Ava's voice was full of fear. "Marcel, what's going on? Where are we?"
Marcel's eyes scanned the horizon, taking in the desolate landscape. The skies were a deep, burning crimson, and the air was thick with an otherworldly energy.
"I don't know," Marcel replied, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I think we're a long way from home."
Ava's grip on his hand tightened. "What do you mean? We used the device to get back to our own world."
Marcel shook his head. "I think we did, but something's wrong. This isn't our world. Not anymore."
As they stood there, trying to make sense of their surroundings, Marcel noticed something strange. The air seemed to be distorting, as if reality itself was bending and warping.
Ava saw it too. "Marcel, what's happening?"
Marcel's eyes were fixed on the distortion. "I don't know, but I think it's connected to the anomalies."
Suddenly, the distortion vanished, leaving behind a figure. It was a woman, tall and statuesque, with long, flowing hair and piercing green eyes.
"Welcome, Marcel," she said, her voice low and husky. "I've been waiting for you."
Marcel's eyes narrowed. "Who are you?"
The woman smiled. "My name is Echo. And I'm here to show you the truth about this world."
Ava's voice was suspicious. "What truth?"
Echo's eyes seemed to bore into Marcel's soul. "The truth about the anomalies. The truth about the world you left behind."
Marcel's heart was pounding in his chest. He knew that he had to hear what Echo had to say.
"Tell me," Marcel said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Echo's smile grew wider. "The anomalies were just the beginning. They were a symptom of a much larger problem. A problem that threatens to destroy not just your world, but all worlds."
Marcel's eyes widened in shock. All worlds?
Ava's voice was full of fear. "What do you mean?"
Echo's eyes seemed to cloud over, as if she was seeing something far away. "The fabric of reality is unraveling. The anomalies were just the first sign. Now, entire worlds are beginning to collapse."
Marcel's heart sank. This was worse than he had ever imagined.
"What can we do?" Marcel asked, his voice desperate.
Echo's smile grew wider. "You, Marcel, are the key. You have a role to play in saving not just your world, but all worlds."
Marcel's eyes narrowed. What role could he possibly play?
But before he could ask, Echo vanished, leaving Marcel and Ava staring at each other in shock.
As they stood there, trying to process what they had just heard, Marcel realized that their journey was far from over. In fact, it was just beginning.
And Marcel knew that he was ready. He was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, to save not just his world, but all worlds.
But as he looked at Ava, Marcel saw the fear in her eyes. And he knew that he wasn't alone in this journey. He had Ava by his side, and together, they would face whatever lay ahead.
As they stood there, the crimson skies stretching out before them, Marcel knew that their journey was just beginning. And he was ready.
