Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: You Underestimate Me!

Chapter 8: You Underestimate Me!

The small boat drifted with the wind across the sea.

Sag sat cross-legged at the bow, sipping the wine from his flask intermittently, until the last drop dripped from the flask into his mouth. He clicked his tongue.

Lily sat at the stern, using a wooden oar as a fishing rod, a thin rope from the boat as a fishing line, and a large, plump worm she'd somehow found tied to the end, dangling it in the water.

"Don't worry, when it was raining heavily over there, a lot of fish schools came over with the current. We'll definitely catch something!" Lily said confidently.

Sag was also full of confidence. *Go ahead and fish, you won't catch a thing.*

With him around, she wanted to catch fish?

He once had the feat of three thousand fish leaping past, yet he couldn't catch a single one!

Even if he asked for help, it was useless. As long as it was related to him, let alone fish, you couldn't even smell a woman's scent!

Sag sneered. Even if you somehow managed to get bait...

Bait?

Looking at the rope dangling in the water, Sag's expression became increasingly strange. He couldn't help but say, "Lily..."

"Hmm?"

"Where did you get the worm?"

"I caught it in the cracks of the boat," Lily said casually. "Although I'm a princess, since I've become a pirate, I'll have a pirate's spirit. I'm not afraid of a mere worm."

She even, to prove herself, reached into the cracks of the boat with one hand and pulled out a few more worms. The plump, white bread-like worms wriggled in her slender, fair fingers.

"See..."

*Crack!*

"Geppo!"

Sag stepped on the air, grabbed Lily's collar, and stomped on the air several times with both feet, carrying her and flying into the sky.

At that moment, that strange cracking sound accompanied the complete disintegration of the wooden boat, splitting into several pieces and becoming planks floating on the sea.

The small boat had fallen apart!

"How could this..." Lily was stunned.

"What kind of shipworm-infested boat did you get?" Sag asked.

A shipworm-infested boat, after experiencing the impact of cannon fire and the turbulence of the storm, it was a miracle it hadn't fallen apart sooner.

"It was the only boat. The others were gone."

Lily said, "I found a boat earlier and was going to sail it over to find you, but the warship arrived too quickly. I couldn't risk the people on the boat being caught, so I came down alone to find you."

"Sorry..."

She lowered her head, "I didn't consider that you could walk on air."

"It's okay, not a big problem," Sag said calmly.

"You're not blaming me?"

Lily was surprised. "I clearly had the chance to get a big ship, but I missed it."

Sag twitched the corner of his mouth, revealing a smile, and said meaningfully, "As long as you don't blame me..."

It's just bad luck.

He was used to it.

When it came to bad luck, he was always very confident.

But he thought that not being able to steal a single ship from so many in the harbor was already very unlucky, but he didn't expect there to be more...

"This little difficulty won't stop me! Do you know how much I've been through?"

Sag smiled confidently, his feet bouncing like springs in the air, keeping them from falling to the ground.

Ordinary Geppo didn't have such strong levitating power, but Sag, who had an ultimate understanding of the human body, could achieve long-term levitation.

The Rokushiki were indeed good martial arts. They seemed simple, but they contained the ultimate use of the human body. Each style contained different categories, especially this move, Geppo, which had the highest technical content.

It wasn't like the Fist of the North Star. Although there were many moves in his memory, in fact, there were only a few that could really be called 'moves'. The others were just applications of pressure point strikes, with names given to them.

And the Fist of the North Star focused more on pressure point strikes. Although Sag had been deliberately increasing his strength, it was still lacking. Now that he had obtained the Rokushiki, his weaknesses had been filled.

As for Haki...

The Fist of the North Star had the power of *Tōki* (Fighting Spirit), but here, it would also become Haki.

Sag didn't know Haki yet, he could only say he had touched on it a little.

Although he got the cheat early, he had to train it himself. It wasn't like a Devil Fruit that you could eat and use.

It was more like throwing you a textbook that was specifically for you. Anyway, all the methods were in the book, so go train.

To be able to train to the level of mastering the principles of martial arts, Sag considered himself to be quite talented.

"Where are we going? Point the way. I can't stay in the sky forever. It's best to find an island with a town to get some supplies."

Even the strongest Geppo had its limits. It wasn't related to Sag's stamina, but if he kept bouncing in the air, no amount of stamina would be enough.

But Lily's next words stunned Sag.

"I don't know."

"Huh?"

"I don't know."

Lily shook her head. "Without a nautical chart, I don't know where to go."

A navigator was a profession that mastered wind direction and climate, not a fortune teller. It was impossible to predict locations out of thin air.

"Aren't you a navigator? Don't you know the sea routes?" Sag twitched the corners of his mouth.

"I'm only theoretically outstanding..." Lily said weakly.

She was good in theory, but she had no practical experience and had never left land. How could she possibly know the sea routes?

As for Sag, he was even more clueless...

He looked at the boundless sea, without a single raised outline, and sighed. "Pick a direction. At least we need to get moving."

The small wooden boat had drifted very far earlier, carried left and right by the wind. He had long since lost his specific direction. Otherwise, he could have returned to Oykot.

Lily looked up at the position of the sun, then looked at the sea, and pointed north. "We can try going north. Sag, there's no need to worry. There are always ships at sea. As long as our luck isn't too bad, we'll encounter them. And I can swim. If worse comes to worst, we can swim in the water."

"Unless absolutely necessary, I don't want to go in the water. Also..."

Sag smiled mockingly. "You underestimate me!"

"Underestimate?" Lily was puzzled.

Sag didn't explain, carrying Lily and stomping on the air with both feet, heading straight north.

Very soon, very soon, in just one day, Lily understood what Sag meant by "underestimate."

There were always ships at sea. Even in the open sea far from land, there would be ships sailing.

Especially when looking down from a high altitude, as long as one's luck wasn't too bad, one should see a ship. With a ship, things would be easy.

But from sunrise to sunset, and then to sunrise again, apart from the sound of Sag stomping on the air, there was no other sound around.

Ship?

What was that?

Was there such a thing at sea?

"Sag, you..."

Lily wasn't stupid, and she was very smart. She not only understood what he meant by "underestimate," but also understood what he meant by "don't blame me later."

She pursed her lips, hesitated for a moment, looked up at Sag's expressionless face, and said tactfully, "Are you a little unlucky..."

"Guess why I'm still in this measly East Blue, and haven't made a fortune?"

Sag sneered. "That's right, I'm a jinx!"

"It's, it's okay... it's just a little accident. It's normal to not encounter a ship for two or three days at sea. Maybe we just missed them. If we hadn't left before, maybe we would have encountered a ship," Lily tried to comfort him.

"You're wrong about that."

Sag was extremely confident at this moment. "I have experience with this. If we stayed where we were, then ships would appear from the direction we were heading. If we leave, ships will appear in the direction we were staying. It's all about Schrödinger's ship."

Lily didn't know who Schrödinger was, and she didn't want to know now.

She had taken on a captain, but he was a person with extreme bad luck...

She didn't know if they could become pirates, but if they continued like this, she could become sea scum.
