Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 4

CHAPTER 4

Kira averted her gaze and smiled at the people, as she had to remember that Brianna was such a timid person. She wouldn't look like a hungry nymphomaniac. But Brianna wouldn't understand her anyway. Kira only had strong emotions for sensual things. Romantic feelings were out the window. Even to this enigmatic man. It was one of the best things about being aromantic.

Dominick had troubling thoughts. One moment, she was bold and eager; after a second, she was shy and hesitant.

Did she now have bipolarity?

He made her look at him again and, without further ado, caught her lips and sealed the kiss. Heat immediately surged in him as she felt her respond by pulling him down more. Yep. Definitely different than the old Brianna. She should have already withdrawn herself, but she wasn't even trying to end it.

Kira thought that maybe for just this first kiss with him, she could be her true self. Just to make an impression of the real her, that she wasn't a lousy kisser. She was almost smirking at the back of her mind. And the other part of her was shaking her head in her naughtiness. The Brianna part of her had been molded by the past two months of training to be her.

Just this once in front of everyone. She knew she was pushing it. She lightly grazed her teeth on his lower lip. She wanted to bite it just for how soft it was. But instead, she nipped at it and was careful enough not to procure blood.

Cheers and hoots erupted from the audience and his best men at the side.

Dominick was the one who ended it, for he doesn't know what his wife was actually doing that it was so out of her modest character.

Kira lifted a hand and wiped his lips. There was some lip gloss smeared at the side. She smiled bashfully at him through her lashes and faced everyone.

They proceeded with signing the papers and the pictorials for both families.

He almost never left her side, not until her family approached her and Dom to his family also. She gestured for one of their assistants and took off her gloves. The ring kept slipping from her fingers because of how silky the gloves were. She gave it to one of their maids and wore the ring on her again.

"Congratulations, dear." Anthony greeted, and Brylle was with him. She turned around.

"Best wishes, sister." Brylle hugged her. "Be careful. Dom is a smart man. He may not say it, but he noticed things." He whispered in her ear before letting her go.

He withdrew himself from her, and she looked up to him. The two of them could really pass as siblings as well. They had the same eye color.

"Act more like her. We're paying you here." He said with a smile.

All of a sudden, she pulled him in a tight embrace, not minding that her breasts were squished between them. Brylle was clearly affected by their body's proximity.

"I know what I'm doing, my dear brother." She said with a tinge of amusement in her voice. One arm coiled around his nape, and the other was propped on his shoulder. Her hand was touching his collar, but her thumb was grazing his skin on his exposed neck. She was slightly pressing her acrylic fingernail to where the pulse was. "I like threats, you know. I respond very well to it." She put more pressure on the skin to make her point across.

She felt him swallow hard, and she removed herself. She gave him an innocent smile like she didn't just threaten him.

Brylle was mostly looking at his more defined female version. It was a bit cringey that this woman, who was a substitute for his sister, looked more like his very own sibling. The two of them could be fraternal twins. Just the eyes alone were giving. Doppelgängers were really true.

He slowly smiled at her and laughed like nothing happened. Like it was just normal between them. He pulled her to his side by snaking an arm around her waist. And he called a photographer.

"Smile, Kira." He whispered in her ear. His breath was fanning the side of her face. She turned her head and raised a brow at him. She gave him a side smile. He was liking this woman's antiques and her behavior.

If they don't look like siblings, the two of them could be seen as flirting with each other. Kira doesn't mind. He was extremely attractive as well, given that he was her male version. And she had a thought that if she ever had to disguise herself as a male, she would look like him, no doubt.

"Quit it, you two." Anthony was at the side with Nana Amy, not liking what they saw.

A photographer stood a short distance from them and took their picture.

They were about to have another post when Dom stepped into her space. He was standing right behind. So close that she could feel the heat of his body. He held her arm and pulled her back, which made her back touch his chest.

She was sandwiched between two hot men, and the camera caught the act. They all smiled at the lens. Then Anthony joined them as he stood at his son's side.

Kira felt overwhelmed from all the male hormones that were surrounding her. She wanted to get away to breathe from all the heat. She wasn't a nymphomaniac. Well, maybe a little. That was why she also engaged in activities, including blood to alleviate her urges. That was why she liked her job, which was full of adrenaline rushes and emotion-free from any unlucky target in her contracts.

Some work associates came to them and joined the picture-taking. After a few minutes, the event committees announced for everyone to get to the reception at a nearby five-star hotel. Someone approached her and suggested that she go with them to glam her over for the next event.

"I'll drive with my wife. We'll meet you there." Dom said, tightening his arm around her waist.

The girl eyed her, then when she turned her gaze to him, her head was bobbing incessantly. "Understood, sir." She scurried away.

Kira glanced at Dom, who was giving the girl a glare. So that was why she almost ran like there was a target behind her back.

"Why did you do that, love?" Her face almost winced from the endearment. Now, she had to be the perfect Brianna. "You scared her. What if they'll get back to me later and screw up my make-up?" She pouted. Eww.

Dominick stared at her again. This was the girly Brianna. But as he looked into her eyes, he felt that there was something wrong. Something that wasn't there before. And he somehow hated that he couldn't figure out what it was exactly. He took a deep breath and softened his features.

"I just want to have more time with you, love. Even if it was just inside the car before we were surrounded again." He never said these things to Brianna without her blushing. But right now, her reaction was a bit off. It was somehow lacking.

The side of her lips quirked like there was a mischievous thought whirling in there. "Why not skip all of this, and let's just spend our time together?"

Dom blinked slowly, not letting her notice the surprise from what she said. Brianna Skipping the standard procedures? Is Brianna offering to spend time alone with him? That was such a bummer. Whoever this Brianna was, he wouldn't let her go. Yet.
