He waited until they all alighted from the vehicle and then drove off, almost knocking down the automated gate at the speed he took off with. The heavy rain has subsided to nothing more than faint drizzles on their already messy hair and clothes. Haley stood on the driveway for almost an hour still reeling in shock and waiting for him to drive back to her, hold her close and apologize with a million kisses that he was sorry for being unnecessarily mean to her.
Wish stared at her poor friend through one of the many transparent walls of their mini-million dollar home in guilt. She was dried and has freshened up from all that rain and gotten Ruffus clean, dry and comfortable as well.
It was going to haunt her the most for the rest of her life if she didn't speak up about this. Who knows, Ash might try something worse again and it might be too late to explain herself. What's the probability he isn't receiving love anywhere else apart from her dear friend. It was best, as a good friend and with all this girl has done for her when she wasn't obliged to do so to let her know the type of person she is dangerously trusting her future and all to.
Haley looked up to see a black umbrella over her head and her dear friend standing close beside her with it. Her tear-ridden face gazing at Wish in deep hurt that Ash even had to behave like this infront of her friend.
''We spent close to an hour cuddling and making love this morning.''
Wish stared down at her feet, gulped and nodded that the walls in this house were very thin. One of the reasons she wakes up so early ever since she stepped foot into this house. Those early morning jogs were just excuses to save herself from the really intense sounds those two make when they are on top of each other. It made her curious at times to know what really goes on in that room and if Haley truly liked how aggressive Ash was always to her during their most intimate moments. Sometimes she cried, most times she begged and the lesser times she moaned with pleasure. It was really crazy and traumatizing to have to endure each day.
It's the worst days of her life if it continues for the rest of the day and all throughout the night keeping her wide awake and frustrated with everything.
''Anytime he says he loves me…It's like I lose a few screws in my head and when he ask for it…I just want to give myself completely to him.''
Wish had no idea what to say about this new piece of their relationship. It was really weird as well as creepy when she said that. Like she doesn't have a mind of her own or he forces her to submit to him with that simple misleading sentence of love.
''He is my everything,'' she sobbed out and it deeply felt like a cry out for help. ''And I am basically no one without him.''
Wish felt a bit conflicted and genuinely concerned for her friend. Though she has never been in a relationship before and she felt like she was the least person to open her mouth and try to offer any words of advice to her friend. She wondered if now was the perfect time to break it to her why her everything was behaving like he wanted to set fire to the world and watch it burn.
''Well…I…have something to say…''
''I know you will have something to say but since you are the only one here with me now…I might just break it up to you first.''
Wish kept her mouth shut as she wondered what incoming surprise was this.
''I am two weeks pregnant, Wish.''
It was as if every other thing around them stilled in response because a pin would drop at the gate and she would be able to hear it.
''I went to another hospital after I dropped you at yours to confirm it. I lied about Rufus having a vet's appointment in hopes of returning to surprise him with the good news.''
Woah.
Wish bit down hard on her lips and wondered how close she was in ruining it all to an unrecoverable length by speaking up about Ash acts to her.
He was soon going to be a father.
And her best friend will be a mother.
That's a clear sign from the universe that she has nine months left to find her feet in this world and start fending for herself. They were soon going to make a home for themselves in this place and she would be nothing but an hindrance or a burden if she remained stuck on them like a parasite.
They have tried their best for her and she was the most grateful to her best friend. But it is time to resume her job hunting, secure one and move out as fast as she could. She managed a smile that didn't really seem sincere or fake but in-between.
''I am so happy for you, Haley.''
Haley managed a smile of her own, sighed deeply and wiped the tears from her face as an interesting idea dawned on her.
''Maybe if I tell him the good news he would come back home and everything would be alright, right?''
Wish wasn't really sure about that being the case but it was worth a try.
