Chapter 33 - Mo Shao Gave Me

Gu Kai shook his head, and a trace of disappointment flashed through Mo Yu's eyes as his tone sank slightly: "She is not."

Mo Xiuchen frowned slightly and said indifferently, "There is no evidence proving that she isn't. I investigated, and all the evidence points to the possibility that she is the little girl from back then."

Gu Kai observed his emotions carefully. Cheng Jia was the little girl who had saved him years ago, yet Xiuchen didn't seem happy about it. After a moment of hesitation, he asked softly, "So, how do you plan to handle her? Let me remind you, Cheng Jia may not have pure intentions toward you."

Although Gu Kai had no interest in women and only loved his scalpel, he had an accurate eye for them. The way Cheng Jia looked at Mo Xiuchen carried admiration. Even the fact that she had invited Wen Ran to the restroom seemed to have ulterior motives.

As for Mo Xiuchen's feelings toward Wen Ran, Gu Kai believed there was at least some level of interest and attraction.

Mo Xiuchen remained silent for a long time before finally speaking in a calm tone: "I'll keep her by my side and observe for now."

Something too perfect might just be fake.

Over the years, many people had known he was searching for that little girl. The fact that Cheng Jia happened to work at a hotel under the MS Group and had moved from H City to G City…

Restroom

When Wen Ran came out of the stall, Cheng Jia was standing in front of the mirror. Having already washed her hands, she didn't turn around but instead observed Wen Ran through the mirror. Casually, she asked, "Miss Wen, I heard that before you married Mo Shao, you were in a relationship with the second young master of the Mo family. Is that true?"

Wen Ran glanced at Cheng Jia indifferently, lowered her head to wash her hands, and instead of answering, she asked in return, "Miss Cheng, did you ask me to come to the restroom just for this?"

Cheng Jia was momentarily stunned, seemingly not expecting Wen Ran to respond this way. A trace of embarrassment flashed across her face, but she quickly concealed it, putting on a fake smile. "Of course not, I was just curious. If you mind, just pretend I never asked."

Her smile faded as she changed the subject, looking sorrowful. "If Mo Shao hadn't been harmed by those people back then, he wouldn't have issues in that regard. It's just a pity that I was too young at the time and don't remember anything from back then."

Noticing Wen Ran's hand-washing movements pause slightly, a hint of satisfaction flickered in Cheng Jia's eyes as she deepened her tone of sadness. "When I was six, I fell ill and forgot everything from before. If Mo Shao hadn't found me, I wouldn't have even known that I had saved him when I was five."

Wen Ran looked at Cheng Jia in surprise. She had saved Mo Xiuchen when she was five? And then lost all memories of it after falling ill at six?

This part of her story was strangely similar to Wen Ran's own experience. When she was six, she had also been sick and lost all her memories from before.

However, this at least explained why a mere employee of an MS Group hotel could dine with Mo Xiuchen.

Seeing Wen Ran's gaze sweep over her outfit and accessories, Cheng Jia immediately said, "This dress was bought for me by Mo Shao during a business trip. This necklace was also a gift from him. Miss Wen, your necklace is so beautiful. Did Mo Shao give it to you as well?"

Cheng Jia turned around, raising her hand to touch the necklace at her neck, looking at Wen Ran with admiration. Her expression showed no sign of deliberate boasting or jealousy. Although her necklace was beautiful, it was not as exquisite or valuable as Wen Ran's.

Looking at Cheng Jia in front of her, Wen Ran suddenly recalled Bai Xiaoxiao's favorite insult—"white lotus."

Men might not always distinguish between good and bad women, but women could always recognize a green tea bitch and a white lotus.

It was an instinct among women, just like Wen Ran's. Even though she had only just met Cheng Jia and spoken just a few sentences with her, she was certain that Cheng Jia had some ulterior motives toward Mo Xiuchen.

Wen Ran wasn't feeling displeased or jealous. She had no emotional attachment to Mo Xiuchen. Even if Cheng Jia and Mo Xiuchen were in love, she wouldn't feel envious. If Mo Xiuchen wanted a divorce, she might even grant his wish.
