Chapter 20 - 020. Ron’s Method of Educating Luffy

The Sworn Brothers' Reckless Adventures

After becoming sworn brothers, the three little troublemakers—Ace, Luffy, and Sabo—became notorious in the city.

They ate free meals, stole, fought, and cheated people.

In short, they did every bad thing they could think of.

People from both worlds watching the broadcast felt heartbroken.

These three had incredible potential, yet they were being raised in such an undisciplined way.

"(Present) Sengoku: Oh, these three are truly hopeless. This is all because of Garp. That man has no idea how to educate children properly."

Of course, Garp did visit them occasionally.

But his idea of education was mostly punching them into obedience.

He never really guided them onto the right path.

Then, one day, everything changed.

Sabo was caught by his parents.

---

Sabo's Painful Past

Sabo was born into a noble family.

Years later, his younger brother would become the king of Goa Kingdom.

But Sabo despised his home.

His family was obsessed with currying favor with the royal court, completely disregarding personal freedom and happiness.

The entire kingdom was twisted.

The rich treated the poor like garbage, driving them out of the city to live among the waste.

Sabo hated it all.

He wanted to escape.

He despised his home, his family, and this wretched kingdom.

After much effort, Sabo finally managed to run away and prepared to set sail early.

But then, disaster struck.

He encountered a Celestial Dragon.

Without hesitation, the noble fired a cannon at his ship, obliterating it.

Everyone on board was presumed dead.

But Sabo was rescued by a passing Dragon—the leader of the Revolutionary Army.

---

The Kingdom's Darkest Secret

That same day, the Goa Kingdom decided to erase its ugly history completely.

They set fire to the Uncertain Terminal.

It didn't matter if it was garbage or people—everything was burned to ashes.

Their screams filled the night, but no one in the royal city cared.

Inside the castle, there was nothing but singing, dancing, and celebration.

As if the massacre outside had nothing to do with them.

As if they had only burned trash, not human lives.

After this night, Goa Kingdom could continue to live under the false praise of being East Blue's "most beautiful kingdom."

No one would remember the poor souls sacrificed for its so-called perfection.

The Marines from the original world clenched their fists.

"(Original) Sengoku: Damn it! So this is how they've been hiding their crimes. No wonder we never found out. If we weren't dealing with Whitebeard right now, I'd send Marines to investigate immediately!"

"(Original) Sengoku: By the way, how did you deal with this in your world?!"

Sengoku was furious.

But before his counterpart could respond, a system warning appeared.

"(Present) Sengoku: I can't answer that—it's a spoiler. The system has already warned me. But don't worry, when the video plays, you'll find out soon enough."

Then, the screen froze.

It zoomed in on the raging fire outside Goa Kingdom.

And then—

A new video started playing.

This was the story from the Admiral Luffy timeline.

---

A Different Beginning: Admiral Luffy's Training

Little Luffy ran down the hill, tears streaming down his face.

Behind him, a massive wild boar was in hot pursuit.

"Help! Help!"

He sprinted toward a group of Marines stationed nearby.

"Save him!" The Marines immediately raised their rifles and fired.

But the boar was too tough—ordinary bullets couldn't pierce its thick hide.

Just as it seemed like Luffy would be trampled—

A foot stomped onto the boar's head.

Sizzle—

In an instant, the beast was roasted alive, its flesh giving off a delicious aroma.

Akainu blew out a puff of smoke.

"Children shouldn't run around recklessly."

Then, he reached into his pocket, pulled out a lollipop, and shoved it into Luffy's mouth.

"(Original) Sengoku: Am I seeing this right? Is that really Akainu?! Isn't he the guy who hates crying children the most?!"

"(Original) Kizaru: Is his brain fried or something?"

Luffy sniffled as he sucked on the lollipop.

"I… I thought I could beat it… Wahhh, I'm too weak! How can I join the Marines like this?"

"You're rushing things. You can't defeat a wild boar without any training."

"But… you guys are leaving soon! I have to prove that I'm strong—that I'm a real man! Only then will that Marine brother let me join the Marines!"

Luffy wiped his tears and looked up.

"Then do you want to become stronger?" Akainu asked.

"Yes! Of course! Can I be as strong as you?"

"Of course."

"Can I be as strong as Grandpa?"

"You mean Garp? Of course."

Luffy's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Can I be as amazing as that Marine brother?"

"You mean Commissar Ron? That's impossible."

Akainu shook his head immediately.

No need to even think about it.

"Why not?"

"Is he really that strong? Stronger than Grandpa? Stronger than you?"

Luffy was curious.

Akainu laughed.

"Haha, are you kidding? Your grandpa and I are no match for the Political Commissar. He's the strongest person I've ever met."

Luffy's admiration for Ron skyrocketed.

Now, he was even more eager to gain Ron's recognition and join the Marines.

But how could he get stronger?

Oh!

Wasn't there a strong person standing right in front of him?

Why not ask him for training?

"Then can you teach me how to defeat the wild boar?"

Luffy asked, his voice filled with expectation.

"Haha, defeat a wild boar? Sure."

Luffy was overjoyed. He hadn't expected Akainu to agree so easily!

"I want to learn that fire move you did just now!"

"I'm afraid that won't work."

Akainu shook his head.

"That ability comes from my Devil Fruit. Only those with Fire-type Devil Fruits can use it."

"But I can teach you something even better—Marine Six Styles. Once you master it, you'll have no problem taking down a wild boar."

"Really?!"

Luffy had no idea what Marine Six Styles was.

But if it could defeat a wild boar—

It must be powerful!

Excitedly, he agreed.

If he learned this, maybe that handsome Marine brother would finally recognize him!

Ron's Strategic Planning

On a distant warship deck, Garp watched the scene unfold.

He turned to Ron and sighed.

"Political Commissar, how did you know Luffy would run down this exact path and that Sakazuki would be here to intercept him?"

Ron took a sip of tea and smiled.

"Simple. I used Observation Haki to predict the future."

Garp's face darkened.

It was easy for Ron to say, but…

He had stationed Akainu here 30 minutes ago.

What kind of Observation Haki could predict events half an hour in advance?!

"Then… did you also use your Haki to predict that Luffy would ask Akainu for training?"

"No. That was just common sense."

Hearing this, the people in the original world gasped.

"(Original) Sengoku: This Commissar Ron… He's terrifying. Even I, the Resourceful General, must admit defeat to his strategic thinking."

"(Original) Akainu: He didn't force Luffy into the Marines—he guided him to actively seek knowledge.** That's real education."
