Chapter 24 - King Kai

Kami, a little surprised by King Kai's words. "May I ask, what do you mean by that, King Kai?"

King Kai snickered. "Oh nothing much, just to see if he kai do it. Pfft, bwahahaha, that was a good one."

"I'm a little lost here…"

"Surely you saw it too. This boy, Bosa, was it? He has just the right mix to become a Kai in training. We will see just how much but, for now, he's just a little interesting. To be able to use the otherworld's power to his own benefit, without any training, he'll be a force to be reckoned with with a little training."

King Kai teleported away, bringing Bosa along with him. This left everyone at the check-in station bewildered by what they just saw.

"Well, I'm going to head back to Earth now."

Kami left, and then the work began to flow once more. Souls were judged and sent to the right places. Also, King Yemma made a new rule; No bodies for those without a pure soul.

Kami returned, sensing something else was off. The previous event with Raditz is what tipped him off to this new potential threat. "Not good, there's two more on their way here. And both of them are way stronger than Raditz was."

Mr. Popo looked a little scared for a moment. "Kami, you're joking, please tell me that you are. We just lost a bright young boy to that previous invader."

Kami, with a bead of sweat dripping down his brow, looked at Mr. Popo. "That's why I'm going to tell them about this at the same time I inform them about Bosa's new master." He thought for a moment… "Mr. Popo, should I tell them about how Bosa managed to overpower Raditz in the Otherworld?"

"If they ask how young Bosa is, then perhaps. Though I'd hide it from the kids, they already have enough to worry about. I foresee a lot of tears, and painful nights ahead of them."

"You're right, to those three, Bosa was really their big brother. They did everything together, even asking for a specialized bed for the four of them to sleep together."

The living room carried a somber mood. Bulma was still crying into Goku's chest, and even though Chichi was feeling a little jealous, she was part of this comforting embrace, rubbing Bulma's back… She understood that this might not end with just a simple crying hug.

Launch was holding Chosho, Gohan, and Ushichi. The latter of which couldn't stop crying, her hands clenching just as much as her heart clenched. It was clear that she wasn't taking things well. And for that matter, Gohan was trying his best not to cry, while hugging his sister, it, uh, wasn't working. Chosho tried the same but no matter what they tried to do they felt helpless like a giant part of them was gone.

"Bulma…"

This sound confused Bulma enough that the sounds of her sobbing paused. "Ushichi, what's… I'm mama Bulma right?"

"I… I don't deserve it. Big brother died because of me."

Ushichi began bawling harder than ever before. She lost her brother, and she felt responsible. Moreover she felt like Bulma would hate her for it. She couldn't handle everything happening so suddenly.

Even though this was the single hardest moment in Bulma's entire life, and likely will never be topped. After all, what's worse than losing your child? Losing your child to a murderous lunatic that enjoys making their prey suffer as much as possible. Bulma, shakily flew over and picked Ushichi up, cradling her in her arms, and then the two of them went back into Goku's arms.

"This wasn't your fault, it was the dead guy's fault. You're not to blame, you never were. Bosa loved you dearly, enough that he risked it all to keep you safe. So don't blame yourself for what happened, he wouldn't like that. And finally, I'm still your, mama Bulma. That's something that'll never change, you hear me, Ushichi, I love you like my own daughter."

Ushichi whimpered. "Mama Bulma, I love you too."

And the crying grew intense again. This was a really difficult time for everyone, but if anyone asked who was hurting the most, it would definitely be Bulma, followed by Ushichi, then the kids and Goku, then everyone else, bringing up the rear with Yamcha. There were even a few employees who were more heartbreaking than Yamcha was.

Then Kami's voice entered everyone's minds. "Hello, I know it's a hard time right now. But I want to let you know that, Bosa, he was taken in by King Kai. King Kai's intent is to train young Bosa. He requests that you don't resurrect Bosa for a while to allow for proper training."

"What? How did someone with such a grandiose title come to train my son?"

"Well, about that… Apparently it had something to do with how he pushed Raditz into Hell. As for any specifics, I wasn't made aware of anything else-"

Yamcha, attempting to relax everyone, spoke up. However, it only went to show how he wasn't even on the same page as everyone else. "The dragon balls can bring Bosa back. See guys, there's nothing to worry about."

Krillin and Chiaotzu, both glared daggers at Yamcha. "Perhaps you should die too, and see how it feels, huh! How about that!"

Goku, nearly flared into that transformation against his tail whipped the cushion under him. "Yamcha, while that may be true. It's not something we didn't already know. When Bosa's final moments left him, he was in my arms… He was terrified… This isn't just about him not being with us, it's about how much he suffered." He shook, understanding that death is not something a child should ever have to face.

"Unfortunately, that is the end of the good news. It seems there are two more beings on their way here. Each stronger than Raditz was, I recommend you train in preparation for their arrival. As it stands now, Goku is the only one who can beat them with any guarantee."

Bulma, peeking out from her crying hole, looked at Tien. "Tien, you brought the ship that murderous psychopath arrived in, right?"

"Yes, though I don't think it's something you should inspect without a gas mask. It smelled worse than laundry day after our intense training."

"It was so bad in there, it woke Bosa up almost instantly… Bosa-"
