The boy yelled, charging toward Kakashi at full speed. As the boy was about to stab him, Megumin held his hand and threw him at another person who was fighting.
"Kakashi, what are you doing?" She asked, surprised to see Kakashi standing still.
"I don't want to kill because someone says we should," Kakashi said, staring at nothing. "I don't have the right to take someone's life."
"So does that mean you're going to stay here until someone else kills you? Don't you want to see her??" She asked, but Kakashi didn't reply.
She reached out to Kakashi's pocket and brought out the photo that his mother had given to him before her death.
"Don't you want to see Tokah??" She shouted, showing him the photo right on his face. Kakashi stared blankly at the picture when another person attacked them, and Megumin took care of her.
Kakashi couldn't tell why Megumin had always cared for him.
[I mean, not that I didn't expect it, but she shouldn't go to this length because of me]
According to what Megumin told him, her mother died during childbirth and her dad had always blamed her for it, she was later sold out to these people, and that is how she has been living in the lab for the past twelve years.
But, she is different compared to before. Megumin never wanted to escape the lab, at least that was what Kakashi had thought, but after the day Kakashi and Kenji fought, she changed. She now wants to escape just as much as the others, Kenji and Saito had taken it upon themselves to make sure that Megumin gets to see the outside world, at least once.
"What do you suggest we do?" Kakashi asked after coming back from his thoughts.
"The only way we'll be able to get out of here is if we kill him," Megumin said, pointing at the man who started everything. "Do you want to still go on with the plan?"
"Okay," Kakashi replied. [Megumin has changed]
"You remember the plan, right?"
"Sure, I'm ready"
"Okay, you wait there while I get Kenji and Sa....." A gunshot exploded in the hall, making everyone stop in their tracks.
Megumin fell to the ground with her head bleeding, Kakashi fell to his knees and held her in his arms.
"Megumin?!!!!!, Please answer me!!, Megumin??!!!!" Kakashi turned the man; he was laughing, enjoying every moment of it.
"Didn't you hear what I said? I said if you don't fight, we'll kill you where you stand," he laughed. "So it's not my fault,"
Saito angrily used his ability as he stretched his body held the man's leg and pulled him down from the platform on which he was standing.
Before he could reach the floor, Kenji swung his finger sideways, releasing a slash of Karma and cutting through the man.
After that, everyone stopped. Kakashi looked up at Moroboshi.
"YOU'RE NEXT. YOU HEAR ME MOROBOSHI, I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!!!!!!" Kakashi declared. He could see the fear in the man's eyes, he was trembling, sweating profusely.
"Kill them!!!" He yelled desperately.
The guards were confused.
"But, what about..." One of the guards tried to speak.
"I said kill them!!!. Kill every one of them!!" He yelled before running to the back.
"JUST KEEP RUNNING!!!. You hear me, keep running!" Kakashi yelled after him. "But just remember, YOUR DEATH HAVE ALREADY BEEN DECIDED!!!"
The guards loaded their guns and started shooting everything in sight, they didn't target anyone, just reckless shots, hoping that the bullet could kill them all.
Kakashi looked around; everyone was being killed. All of them were being gunned down, some tried to run, while others cried, but they were all killed.
Kakashi held my head, he couldn't take it anymore. Tears rushed down his cheeks as he fell to the ground in despair.
[It's my fault; it's all my fault. It's still happening. We kill others trying to save ourselves but instead end up creating more problems for ourselves. We killed him to save ourselves but end up causing everyone death]
"Kakashi, don't blame yourself. What we did wasn't right; I know that. But I can't say it's wrong anyway." Kenji said and pointed at the wall on the right. "Go, there is an exit there; just break that wall."
"What about you, Kenji? What will you do?" Kakashi asked, his body was still shaking as a bullet bruised his left hand. He held it and groaned in pain with Megumin still on his lap. "Why don't you come? Let's go together."
"No, take Megumin. She is low on karma, so she can't heal quickly, and at this rate, she might die." Kenji warned, he kneeled beside Kakashi and transferred most of his karma energy to Megumin.
"Why did you do that?" Kakashi asked in shock.
"I can't survive, not with this injury." Kenji moved his hand a little from his abdomen, and blood rushed out. "But at least, I'll be able to save you."
"But, why would you do such a thing?"
"You remember my brother that I told you about, right?"
"Yes, what about him?"
"I was never a good brother to him and I just wish I was able to see him for the last time to tell him, I'm sorry, but I believe in you; I know you won't let our deaths go to waste," Kenji said his final words before using his body as a shield for me and Megumin - who was still unconscious. "I want you to find the Kenji clan. And I want you to be his elder brother,"
Kenji was shot multiple times, but he was still protecting them, like a big brother. He kept on saying something that Kakashi couldn't hear clearly, but he was sure about the last part.
"Kakashi, Run!!"
Kakashi stood up, holding Megumin in his arms, and dashed towards the wall.
He carried Megumin in his arms as they ran to the end of the hall; all this time, Saito was blocking the bullet while Kakashi ran.
[Kenji, Saito, your sacrifice won't be in vain. I WILL GET OUT OF HERE ALIVE AND I'LL AVENGE YOU]
When Kakashi got to the wall; he could sense that it was hollow inside, so he kicked it down and looked inside. It was a vent leading outside, Kakashi threw Megumin into it and ran back to get Kenji. Saito was able to carry him, but a demon jumped in between them.
Kakashi froze as the demon ran towards him with its hand wide open and a mischievous smile on its face.
"Kakashi, run!!" Saito said, and held the demon's hand and pulled him back. The demon quickly turned around, held Saito's head and smashed it into the ground. The demon turned to Kakashi again; he was wearing a wicked smile. His face looked familiar but Kakashi couldn't tell where he had seen him before.
The demon ran to him, trying to touch his face, before Saito jumped in. The demon touched Saito's face instead.
Saito slowly turned, facing Kakashi.
"Why did you do that?" Kakashi asked with a shaken voice.
"Kakashi, I can't feel my face," Saito said, his face slowly swelling up. "It feels like it's going to explode."
The right part of his face suddenly blew up, revealing his brain. Saito fell right in front of him.
Kakashi's breathing started getting unstable, he didn't know if he should cry or get angry. He couldn't remember what happened, but when he closed his eyes and opened them, the whole place was destroyed.
