Chapter 29 - North Quadrant Warrior Training (1)

Olibu, being the defacto role model of the warriors, within the quadrant overseen by King Kai, took the lead in getting everyone back on track. "We all have our stories, but let us not pity the boy. He did what he did to protect his little sister."

"I tell ya, that fiendish brute best hope I don't come across him. Killing is already bad enough, but killing a kid, and in such a brutal manner."

"Heh, I've got a better idea. Let's teach the boy everything we can while we got him here. I bet he'll impress us."

"You got it, Olibu. Though it seems like our Yardratian friends have already taken to instructing him. Perhaps we could learn some of their methods for ourselves too?"

"Either way, let us be supportive in his training. King Kai said we could be a little rough, so long as we don't go too far."

Bosa, under the guidance of a few Yardratian warriors, listened to their stories, his eyes wide and interested, hanging on every word. This was right around the time, some people noticed that Bosa was growing more in-tune with spirit control.

"Is… Is…"

"Hey Olibu! Get a load of this! This kid, Bosa, he's simply fantastic!"

Olibu came running back inside to see Bosa sitting with the Yardratians. "Is… He learning, Spirit Control by listening to their stories. Such frighteningly outstanding potential."

"I know, this is crazy. It's hardly ever happened before. But this kid is making strides in minutes what it would take seasoned veterans at least a few months to pull off."

Another warrior, one of the more recent additions, being in the last 300 years, had been thinking while watching it all unfold. "What if… What if it's precisely because he is a kid. I remember you mentioning something about human children soaking up knowledge. If I remember right you used the phrase; like a dry sponge."

"Yes, that's true. But this is simply amazing. It's like his potential is rapidly improving as he learns more… I can already feel that he's a bit stronger than before."

The eldest Yardratian finally finished their story, it took hours. Yet, Bosa was raring to hear another one as his gaze shifted directly to the next Yardratian warrior, who chuckled before beginning to tell his own wondrous tale. This time though, Bosa had begun to balance on a single one of his fingers.

"This boy, he might be able to understand the true depth of my people's fusion technique. I wonder if he'd like to hear a story like that."

"If he learns this well, just by listening to someone's story… Perhaps we should each take turns. I'm sure the boy would be quite interested in the story told by an ancestor of his people."

"You're right, let's do that…"

And so, Bosa's training continued. He loved hearing the stories of all these great warriors. But there was this odd feeling he couldn't shake off, like 7 pairs of eyes were staring at him with intent. It was odd, but it actually helped him train his focus.

In another area, overlooking the training zone, was a gathering of the Kais. Gathered together were the 7 Kais of Universe 7. King Kai who is also known as the North Kai. South Kai, East Kai and West Kai. Those four were kneeling behind an older looking music lover of a kai, the Grand Kai.

Standing just in front and slightly to the side was the Supreme Kai, his attendant Kibito was standing to his right and rear.

"So this is the boy that you claim has the ability to use the power of the otherworld?"

"Yes sir, King Kai witnessed the event himself. King Yenma and the Guardian of the boy's home planet witnessed the event as well."

"I see, his potential does seem to be the real deal." Supreme Kai turned around. "You there, King Kai, connect me to Yenma at once. After you'll connect me to that guardian."

"Yes sir, right away Supreme Kai."

And so, after two hours, and two incredibly terrified people later. The Supreme Kai turned back around holding his hand to his chin. "What do you think Kibito, this boy might make for an interesting Kai in training."

"Whatever you decide, Supreme Kai. I'll only say this has rarely ever happened before, and for that matter, no one else has ever displayed the right ability to truly become a Kai. At least not from the mortal realm."

"I see, and yet, he does seem to have a decent degree of potential. If he's properly trained, he might help in that other problem we have brewing."

There was a moment of silence while Supreme Kai continued to watch Bosa, his expression softening. He's as carefree as she was… I guess putting in some effort to train him wouldn't be all that bad. Worst case scenario, he ends up being incapable of meeting the wildly high expectations. But something about this boy tells me he is connected to some interesting folks.

"Alright, King Kai, do what you can to train the boy." A pair of light green earrings appeared in his hand, then tossed to King Kai. "Have him wear those, both on his left ear. Once he graduates… Well you already know. Also, I don't expect him to master everything, but for him to try his best."

"Yes Supreme Kai, thank you for-"

"No need, I'm allowing this for my own reasons."

The Supreme Kai and Kibito Kai vanished, leaving the rest of the Kais there, all letting out a sigh of relief.

"Well, there you go, King Kai. You got what you wanted. Train him well…" Grand Kai relaxed, and then pulled out a boombox and started playing music again. "Oh, yeah party time." Then he skipped out of the room with an unusual level of energy for an old man.

Once the Grand Kai was gone, West Kai began… "Well don't you feel special now huh!? North Kai."

"You had us all dragged out here for such a matter, seriously, it's not like that boy is going to pull it off."

"Oh, but he does have a boyish charm about him. By the way, how did that boy manage to keep his body?"

King Kai sighed, and relayed the story, by showing the most recent events on earth. "Do stay away from him. I want him to focus on training-"

"We can, but are you sure he's focused? It looks like he's playing down there."
