"General Melissa, this time you came to me in the middle of the night, there must be something important" said Samuel Reed.
"As long as I can be of help, General Melissa can just tell me" Mr Reed continued.
The Reed's family's study was brightly lit.
Melissa Quinton sat there, while Samuel Reed personally poured tea for her. This level of respect surprised Charles Wellington who was sitting beside them.
An old man in his seventies personally serving tea to a junior.
Charles Wellington guessed that, besides Melissa's general status, it was more because of her family background.
It seemed that his elder brother's fiancée was not simple.
As Charles was thinking, he took a sip of his tea.
"I don't have any business to discuss, but my boyfriend wants to see you" Melissa Quinton said as she pointed at Charles Wellington.
Charles almost spurted out the tea he was drinking.
He never expected Melissa to be so bold.
She directly announced to the world that he was her boyfriend?
Wasn't she afraid of being publicly denied and losing face?
Samuel Reed was also surprised.
"Boyfriend?"
"Could it be that he is the one who is engaged to General Quinton, Maxwell Wellington, the prince of the Wellington family?" Samuel Reed panicked and got up to pay his respects to Charles Wellington.
Mr Reed had worked under the Quinton family before, so he naturally knew about the marriage alliance between the Quinton and Wellington families.
"He's not Maxwell Wellington. He's my new boyfriend" Melissa Quinton said coldly.
"This..this....this....." Samuel Reed was even more surprised, his face changing.
"General Quinton, does Mr Maxwell Wellington know about this?"
"What? Do I need to seek permission from Maxwell Wellington for whom I associate with or whom I like? I haven't even married him yet!" Melissa's anger surged at the mention of Maxwell Wellington.
Samuel Reed immediately shut his mouth, knowing he couldn't afford to offend either of them. He decided it was best to pretend he didn't know anything about it.
"What brings you here, young man?" Samuel Reed asked Charles Wellington. He wasn't do it because he had a respect for Charles, but because he was still trying to flatter Melissa Quinton, so as not to anger her even more.
"It's nothing major. I just wanted to ask if Mr Reed has any grudges against the Logan Group. Otherwise, why would you bully them?" Charles got straight to the point.
"Logan Group?" Samuel Reed was puzzled, clearly having never heard of the company.
He immediately had his butler check and found out that Logan Group was just a small pharmaceutical company in Orange county city.
"I don't know anything about this. I'll investigate tonight and give you an update tomorrow." Mr Reed said.
"Okay." Chu Lin nodded, then turned to Melissa Quinton and said.
"It's all done. I'm leaving."
Melissa nodded and left with Charles Wellington, leaving Samuel Reed with no chance to invite her to dinner.
This inseparable appearance undoubtedly made Samuel Reed secretly worried.
"It seems that General Quinton is very concerned about this person. I wonder what would happen to this young man if the Wellington's young master finds out about it?"
Mr Reed shook his head with a bitter smile. Then he immediately began to investigate the affairs of the Logan Group.
As for Charles Wellington and the others, they were stopped by two people when they reached the entrance of the estate.
"General Melissa, I am Kenneth Reed, a descendant of the Reed family. I have come to pay my respects to General Melissa Quinton and offer a small gift as a token of my appreciation"
A young man presented a thick gift. Standing next to him was a middle aged man.
"I am Marcel Tristan Ridge. I have come to pay my respects to General Melissa and offer a small gift" the other person said humbly.
However, Melissa didn't even look at them and left directly. It was Charles Wellington who took a second look at the person who called himself Marcel Ridge. He remembered that the chairman of Tristan Group was also called Marcel Ridge?
After looking at him, Charles hurriedly joined Melissa in her car.
After leaving the Reed family, Melissa sent Charles back to the Logan family villa.
"Don't forget what you promised me. After the Logan family's matter is settled, you must tell me what you saw that night at the Luxe lounge" Melissa suddenly said before Charles got off the car.
Charles Wellington smiled and nodded.
"Don't worry. But General Mu, are you not afraid that this will spread to the Wellington family?" Charles asked.
"I'm afraid they don't know about it!" Melissa sneered.
"Also, there's one more thing I want to tell you. As far as I know, your bastard brother is coming to Orange county, with your mother soon. If you want to see them, you'd better listen to me. Otherwise, you won't have a chance to see your mother."
Zrommmmmmmm!
Amidst the roar, the luxury car carrying Melissa Quinton had already gone far away.
Only Charles Wellington remained standing in the same spot, his thoughts complicated.
"Mother?"
"What a strange word..."
Charles shook his head and laughed, then he then went inside.
However, when he arrived at the villa's door entrance, he saw a graceful figure waiting there.
"Where did you go?" Yvonne Logan's expression was blank, her gaze fixed on Charles Wellington.
Chu Lin was taken aback.
"Oh, has the sun risen in the west? When did Miss Logan start caring about the itinerary of a country bumpkin like me?"
Charles joked.
"Answer my question." Yvonne was suddenly serious.
Charles felt uneasy.
Did she find out about his entanglement with another woman, chasing after him?
He thought about it and decided not to let her know.
After all, he was still officially engaged to Yvonne Logan. If Yvonne found out that he was involved with another woman, it would not be good.
"I went to the cemetery and paid my respects to Grandpa Logan" Charles lied.
"You didn't go to the Reed family?" Yvonne asked.
Charles's eye twitched. Did this woman follow him?
"Well, I wouldn't be able to get in anyway." Charles laughed nervously.
Yvonne frowned even deeper.
Did she really see it wrong just now?
But that figure really looked too much like Charles.
Yvonne Logan stared at Charles Wellington for ten seconds before finally choosing to believe his words.
After all, a poor country boy like him really had no right to see the Reed family.
"By the way, I have a friend who knows Mr Samuel Reed. If you have time tomorrow, you can..."
Chu Lin still wanted Yvonne Logan and Samuel Reed to meet. This way, if Logan Group had any needs, they could be brought up to Mr Reed in person.
But Yvonne interrupted him.
"Don't make these kinds of jokes anymore, they're not funny at all. You have no idea what kind of person Mr Reed is. Even my grandfather couldn't touch his circle. What makes you think you can?"
After Yvonne Logan finished speaking, she went back to her room, leaving Charles Wellington standing there helplessly with a bitter smile. This woman really underestimated him?
The night passed quickly. Since tomorrow was the weekend and there was no need to go to work, Charles Wellington planned to rest at home for a day. But during breakfast, James Logan suddenly gave Charles Wellington some money and asked him to go out and have some fun. He even suggested so many fun areas and locations around Orange county for Charles to try out
"No need, Uncle James" Charles wanted to refuse. He had never been interested in visiting tourist attractions.
When he was in the village, besides practicing and cultivating, his only interest was looking at girls.
"No, you have to go. If your master finds out that we neglected you, it won't be good" James Logan insisted.
"f it weren't for Yvonne and I having something to do today, we would have taken you out ourselves." James Logan added.
Charles Wellington had no choice but to agree. After breakfast, he went out.
"Have some fun for a while, try some of city's cuisine at a restaurant for lunch, and come back home for dinner" Yvonne said, which was rare for her.
Charles had no choice but to comply.
At the door, James Logan loudly instructed.
"Wait until Charles Wellington is gone before you come out."
After Charles had walked away, Linda Logan frowned and looked at her husband and daughter.
"What are you two up to? Why didn't you let Charles stay at home?"
