Chapter 9 - chapter nine.

Babe," Dami called out.

"Yeah?" Helena answered from the kitchen.

"The party is at 7 p.m. I'll be back from classes around five-ish. What time will you be home?"

"I'll be back by two at the latest, but… I still don't think I want to go," Helena admitted.

Dami walked up behind her and hugged her, resting her chin on Helena's shoulder. "Come on. We've been dating for three months now, and you've only met my friends like three times," she teased, placing soft kisses on Helena's neck.

"Five times," Helena corrected, trying to wiggle free. Dami 's hugs always made her resolve waver. "And that's because I don't think they like me."

"They like you," Dami said, holding her tighter. "Besides, I'll be with you the whole time. You're going home soon—don't you want to spend every moment you can with your girlfriend?"

"That's manipulation," Helena said, laughing. "You're a wicked, wicked girl."

Dami grinned and kissed her cheek before grabbing her bag and heading out the door. Helena stood there watching her, a smile tugging at her lips.

The last three months had been the happiest of Helena's life. Two weeks after Dami asked her to be her girlfriend, she'd asked her to move in, and Helena had agreed. Their relationship was a secret, but it was okay—they were happy.

As promised, Dami had kept up their driving lessons, and now Helena was good enough to have passed her driving test. Her license would arrive in the mail any day now.

Helena loved Dami. She'd known it for weeks now, but every time she tried to say it, she chickened out. Dami hadn't said it either, but Helena could feel it. School would be closing soon, and Helena would be heading home to spend the break with her mom. Before she left, she wanted Dami to know.

Dami got home to find Helena already dressed. She wore a glittering dark-blue dress that matched her eyes. Dami stood frozen for a moment, marveling at her beauty.

Some nights, Dami woke up just to watch her sleep, wondering what she had done to deserve someone so amazing. But then reality would creep in. Outside their bubble, their relationship was illegal, a sin. Dami didn't want to think about that right now.

"Do you like it?" Helena asked, a little nervous.

Dami didn't respond, she slowly approached her, mischief swirling in her dark eyes, "we might be a little late," she said, grabbing Helena hips and pushing her against the wall, she held her neck and kissed her slowly.

"Have I ever told you, how beautiful you are," Dami whispered against her lips,

"Many times, but it wouldn't hurt to hear it again,"

"You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen and will ever see,"

"That is so cheezy." .
