Chapter 8 - Keep the Window Closed

Waking up from a good nap is a literal torture, especially when you have nothing to do. Fighting my inner demons to get up, I finally stood up from my bed and walked towards the bathroom to make myself a human again. (Trust me when I say that. When I wake up, my hair looks no less than a bird's nest).

After I no longer looked like a vagabond, I entered back into my room with a sigh, already feeling tired even though I had literally just woken up. Just then, I saw something weird. Something that shouldn't have been where it was. Something I didn't recognise. It was a letter. A letter kept on my bed. It wasn't there when I woke up, which was not even 10 minutes ago. I looked around, terrified. Someone was here. It couldn't have been my mom or my sister because the door was closed. The window. It had to be the window, it struck me. It was open, I remember closing it before I slept. The only person I know who is capable of doing something this sort is him, the stalker. But why would he do this? He could've just texted me. I looked around waving the letter in my hand for him to notice that I had received it. Maybe he'd just text me later? I thought.

I opened the letter-

Meet me in Brydges place, 11:00 pm. Tonight .

No context? No nothing. This was unusual. I contemplated what to do and well, curiosity got the best of me and I decided to go. The thought of seeing him tonight in person made me nervous.

Stalker's pov-

Today for me was indescribable. I heard her voice, talking to me and me alone. I know I've heard her voice a million times, I even have cassette of her voice recordings from everyday but never have I ever heard her like this. It was new and exciting. I ought to celebrate. Whiskey, that's what I'll have. The musky smell of alcohol reminds me of her. I also need alcohol to control myself from not killing that jackass boy, Alex. He sat next to her. It took every single cell of my body to not barge in there and kill him with my bare hands. To slice those hand off his body, the same ones that dared to touch what's mine, Eve. Her calling me was the only reason I stopped myself from committing yet another murder, right then and there. Her voice sounded so cute and the way she seemed so desperate to talk to me. She wants me just the way I want her, I know. She knew that I would follow her back home and the fact she said so herself, made me want more.

I saw her getting ready to take a nap, so, I decided to take care of a few things I had on hand. I'd be back before she wakes up to not miss a single second of my precious one's life. Also, I need to get even better computer screens for the cameras. I want to see her as real as possible. As soon as possible.

Third-person pov-

It was almost 10:50 p.m and Eve could be noticed walking towards an abandoned alley, shivering slightly as her body made contact with the chilled air in the narrow pathway. Somewhere, in the pit of her stomach, she felt something was off about the place. Also, it had been almost half an hour since she left from home and she had still not felt his gaze on her, which seemed kind of unusual.

Taking out her phone as she had finally approached the alley, she texts him,

"I'm here, where are you?".

And almost immediately, she gets a text back-

"what are you talking about, darling?, And why are not in your room right now?".

Eve:

"What do you mean where I am?, you told me to come here."

Stalker:

"I did not call you. Where are you right now, Eve?".

I was scared out of my wits. I called him the very instant that he told me it wasn't him. He picked up the same second. I, with my voice shaking spoke-

On Call-

Eve:

"The letter, on my bed. Did you not give it? Did you not ask me to meet you here at 11? I thought it was you. Who else would break into my room or ask me to meet them in such a manner?".

The Stalker: then replies, in his voice, for the very first time-

"No, Eve. I did not. Darling, you mustn't trust anyone that is not me. I, if want to reach out to you would somehow let you know it's me. Now, tell me your location and I'll be there as fast as I can". (His voice, it's sounds so raspy and sexy. Especially because he's mad and worried all-together. But, I need to pull myself together. Now is not the time to salivate over his voice).

Eve:

"I'm at the Brydges alley. It's so scary. There's no one around. Who the fuck would wanna mess with me?" .

Stalker:

"That's something we'll worry about later. Now, I want you to find a safe spot and hide there until I reach. Can you do that for me, baby?".

Eve hums in response

"Good girl. Now, Don't cut the call. Stay with me. I'm here for you. But keep quiet, for someone might hear you. I'll there soon love, you'll be safe" .

The stalker hurries to get his sports bike and drives at the speed of 300km/hr to get to Eve as soon as possible.

Eve's pov-

Okay, I need to stop panicking and move smartly. Like he said, I should find a place to hid first. I looked around and noticed a huge metal rack. There weren't any other places that seemed safer so I quickly got behind the rack, making sure I wasn't visible. My mind drifts off to the thought of who it could be to play such jokes on me and call me to a place like such. I was indeed scared but knowing that he was well aware of the whole situation, I knew he wouldn't let even a soul touch me. He made me feel so much safer.

A loud thud then interrupted my thoughts as I flinched at the sudden, unpleasant sound. I slowly stood up from on my knees to face whosoever there was behind me. Unprepared, I turned around to find the face I despise the most. It was none other than...
