Electricity bursts out of Blaze's hand. His bones shine a blue color, visible through his skin.
The blood veins on his hands radiate a white light. Each blood cell infuses itself with the power of electricity.
Shrieking electricity noise fills the room. It sounds exactly like a taser.
Both of Blaze's arms are numb to the bone. He can only feel the shocking sensation of the current.
Veins are the wires. Bones are the capacitors. And his flesh acts like a circuit.
Blaze opens his palm, electricity dancing on it aggressively.
He aims his palm downward, a spherical wave spreads from his hand in every direction. It goes past Blaze but does not affect him one bit.
Blaze then aims his hand forward. A cone-like wave shoots forward, almost covering ninety degrees of space in front of him.
The range of this attack is much farther than the sphere one and almost reaches ten meters.
One has more spread while the other has more range.
Blaze can increase the range even further if he shoots it like before, without spreading it to a cone shape. However, he cannot make it smaller.
This might be the limitation of this evolution of Force Blast.
In contrast, Force Piercer must be easy to concentrate but impossible to spread.
This time, the evolution is much more manageable than the last one. Apart from a little bit of discomfort and numbness, it is actually not bad at all.
However, Blaze's attributes also have no increases.
[Force Shocker]
- Special Evolution Line: Thunder Force (A-rank)
- Unlock requirement:
1. You are struck by Lightning Strike produced by Destruction Wand seven times.
2. 2500 EXP
[Destruction Wand]
- Hidden Power: Arcane Conduit
- Arcane Conduit: By pouring the power of your Force Shocker into the wand, Lightning Strike will turn into Thunderbolt.
- Thunderbolt (amplified from Lightning Strike): Your wand shoots out blue lightning instead of yellow lightning. The speed, temperature, and pure destruction of the lightning bolt are now several times higher than the original.
The Destruction Wand appears in Blaze's hand.
The blue energy of Force Shocker flows out from his skin and enters the tree bark at the end of the wand.
Blaze flicks the wand. A thunderous, deafening blue lightning bolt shoots out and completely decimates the opposite wall.
The sound and shockwave it created were so strong, they even dazed Blaze. His ears are ringing, and his vision blurs due to the shock.
He has not gone far from the school. The others must have heard this extremely loud thunder.
Blaze equips the Tattered Cloak and quickly retreats from the scene.
Force Shocker + Lighting Strike = Thunderbolt
It is also equivalent to… do NOT use it in-house.
Blaze tells himself, he thought he was going deaf for a few seconds there.
Better use it only outside. I also should find ear protection for this thing.
After Blaze has gone for a while. The Pale Harpy and Preston show up at the room.
They're both looking at the destructive wall.
"What did it kill this time?" The heroine says.
Preston squats down near the wall and carefully examines it.
"No… Not killing. The destructive power of its lightning has increased. Increased by a great amount.
It is becoming stronger."
"No way! How can something become so strong so fast?!"
The Harpy's voice is concerned and shaking a bit.
She and Preston look at each other's eyes and find their answer.
The creature took its victims' souls. It must do it for a reason.
And that reason must be power. The Pale Harpy and Preston come to the same conclusion.
Using the Grappling Hook, Blaze traverses through the roofs of buildings in the city.
He has found the position of three Crises.
The first one is inside the school stadium.
A large, muscular humanoid monster with arms almost twice as big as its chest.
The second one is on top of the radio tower.
A weird bird-like creature with blue feathers on its body. It looks very similar to a pterodactyl, the flying dinosaur. However, its beak is made of solid steel and shaped like a blade.
The third one is at the City Theater.
A giant green snake with red eyes. Its head is almost as big as the theater's door. Its entire body is inside the theater, sliding in every hallway, showing up in the side windows.
The first one, Blaze called it the Quarterback, is inside the school area. If he fights it, the other students definitely will hear the noises.
There are a lot of powerful beings inside the school. Henry includes. Blaze cannot guarantee if they will disrupt him or not.
The second one, Flying Saurus, is actually in the middle of nowhere, and Blaze won't need to worry about someone disturbing him.
However, the fight may prove challenging as it can fly and Blaze cannot.
The third one, Jade Snake, hides inside walls of concrete and has the biggest size of all.
The bigger they are, the easier it is to hit them.
Blaze thinks and considers carefully. No matter how you see it, the Jade Snake should be the easiest target.
He has decided to kill it first.
Blaze equips the Tattered Cloak and disappears into darkness. The entire city is covered in shadow, not even a single electric light is illuminating.
A perfect playground for the Tattered Cloak.
Blaze wonders if the Void has daytime. Because if it does, there should be a few more hours left until sunrise, then the Tattered Cloak will become useless.
If it comes to that, maybe he can try to use the new weapon, the Sun Bird.
It takes Blaze a few minutes to reach the City Theater.
When he comes near it, the ground shakes a bit from time to time, a sign of the giant body of the Jade Snake moving.
From the opposite rooftop, Blaze can see its giant body and green scales moving in one of the windows. Its head is nowhere to be seen. Probably somewhere inside the building.
Blaze takes a deep breath, getting ready to fight the first Crisis of his life.
Just yesterday, he was still a trashy.
Only a few hours passed, and now he's an Awakened with B-rank Power. He also killed seven people and trapped their sword inside the Lantern.
Everything changes so fast. Too fast for him to comprehend.
But he has no time to contemplate now. Alyson is still waiting for him.
"Those damn criminals! I will kill them all!
I will kill every single one of them if I need to!"
Blaze finds his purpose and then calms his nerves. Not to let his emotions interfere with his judgment.
Leaving the Void and going to rescue Alyson now is suicide. Those 'superheroes' won't even save her if I beg them. They are all the same.
I can only trust myself and my power.
And to gain more power, he must gain more reward from the System.
The Destruction Wand materializes in his hand.
Blaze pushes all the energy of Force Shocker inside it. He is using the Lightning Strike hidden power, but he charges it the same way as the Destruction Beam.
Since the Wand can already absorb his power to amplify Lightning Strike to Thunderbolt. What will happen if it absorbs a lot more?
That is the question Blaze has been pondering. And now he's here to find out.
The Destruction Wand fires.
