"Eh! Y-You want to kill him?!"
Both Juvia and Wendy exclaimed in shock.
"Yeah."
"I wasn't planning to kill him at first, but did you see the look in his eyes? It was full of hatred, as if he'd definitely come back for revenge."
"I figure, rather than giving him a chance for revenge, it's better to just get rid of him now."
Kei spoke calmly.
"That... That makes so much sense!"
Metalicana, hiding within Gajeel's body, couldn't help but agree. It was a logical approach, after all.
"You idiot! Stop admiring his reasoning! It's your child who's about to be killed!"
"Hurry up and do something to stop this!"
Grandeeney shouted.
"Even if you say that, what can I do? Unless I come out right now and beat your child to a pulp."
Metalicana was helpless. At the moment, Gajeel was utterly powerless against Kei. Whether he lived or died was up to Kei's mercy.
"You... You! If you're so strong, then let me get up! Let's have a real fight!"
Gajeel had been frightened at first, but after some time, his fighting spirit returned, and he shouted that he wanted a rematch with Kei.
"See? This brat's still mouthing off. I should just finish him off."
Kei raised his hand, and dark red energy condensed into a blade.
"If you're gonna kill me, just do it! If I beg for mercy, then I'm nothing but trash... Let me up, and I'll fight you to the death!"
Before Gajeel could finish speaking, Wendy rushed over and hit him on the head.
"Stop being so stubborn! Just apologize properly, and Nii-chan won't kill you. Hurry up and apologize!"
Wendy pleaded earnestly. Her kind heart didn't want to see Gajeel get killed, so she tried her best to convince him.
"Apologize? Why should I apologize?! Let me get up if you're so tough!"
Gajeel continued to shout.
—
"Your child is so rude, just like you, always asking for a beating."
Grandeeney commented.
"That brat's always had a bad temper. What's it got to do with me? I'm nothing like him, and I'm not weak like he is."
Metalicana retorted stubbornly, refusing to acknowledge his own shortcomings.
—
"See? He's still running his mouth. Wendy, step aside. Don't get blood on you."
Kei raised his hand, ready to cut Gajeel down.
"Wait! Gajeel, I remember you admire the strong, right? What if I let you stand up and fight again, and you lose?"
Juvia suddenly spoke up.
"If I lose... If I lose, then you can do whatever you want. I'll even be your underling if you want. But you have to fight me fairly, no using those weird spells!"
Gajeel glanced at Juvia, feeling like she seemed familiar, but he couldn't place her.
"Hmph, I refuse. You're too weak. Taking you as a lackey is pointless."
"What did you say? This great Gajeel is super strong! How can I be useless?!"
"Then what use do you have? When we met, I pinned you down and crushed you. What good are you?"
"I... I..."
Gajeel searched for words but couldn't find anything to argue with. It seemed like all he was good at was fighting.
And even at that, he had clearly been defeated.
"I... I know where another Dragon Slayer is. You'd probably be interested in that, right?!"
Gajeel suddenly remembered Kei's ability to absorb his Dragon Power. He figured this information might interest him.
"Hmph, I guess that makes you slightly useful."
"Alright, let's have a fight. If I win, you'll tell me where that Dragon Slayer is. If I..."
"Forget it, I'm not going to lose anyway."
Kei retracted his Dragon Aura, and once the pressure was gone, Gajeel immediately stood up.
"Fine! If you win, you can do whatever you want!"
Gajeel was full of unwillingness. The moment he stood up, he charged forward and swung his fist at Kei. He refused to believe he would lose again.
He admitted Kei's magic was powerful, but when it came to pure physical combat, he was raised by a dragon!
How could he lose to a human?!
...
Five minutes later.
Gajeel was lying on the ground, his eyes filled with disbelief. He couldn't bring himself to stand up.
It wasn't because of his injuries. It was the overwhelming blow to his pride.
"One punch... Just one punch, and I was knocked out cold!"
"No magic, just pure physical strength. One punch knocked me out! Am I really just trash? Am I really that weak?!"
All of Gajeel's pride and confidence had been shattered by Kei's single punch. It was a punch that crushed his dreams of being strong!
—
"Well, at least your child is still alive."
Grandeeney commented.
"Hmph... Yeah, he's alive. But your brat knocked him out with a single punch. Hahaha..."
Metalicana couldn't accept the reality of it. Losing in magic was one thing. After all, Grandeeney was the Sky Dragon, known for magic.
But in physical combat?
One punch knocked him out!
He was an Iron Dragon! His body was as hard as steel! When had he ever been treated like this before? In terms of pure combat, he wasn't even afraid of Igneel!
—
"Nii-chan, Nii-chan! I found a huge egg!"
Wendy came running over, holding an egg almost as big as she was. She excitedly held it up for Kei to see.
"It's pretty big. Should be enough to make a good meal for us."
Kei nodded and took the egg with one hand, planning to fry it up for lunch.
"No way! Nii-chan, no! I want to hatch it and see what's inside!"
"M-Maybe there's a little sister inside! You can't eat it!"
Wendy had been so happy a moment ago, but when she heard Kei wanted to eat her egg, she became upset and hugged it tightly.
"There's no way it's a little sister. This is an egg, and we're mammals. There's no way it has a little sister inside."
Kei looked at Wendy's adorable yet confused expression. It seemed like she didn't understand what he was saying. Talking to kids was such a pain.
"Fine, keep it if you want. Once it hatches, we can eat the meat then."
Kei released his grip, but Wendy was still trying to hold on so hard that when he let go, she accidentally fell backward.
The egg slipped out of her hands and drew a beautiful arc through the air before landing perfectly into a cooking pot.
Crack!
The eggshell broke.
"M-My egg cracked!"
Wendy was about to burst into tears, but Kei stopped her.
"Wait, don't cry. It looks like something's inside."
Kei walked over and opened the eggshell, revealing a white, winged cat staring at them with big eyes.
"A kitty! So cute!"
Wendy picked up the white cat from the egg and lifted it up for Kei to see.
"See, I told you! There was a little sister in the egg!"
