Tialfi?
"Thank you." Luo Wei thought for a moment, then turned and left, heading straight for the Brave Hunter Tavern.
As expected, the tavern was as lively as ever, filled with the sound of hearty laughter, loud conversations, and the clinking of mugs. The aroma of roasted meat permeated the air, making his stomach growl involuntarily.
After standing there for a while, Luo Wei couldn't help but start drooling. Just then, a tavern waiter passed by, and he immediately stopped him.
"Please bring me a roast lamb chop… No, make it two," he said.
"Alright," the waiter nodded before disappearing into the crowd.
The family he lived with—Peter's family—leaned heavily toward vegetarianism. Even though Luo Wei had recently increased his appetite, his desire for meat wasn't fully satisfied. It was frustrating because, aside from being delicious, meat was essential for building strength.
He had never cared for vegetarianism in his past life, nor in this one.
Eating meat is satisfying, and eating more meat is even better.
Before long, the waiter returned with two freshly grilled lamb chops, their juices sizzling on the surface. The scent of the seasoning reached his nose, making his mouth water even more.
In Asgard, lamb was considered a "commoner's meat", unworthy of royal or noble gatherings. But among everyday people, it was beloved—especially in Brave Hunter Tavern, where they feasted on the Asgardian Gray Goat, a creature that roamed freely in Landveti Forest.
The eating style here was straightforward: grab the meat with your hands and devour it.
Compared to Earth's livestock, the Asgardian Gray Goat was a ferocious animal, yet in Asgard, it was considered easy prey.
These goats didn't require high-temperature flames to cook. Even freshly grilled, the Aesir would simply grab the meat, tear into it, and let the juices run freely down their chins.
Luo Wei followed suit.
"Ahhh—"
After finishing his first lamb chop, he let out a long, satisfied breath.
A few moments later, after devouring both chops, Luo Wei waved for the waiter again.
After settling his bill, he asked, "Does Tialfi come here every day?"
The bartender nodded. "Yeah, he never misses a day. Sometimes he comes more than once."
"Has he been here today?"
"Not yet."
Luo Wei nodded. "When he arrives, let me know—I have something to ask him."
The waiter smiled. "I'd be happy to help."
"Thanks."
Luo Wei remained in the tavern, waiting patiently. Occasionally, he wandered around, taking in the lively atmosphere.
The Brave Hunter Tavern wasn't just a place for drinking and eating—it was one of Asgard's most popular entertainment spots. People gathered here to duel, perform, and hold grand celebrations.
As long as Asgard wasn't at war, this place was always bustling.
Every so often, someone would bring in fresh goats from Landveti Forest, slaughter them, roast them, and serve them on the spot.
Luo Wei found this curious. Asgard wasn't that large in size, yet somehow, there were always enough goats to keep up with demand.
Suddenly, a loud voice caught his attention.
"Brothers, let's take a walk in the forest. Maybe we'll catch a four-horned goat!"
Luo Wei turned to see a burly, bearded man speaking to his companions.
"Haha, if catching a four-horned goat were that easy, Tialfi would've done it by now," a young blond man beside him quipped.
Curious, Luo Wei approached them. "Excuse me… What exactly is a four-horned goat?"
The blond man turned, raising an eyebrow. "Kid, you look young, but this isn't the kind of question I'd expect from someone your age."
Luo Wei felt a little embarrassed. The missing pieces of his memory were likely to blame.
The bearded man laughed and explained, "The four-horned goat is a rare variation of the Asgardian Gray Goat—one of the rarest creatures in Asgard. Normally, a Gray Goat reaches adulthood in just a single day and night, yet even with that fast growth, four-horned goats are incredibly rare."
He took a swig of his drink before continuing, "And then there's Tialfi. That guy has spent over a hundred years hunting in Landveti Forest, and he hasn't found a four-horned goat even once."
Luo Wei raised an eyebrow. This guy sounds like the most unlucky hunter in all of Asgard.
The blond youth added, "Actually, more than a hundred years ago, Tialfi did see a four-horned goat—but it was just a cub. He swore never to harm younglings, so he left it alone, planning to return once it had grown. But when he came back a few days later, someone else had already taken it."
He paused for a moment, then smirked. "Since then, Tialfi has never encountered a four-horned goat again. A hundred years and nothing! Pretty tragic, huh? Hahaha!"
Luo Wei nodded thoughtfully. "So why is the four-horned goat so special? Is it valuable?"
"Oh, it's valuable," the bearded man admitted, "but that's not the real reason people hunt it."
"The real reason is that catching a four-horned goat grants you the right to participate in the once-in-a-century Hunting Festival in Nornheim. That's a huge honor. And if you actually win the festival, you get a reward from Ullr, the God of Winter and Hunting."
Ullr, the God of Winter and Hunting.
Luo Wei's eyes flickered with recognition.
Aside from Odin and Kur, the most powerful and respected figure in Asgard was Ullr. He wasn't just the patron deity of hunters—he was also the guardian of the Bifrost in this era.
The bearded man continued, "Of course, the four-horned goat isn't just rare—it's deadly. More dangerous than even the wild wolves of Landveti."
"It's strong, aggressive, and nearly unkillable. Except for its head, heart, and bones, any other part of its body can heal almost instantly. That's why it's considered the most dangerous wild beast in the palace."
He chuckled, then added, "Even someone as strong as me wouldn't stand a chance against a four-horned goat in a one-on-one fight."
"As strong as you? Hah! You're always so full of yourself," his friends burst into laughter.
Just then, someone in the tavern shouted, "Hey, Tialfi!"
Luo Wei turned and spotted a young man carrying two goats on his shoulders. The man strode into the tavern, tossed the goats onto the floor, and silently accepted a pouch of gold coins from a waiter.
Without a word, he pocketed the money and turned to leave.
Recognizing his chance, Luo Wei quickly followed after him.
"Excuse me, are you Tialfi?"
Tialfi stopped, turning slightly to glance at him. "What do you want?" His tone was indifferent.
Luo Wei didn't waste time. "I heard you hunt in Landveti Forest and occasionally gather herbs. I was wondering if you could help me collect some Green Chip Grass?"
He added, "I'll pay one rune per plant. What do you say?"
