Chapter 21 - 21:Luffy, The Stupid Genius, and Akainu, The Devastated

"First, let's understand what Marine Six Styles is. The first question: how many types of Marine Six Styles are there?"

Akainu stood tall with his hands behind his back, looking down at a very eager yet clueless little Luffy.

"Five!" Luffy shouted immediately, grinning.

Akainu frowned. "No! Listen carefully. I asked you about the Marine Six Styles. How many types are there?"

Luffy nodded seriously, then held up four fingers. "Four kinds!"

Akainu's eyebrow twitched. He staggered slightly but composed himself.

"I'll repeat it again. Marine Six Styles. Pay attention—SIX! How many are there in total?"

Luffy grinned widely, stretched out three fingers, and proudly declared, "Three!"

Akainu nearly collapsed.

This kid... Is he messing with me?

"Are you joking?" he asked, struggling to keep his composure. Normally, his temper would have exploded by now, but Ron had repeatedly instructed him to control himself.

Onboard a nearby warship, Garp stood on deck, gripping the railing tightly as he watched Akainu struggle with Luffy's complete lack of logic.

"Commissar Ron," Garp said, his voice filled with exasperation. "I think Sakazuki is about to lose it. Are you teaching Luffy here or training Akainu's patience?"

Ron, standing calmly nearby with a thermos cup in hand, smirked. His white Marine cloak fluttered lightly in the wind.

"Both," Ron said smoothly.

"Sakazuki has a hot temper. People like him are prone to extremes in the future. This is a great opportunity to use Luffy's stupidity to temper him. Teaching Luffy requires extreme patience, and for someone like Sakazuki, who lacks patience, this is a perfect challenge."

Ron took a sip from his thermos and continued.

"This is more than just a lesson for Luffy. It's training for Sakazuki as well."

Garp blinked, then took a deep breath.

It finally made sense.

No wonder Ron specifically assigned Akainu to this task.

It was a test of patience, discipline, and self-restraint.

Observers from Other Timelines

"(Former) Sengoku: Incredible! This Commissar Ron is something else!"

"(Former) Tsuru: He's not just shaping the Marines. He's molding them into the best versions of themselves without them even realizing it. He assigns tasks to people based on their personalities and, in the process, improves them. It's not forced discipline—it's a subtle transformation. That's the best kind of leadership!"

"(Former) Garp: I may not understand all the details, but now I get why this version of Sakazuki is so different. Ron must have quietly trained him without him even realizing it."

Akainu's Breaking Point

Akainu inhaled deeply and tried one last time.

"Okay, I'll make this simple," he said. "Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5—so how many?"

Luffy, as confident as ever, shouted:

"Three!"

Akainu's entire body stiffened.

His magma veins were about to burst from sheer frustration.

Why?

Why does he keep saying three?!

This kid… is impossible!

"(Current) Tashigi: Hahaha! I never imagined Admiral Luffy was such an idiot as a kid!"

"(Current) Hina: Luffy, let me interview you! Did you study comedy when you were young? I haven't laughed this hard in years!"

"(Current) Luffy: AHEM! Can we please fast forward this part? I have a reputation to maintain! Just skip this scene already!"

But of course, the video did not skip.

It kept playing.

"(Current) Kizaru: No wonder Sakazuki didn't speak to anyone for days after teaching Luffy that time~"

"(Current) Sengoku: But thanks to Ron's influence, your temper did improve after that experience, didn't it, Sakazuki?"

"(Current) Akainu: It's all Garp's fault! He never laid any foundation for Luffy's education! I can't believe Luffy didn't even know how to count before he was five!"

"(Current) Garp: Ahem, yes, I admit my teaching methods were a bit… unconventional, haha!"

From Hopeless to Genius

Akainu finally gave up.

He rubbed his temples.

There was no point in asking Luffy any more questions. He decided to move straight to practical training.

"If you can't remember how many types there are, then don't bother," Akainu sighed. "Let's just start with the easiest one—Shave (Soru)."

Akainu demonstrated.

With a burst of speed, he vanished from where he stood.

Luffy's eyes widened in amazement.

When Akainu reappeared over ten meters away, the young boy was stunned.

"WHOA! THAT'S SO COOL!!"

Luffy was bouncing with excitement.

"Alright, listen carefully," Akainu said. "The principle behind this technique is—"

He paused.

Then sighed.

"Never mind. I'll make it simple for you. You have to stomp your feet on the ground more than ten times in an instant. The force builds up and bursts out all at once, propelling your body forward at incredible speed."

Luffy nodded quickly.

"Got it!"

He took a deep breath.

Then, mimicking Akainu's stance, he stomped the ground forcefully.

And—

WHOOSH!

Luffy disappeared.

…For three meters.

Then—

CRASH!

"Ouch! My head hurts!" Luffy groaned, sprawled on the ground.

Akainu was speechless.

This kid…

This idiot…

Had actually done it on his first try?!

Even though Luffy's movement was sloppy and he crashed into the dirt, it was still Marine Six Styles' Shave (Soru)!

"(Current) Tashigi: …Wait. Luffy just pulled it off on the first try?"

"(Current) Kizaru: Yo~ Sakazuki, I think you found yourself a prodigy~"

"(Current) Sengoku: Now this is shocking. Most Marines struggle for weeks to grasp even the basics of Soru. Luffy figured it out instantly."

"(Current) Akainu: …This brat is unbelievable."

For the first time since this ridiculous lesson began, Akainu was impressed.

At first, he thought Luffy was hopeless.

But now…

Now he saw something else.

Luffy wasn't stupid.

Not really.

He was just a different kind of genius.

A battle genius.

Closing Thoughts

On the warship, Garp laughed loudly.

"Looks like my grandson ain't so bad after all!"

Ron smirked. "His talent is one of a kind. He just needs proper guidance."

The people of both worlds watched in fascination.

The Luffy of their world had taken years to develop his strength.

But in this timeline, under Commissar Ron's influence, he was already on the right path at a young age.

The Marines, pirates, and revolutionaries watching all had the same thought:

"This world's Luffy… might become the strongest of all."
