** Chapter 1**
In a bustling restaurant, two friends, Elsa and Melda, were sitting at a table, surrounded by laughter and chatter. However, their conversation was anything but light. Elsa, visibly overwhelmed, let out a desperate cry.
"My life! My liiiiife! How, how could this happen? I'm sooo screwed." Her voice trembled under the weight of her emotions.
Melda, in a pragmatic tone, replied: "Are you done? "
"No, not yet! Listen, even if I sell my life to someone, no one will buy it. Even my story is so bad that if I give it away for free to the cinema, no one would even watch." Elsa's distress was palpable.
Melda couldn't help but chuckle lightly. "And here I am, the victim of hearing this for free without asking for anything. Don't you feel a bit sorry for me?"
Elsa looked down. "You're my only friend I can tell everything to, so please Melda, don't abandon me."
Melda nodded with a sigh. "Okay, but what are you going to do now?"
Elsa sighed deeply. "...I don't know! I have no home, my father is missing, my mother is in a coma, my sister is sick and my brother is in an emergency situation and then Rio is...(her eyes filled with sadness) dead. And all this debt we have to pay off. Where am I going to find money for that? It's not like it could just fall on my head like that. Anyway, I never believe in miracles."
Melda remained silent, looking at her sadly.
"But this time, just this once, I wish a miracle would fall on me. A handsome, rich and charming guy asks me to marry him in exchange for a large sum of money that I need. That would be cool right?"
Melda smiled softly. "You're right, and I'll pray for you that it happens at least once in your life."
Elsa suddenly sat up straight. "But you have a makeup class right? Go on, you're going to be late because of me."
"Are you sure?" Melda asked.
"Yes, don't worry. It's not the first time this has happened to me."
"Alright then, I'll see you at the hospital, okay?"
"Yes okay!" Elsa replied with a slight smile.
"Goodbye!" Melda got up and walked away.
"Goodbye!... Now that I'm alone, what should I do? Why is my life so pathetic?" murmured Elsa as she looked around her.
Suddenly, something fell on her head. She looked up in surprise: "Huh? What is that?" She picked up the mysterious object and her gaze lit up upon discovering a sparkling black card.
"Wow! A black card??? Does that really exist?" she exclaimed.
A man then appeared confidently in front of her. "Excuse me! I believe you're holding something that belongs to me."
"Yes! Can you please give it back to me?" he asked politely.
"Well... of course! Here you go!" she said, handing over the card while still in shock.
"Thank you!" he replied with a warm smile.
A servant beside him apologized, "I'm sorry, sir, I was so clumsy that I almost lost your card."
The man remained calm: "It's nothing!... You can leave now!"
The servant nodded and quickly walked away.
Elsa suddenly felt nervous: "...Umm, I didn't steal it; I just found it on the ground since it fell on my head and..."
"Very well, you can keep it!" he simply said.
Elsa's eyes widened: "Huh?"
"You can have this card if you want!"
She frowned suspiciously: "Is this a trap or are you a mentally ill person?"
He smiled gently: "Aside from my legs that can't walk, I'm completely fine."
Intrigued but wary, Elsa asked, "So why are you giving this to me?"
"Because I have a job to offer you," he replied seriously.
"What job?" she inquired.
With a calm assurance in his voice, he declared: "To marry me."
The words echoed in Elsa's mind like a sweet unreal melody. She almost murmured to herself: "Really?... I'm not dreaming, am I?" She pinched her arm to check her reality: "Ouch!... No, I'm not dreaming! Why me?"
The man replied calmly: "Because you need money and I need a wife. What do you say? Unless my legs bother you and I don't meet your criteria then..."
Elsa shook her head vigorously: "Not at all, you're handsome and that's enough for me. It's okay! When can I start my job?"
He smiled widely at her unexpected response: "Let's say now!"
Surprise painted Elsa's face as she realized the magnitude of what had just been proposed to her: "What?"
