Setting aside his lingering doubts, Luoshu pressed on toward the next unit.
Before encountering the Fortune-Granting Cat, he hadn't held high hopes for Site-CN-06's Safe-class anomalies. But now, things were different—at least two of the remaining seven anomalies had caught his attention.
Most likely, both possessed reality-warping abilities!
Still, Luoshu didn't disrupt his rhythm. He stuck to his pre-planned route.
The fourth anomaly he recorded tonight was Anomalous Item-CN-1065—"Death Before Dying."
This was a collective designation for a series of anomalous events, but Site-CN-06 only contained Anomalous Item-CN-1065-1—a wooden box.
If blood, hair, nails, or any other DNA-containing sample from a person was placed inside, the box would spit out a slip of paper—designated Anomalous Item-CN-1065-a—detailing that person's death record (Anomalous Item-CN-1065-2).
No matter what measures the Foundation took to prevent it, the described death would inevitably occur.
After death, the corpse would appear in a villa in Jinmen City, designated Anomalous Item-CN-1065-3.

Reading the description, Luoshu's heart pounded.
Site-CN-06 was full of broken anomalies. Two Safe-class items had turned out to be "divine artifacts."
If he could get a DNA sample from a "god," could he kill them outright?
Worth a try!
Luoshu first checked his neck and fingernails for traces of Abel's DNA.
They'd grappled earlier that night—there had to be residual tissue.
Unfortunately, he'd showered after returning home, washing away most traces. His fingernails might still hold something, but...
He didn't dare test it.
What if the scrapings were his own DNA?
If he accidentally cursed himself, this story would end right here.
Besides, this was Abel.
Hadn't Abel died enough times already?
He'd just come back. No big deal.
This ability was better saved for a "god."
After some thought, Luoshu opened a photo portal to retrieve Anomalous Item-105-B—a stack of photos stored inside Anomalous Item-055's unit for easy reactivation of abilities.
But when he reached in, the photos were gone.
Not just the photos—
The Rainbow Lollipop, the W-Class Mnemonic Enhancer, the A-Class Amnestics spray, the phone for contacting Waiter, and the throat mic for IR1901—all missing!
Since Luoshu moved frequently, he'd stored these valuable items inside Anomalous Item-055.
Now, they'd vanished.
The only things still on him were Anomalous Item-005 (Skeleton Key) and the photo of Anomalous Item-055's unit.
Peering into the unit through the photo, Luoshu confirmed—everything was gone.
This was bad.
Without those photos and anomalous items, his combat effectiveness was halved.
He had to return to the New World immediately.
The only question was—go now, or finish sweeping Site-CN-06 first?
Leaving now meant the Containment Specialist milestone would stay stuck at Tier 1.
But delaying risked losing the stolen items permanently.
They'd still been there yesterday—the theft had to have happened within the last 24 hours.
Had Anomalous Item-055 betrayed him?
No.
The Compendium's "Anomalous Allies" list still showed 055 as a friend.
Something else was going on.
This couldn't wait.
He had to recover those items.
With a sigh, Luoshu accepted that his plan to boost the Containment Specialist milestone to Tier 2 tonight was ruined.
Pulling out his phone, he booked a flight to the New World for tomorrow.
At least Chaos Insurgency had done their job well—his current identity (middle-aged NEET) had a valid passport and visa.
With the ticket secured, some of his unease faded.
Glancing at the time—just past midnight—he decided to finish tonight's sweep.
Even if he had to leave China by dawn, he wouldn't quit halfway.
Pushing forward, the Compendium kept growing—

So close to 100...
Only three Safe-class anomalies remained in Site-CN-06.
The next one was the reality-warping item he'd been anticipating—a dried, specially processed human tongue.
Disgusted, Luoshu tossed it back into its containment box and checked the Compendium.

According to Foundation documents, the ability wasn't weak—but the cost (mental corruption) didn't align with Luoshu's principles.
Dismissing it, he moved to the last two targets.
The 84th page was unremarkable.
But the final Safe-class item—another reality-warping anomaly—was worth it:
A black T-shirt printed with a koi fish, ridiculously named "Wear This for Yang Chaoyue" (a reference to a luck-bringing celebrity).
As the name suggested, it granted good fortune.
After securing it, Luoshu would bid Site-CN-06 farewell—for now.
Placing the shirt back in its containment, he flipped open the Compendium one last time.
