside table, opening the bottom drawer.

"Why is there nothing here? Wasn't it said that someone would deliver the Medical God's medicine tonight at nine o'clock? Why isn't it here!"

"Or have they already completed the transaction?"

The man's furious roar echoed through the room.

Through the gap, Yunwan saw the face of a middle-aged man.

His expression was twisted, his breathing rapid, clearly agitated: "After so much effort to intercept their transaction time and place, if the medicine falls into that madman's hands, won't we have to continue bowing to him?"

Yunwan lowered her gaze slightly, the coldness in her eyes intensifying.

She had never seen this middle-aged man before and had no idea who he was, but from his words alone, she could tell he wasn't a good person.

"Sir, perhaps the person sent by the Medical God hasn't arrived yet. Shall we wait a bit longer? The Medical God is always very cautious in transactions. To this day, no one knows whether the Medical God is male or female, tall or short, fat or thin."

The middle-aged man's expression softened slightly, but he quickly gritted his teeth: "I still don't understand how that madman managed to connect with the Medical God! If it weren't for..."

He didn't finish his sentence, suddenly pausing.

Yunwan noticed his gaze shift towards the wardrobe. Through the darkness, their eyes met.

His eyes were filled with suspicion and coldness, fixating on the small gap in the wardrobe. He discreetly signaled to the person beside him.

Another figure silently moved to the side of the wardrobe.

In the next moment, the wardrobe door was yanked open violently!

Yunwan sprang out like a swift leopard, swiftly pinning the middle-aged man to the bed and delivering a powerful chop to his neck, rendering him unconscious.

The other man's face was filled with shock. Before he could even call for help, Yunwan had already pounced on him, delivering a clean chop that knocked him out as well.

"translation": "Adjusting the creases on his suit, Yu Tingwan coldly pulled out his phone and typed a few words: Transaction canceled.

He adjusted his baseball cap before finally opening the door.

But as soon as the door opened, the bodyguard outside turned sharply, recognizing him as a stranger and lunged towards Yu Tingwan: "Catch him!"

Yu Tingwan cursed under his breath, swiftly taking down two bodyguards before turning and running.

The bodyguards pursued relentlessly, even pressing an alarm button to alert everyone inside that an intruder had breached the premises!

The entire Zhongyun Pavilion went on high alert.

Even the first-floor banquet hall felt the tension.

Pavilion security quickly converged towards the elevators, and the announcement blared: "Unauthorized individuals have infiltrated Zhongyun Pavilion. Kindly refrain from moving around; otherwise, consequences will be at your own risk!"

The sudden announcement changed everyone's expressions.

Especially for Yu Tingyan and his group.

Instantly, their hearts tightened with anxiety and confusion.

Song Yun quickly glanced around, only to find that Yu Tingwan's spot was already empty.

Panicking, Song Yun grabbed Yu Tingyan's arm: "Husband, Wanyan is missing!"

Yu Tingyan's face darkened, gritting his teeth: "Where could she possibly go now? The Pavilion is full of important figures. If she offends them, she won't even know how she lost her life!"

Meanwhile, Yu Tingwan was sprinting upstairs.

The ground floor would surely be swarmed with more bodyguards.

Fortunately, she had scouted a retreat route before arriving at Zhongyun Pavilion.

That was to jump from the balcony of room 999 in the Pavilion's restaurant into a neighboring room, change her appearance, and leave openly.

Room 999 in Zhongyun Pavilion was always vacant, with neither the door nor the balcony door locked, making it the perfect escape route.

Yu Tingwan quickly shook off the pursuing bodyguards and dashed into room 999.

There were no surveillance cameras on this floor.

So Yu Tingwan didn't hesitate, directly pushing open the door and quietly closing it behind her.

Leaning against the door, she took a deep breath.

But soon, Yu Tingwan's nerves shot up again.

For a sound of running water came from the bathroom within room 999?!

Yu Tingwan's face turned green.

How could there be anyone in a room that was always unused?

Seizing the moment while the water still ran, Yu Tingwan hurried towards the balcony.

But when she tried the door, she found it locked.

Furious, she cursed inwardly.

Had she forgotten to check the almanac today? Why was she so unlucky?

And just when misfortune seemed never-ending, the sound of water stopped.

Yu Tingwan quickly hid behind the curtains.

Her breathing became much lighter, afraid of being discovered.

Peeking through the curtain's gap, she looked toward the bathroom.

The bathroom door opened swiftly.

"translation": "A man, wrapped only in a bath towel, emerged from the bathroom, drying his wet hair.

He had an exceptionally good build, and...

He seemed vaguely familiar.

Yu Tingwan squinted slightly.

Before he could clearly see the man's face, the man turned away, answering a call.

"The deal was intercepted?"

"Hmph, still as clueless as ever. Making such a big fuss chasing someone, do you fear they might escape?"

A clear voice rang out, laced with heavy coldness.

Yu Tingwan looked up in surprise, staring at the man's back, a flicker of contemplation swiftly passing through his eyes.

The man, after a brief pause, spoke icily, "Stop them. Anyone who dares to interfere... tear them apart and feed them to the dogs."
