Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: The Mystery of His Origins

"Did Master tell you all this?"

Gu Han asked. Although Bibi Dong held the title of Holy Maiden, matters concerning the Worshipers still seemed a bit distant for her. The only possibility was that Qian Xunji had casually mentioned it to her in his free time.

"Yeah! Master also told me that the Angel lineage possesses a set of divine spirit bones with a 99,999-year history. But due to his limited talent, he only inherited the left and right arm bones."

"Uh… Senior Sister, do you realize that's top-secret information?"

A few beads of cold sweat formed on Gu Han's forehead. He was beginning to realize just how freely Bibi Dong shared things.

No wonder Yu Xiaogang in the original story somehow knew all about the Angel Clan's deepest secrets.

"Of course I know. But you're my Junior Brother—you're bound to learn these things eventually, right? It's fine."

"Er… okay, but still, Senior Sister, don't mention this kind of stuff to anyone else. No matter how close you are to someone, keep it to yourself. Got it?"

Gu Han hesitated, then felt it was necessary to remind her to be more cautious. Some things just shouldn't be said so freely, no matter the relationship.

"Don't worry, I know how to keep a secret. Besides you, I've never told anyone else," Bibi Dong replied with a cheerful smile.

"That's good, then…"

Gu Han gave an awkward chuckle and decided not to press the topic further. This sort of habit had to be corrected gradually. For now, he brought up something far more important.

"Senior Sister, do you know where the Spirit Hall's archive is?"

One of the reasons Gu Han had come to Spirit City was to uncover the mystery of his own origins.

He had been reborn into this world before birth, and he had always wondered what had happened to his biological parents in this life.

All soul masters on the continent—even those from the Three Great Sects—had their records registered with Spirit Hall.

Those records were stored in the Hall's archive. His birth parents would likely be recorded there as well.

If he could find others who possessed the same FrostBlade Sword martial soul, he might finally discover who his parents were.

"Of course I know. It's right next to the Spirit Hall Library. But why are you asking?"

Bibi Dong looked puzzled. The archive wasn't a restricted area—anyone with status within Spirit Hall could enter, and even outsiders could access it with the proper clearance.

After all, it only contained records on soul masters—nothing that needed hiding.

"It's nothing. I was adopted and raised by Grandpa Gu, and ever since I was little, I've always been curious about who my parents were. Why did they abandon me in Qinghe Village? Were they forced to?"

Gu Han didn't hide anything and explained his purpose honestly.

"I'm sorry, Junior Brother..."

Bibi Dong lowered her head like a guilty kitten.

"It's fine, Senior Sister. You didn't know, there's no need to apologize."

Gu Han instinctively raised a hand to pat her head but paused at the last moment and instead gently patted her shoulder.

"In that case, follow me. I'll take you there."

Bibi Dong raised her head, motioned for him to follow, and led the way.

"Alright."

The Spirit Hall's archive was located to the left of the Pope's Palace. Though the palaces here weren't as grand as the Pope's, they were still magnificently built.

The archive itself was housed in a smaller hall beside the library.

"Stop!"

Two golden-armored guards at the entrance immediately blocked their path.

"I'm the Holy Maiden of Spirit Hall. Let us through."

Bibi Dong presented her Holy Maiden Token, and the two guards immediately dropped to one knee.

"Your Highness."

"Rise."

Bibi Dong clasped her hands behind her back and nodded with practiced authority.
