Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Despicable Me

Colonel Hammond might be greedy, but he wasn't stupid!

He never dared to mess with the base's food supply.

After all, if he provoked the wrath of the troops and caused a mutiny, he'd be in trouble as well. His position as a marine colonel would come to an abrupt end.

So, the cafeteria had an abundance of vegetables and meat, all available without limit.

Jay took full advantage of this and had an absolute feast.

However, his attitude made quite a few people in the cafeteria unhappy.

A few of them decided to have some fun.

"Hey, kid! Nice bow. Looks like you had quite the 'experience' in the confinement room."

"When Johnson gets here, will you be bending over and begging for mercy?"

"Hahaha, don't say that! Johnson isn't into that stuff. But I don't mind. Maybe I'll bring a few buddies along to 'support his business'."

"Ugh, damn it, Clayton! You're disgusting as always!"

"Why, thank you"

The cafeteria erupted into laughter.

Jay glanced at the gray cloth bow tied around his left wrist. Then, he raised his head and memorized the faces of those who had just mocked him, one by one.

"Deal with Johnson first, then take care of these extras."

Jay already had a plan, so he didn't bother responding to their provocations.

As for the bow on his wrist, it was a requirement for activating the passive ability of his white-tier character card, [Terauchi Kiyoshi]. Although the card's effect was weak, it was better than nothing. He had torn a strip from his clothing to make the bow.

That said, it was hard to say whether it was really doing anything…

At least he gained something from the experience: he finally figured out how the Fusion mechanism worked.

[Terauchi Kiyoshi]

~From: Demon Slayer world

~Tag: Medical staff at Butterfly Mansion, a logistics and medical facility for the Demon Slayer Corps

~Rarity: White

~Passive Ability: Logistics Medic – Slightly accelerates injury recovery when resting. (Activated)

~Activation Condition: Wear a bow.

~Status: Eligible for Fusion.

~Fusion Requirement: Wear a bow continuously for thirty days.

The [Terauchi Kiyoshi] card, which was originally [Non-Fusable], had now changed to [Fusable].

The reason? This card only had one attached ability, and it was already activated.

Once all attached abilities of a character card are activated, the Fusion Condition appears.

By meeting this condition, the attached ability permanently integrates into Jay's body without occupying a card slot.

After figuring this out, Jay immediately realized that even low-rarity character cards might still be useful in the future.

So, was wearing a bow embarrassing?

Hell no!

Bows are fabulous, alright?!

To the onlookers, however, Jay's indifference was just further proof that he was scared, completely terrified.

This made many people look down on him even more.

They were now convinced that Johnson had only lost before because he was careless.

In reality, Jay was just a nobody.

Among those thinking this was none other than Johnson himself, who had finally arrived!

Johnson, his head still wrapped in bandages, stormed into the cafeteria with a dark expression.

His eyes quickly locked onto Jay, who was still eating as if nothing had happened.

This brat not only walked out of confinement alive but even had the audacity to show up and eat here like it was no big deal…

He was completely disregarding Johnson!

CRASH!

Johnson stomped forward with a cruel grin and flipped Jay's table over. Plates and bowls shattered as they crashed onto the floor.

"Congratulations on getting out, kid," Johnson sneered. "Do you remember what I told you? From now on, every single day, I'll make your life a living hell. You'll regret ever being born."

"Yeah, that's the way!"

"Show him who's boss, Johnson!"

"Haha, no way he can take that! Go on, kid, fight back!"

"If you're scared, you might as well bend over now~"

The whole cafeteria erupted in cheers.

These people loved drama.

As long as they didn't disturb Colonel Hammond, nothing would happen to them.

CLANG!

The cafeteria doors were slammed shut and locked.

No one was allowed to leave, just in case someone tried to snitch like last time.

Jay took a deep breath, his voice calm.

"I originally wanted to settle this peacefully."

"But now, I've changed my mind."

"Today, only one of us is walking out of here."

The moment he finished speaking

BAM!

Jay launched a kick straight at Johnson's crotch!

It wasn't a fancy move.

But it was effective.

However, having suffered this exact attack before, Johnson was already on guard.

He easily dodged the kick and immediately countered with a powerful punch aimed directly at Jay's face.

"Hah! Is this all you got? Dirty tricks?!"

Johnson's Utter Contempt!

Jay quickly crouched, dodging the powerful punch before countering with a punch of his own.

Faced with this seemingly ordinary attack, Johnson instinctively reached out to grab it.

He had absolute confidence in his own strength.

His plan was simple, catch the kid's fist, then slowly twist and break his arm!

However

"AHHHH!"

A miserable scream erupted from Johnson's mouth.

Two snapped chopsticks had pierced straight through his palm, blood gushing out!

So what if it was a dirty trick?

This was a fight to the death. Only the one who survives gets to argue about honor. The dead don't even get a chance to complain!

BANG!

Jay seized the opportunity, grabbed a chair, and smashed it over Johnson's head, shattering it into pieces.

"I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"

The wound on Johnson's head split open again, staining his bandages red.

With bloodshot eyes, he roared like an enraged beast and lunged at Jay.

And Jay?

Without hesitation, he turned and ran.

Johnson gritted his teeth, yanked the broken chopsticks from his palm, and chased after him with a twisted expression.

Run?

Where the hell did he think he was going to run?

I'm going to tear this bastard apart!

But once again, Johnson was wrong.

Jay wasn't running just to escape.

Earlier, while eating, he had carefully observed the cafeteria's layout.

And he had noticed things he could use.

For example

The stacks of flour bags piled in the corner.

Jay grabbed one and hurled it straight at Johnson!

BOOM!

Johnson reflexively punched forward, bursting the entire bag of flour!

A cloud of flour exploded, covering him completely in white.

Flour even got into his eyes, making it impossible to open them properly. Even when he forced them open, all he could see was a blurry white haze, like a manually applied censor mosaic.

Seizing the moment

Jay grabbed a pot of boiling hot water and hurled it at Johnson!

SPLASH!

"AAAHHHH!!!"

Even though Johnson instinctively shielded his face with his arms, he still got badly scalded.

His skin immediately turned red and large blisters started forming.

The pain was so intense tears welled up in his eyes!
