After recording the two anomalies, Luoshu was on his way to the third unit when suddenly, out of nowhere, a cat jumped into his path.
What was even stranger was that Unobservable seemed to have no effect on it—the cat's yellow-green eyes locked directly onto Luoshu.
They say cats are spiritual creatures, and this one was no exception. It could actually sense Luoshu's presence.
Having visited at least six Foundation sites, this was the first time Luoshu had seen a feline roaming so brazenly in a containment zone.
Had Foundation security really gotten this lax?
Of course not.
Considering this was Site-CN-06, the cat's identity was obvious.
Still, Luoshu double-checked with the supercomputer "White Blood Cell"—"A cat just appeared in front of me. Is this Anomalous Item-CN-351?"
"Yes, my lord. According to its collar's tracking signal, that is indeed it!"
So, this feline was none other than the Fortune-Granting Cat from the Adytum Initiative.
It possessed reality-warping abilities, capable of temporarily stealing a person's personal Hume level by biting them.
When its Hume level was high enough, it could phase through walls.
Much like the Eye Pods in Site-19, this cat loved wandering around.
But unlike the Eye Pods—beloved mascots of Site-19—this one was more of a nuisance.
Mainly because it loved biting people.
In Luoshu's original plan, Anomalous Item-CN-351 was a "if I happen to run into it" kind of target.
After all, his time was limited—he couldn't afford to chase a cat around the entire site.
But now, the little troublemaker had come to him.
No way he was letting this opportunity slip.
Just as Luoshu was considering how to acquire its abilities, the Fortune-Granting Cat spoke.
Well, not exactly spoke—it communicated telepathically:
"Let me bite you!"
Luoshu was speechless.
I'm the one here to record you in the Compendium, and now you're asking to bite me?
Before he could respond, the cat added:
"Let me bite you, and in exchange, I'll grant you one request."
Luoshu thought about it. This was indeed the most efficient method.
If he wanted to secure all 10 Safe-class anomalies tonight, he couldn't afford to waste time chasing a cat.
A single bite? At worst, he'd need a rabies shot afterward.
"Fine, but make it quick. My request is simple—I want you to become my friend."
"Deal!"
Without hesitation, the cat darted forward and bit Luoshu's leg.
Instantly, Luoshu felt a strange dizziness, as if reality itself had thinned around him.
This was the normal effect of a sudden drop in personal Hume levels.
An ordinary person would've been disoriented for a while, but Luoshu had grown accustomed to low Hume levels from frequent use of Reverse Distortion.
What he cared about more was what ability the cat had given him.
Phasing through walls?

[Item Number: Anomalous Item-CN-351]
[Item Name: Fortune-Granting Cat]
[Object Class: Safe]
[Abilities: Reality Theft. This entity can temporarily steal a target's personal Hume levels to augment itself. If you steal from a Tier-5 reality bender, you become a god! Surprised? Such an overpowered ability on a Safe-class item? Yeah, me too. The Foundation's classification system is… questionable.]

[O]
The cat's ability was an unexpected boon for Luoshu.
In a one-on-one fight against a reality bender, this was game-breaking.
With this, Barbie wouldn't stand a chance.
Pleased, Luoshu closed the Compendium—only to realize the cat was gone.
Even worse, the tracking collar it always wore was now lying on the floor.
Frowning, Luoshu immediately contacted White Blood Cell.
"What just happened? Where did it go?"
"My lord, surveillance shows it opened a spatial rift and vanished."
"A spatial rift? Has it ever done that before?"
From what Luoshu knew, the Fortune-Granting Cat's usual abilities were limited to phasing through walls—there were no records of it creating portals.
While both abilities involved spatial manipulation, tearing open a dimensional rift was on a whole other level.
"Correct, my lord. It has never exhibited this ability before."
Luoshu pondered for a moment before issuing a new order.
"Scan all surveillance in the site. Find out where it went."
Site-CN-06 had hundreds, if not thousands, of cameras, but for a supercomputer, reviewing them all took mere seconds.
"It's gone! The cat is no longer in the site! Based on Adytum Initiative records, it appears to have opened an interdimensional portal."
"You're saying it's not even in this world anymore?"
Alarmed, Luoshu activated Thousand-Mile Tracking—but he couldn't sense the cat at all.
It had truly left this reality.
Luoshu wasn't too bothered by its escape—as long as its ability could still be activated through the Compendium, it didn't matter where it went.
Site-CN-06, however, now had a containment breach to deal with.
But one question gnawed at him:
Why did the cat leave only after biting him?
Was Luoshu's flesh so irresistible that the cat couldn't leave without a taste?
Or was it like Tang Sanzang's flesh—a single bite granting immortality and transcendence?
…Okay, the second theory was more plausible.
Luoshu wasn't being narcissistic. The cat had actively sought him out, begged to bite him, and then vanished from this world.
To think its disappearance had nothing to do with that bite would be an insult to his 140 IQ.
The "Tang Sanzang" comparison was a joke, of course. What the cat really wanted was likely Luoshu's personal Hume levels.
Meaning—after stealing Luoshu's Hume energy, the cat gained the power to open an interdimensional rift.
Combined with Chaos Insurgency's interest and the so-called "gods'" attention, Luoshu's identity as the "Revealer of Truth" was becoming increasingly mysterious.
His very existence was a secret.
And now, that secret had grown even more enigmatic.
